9 Summer begins with Yandere

SUMMER ARC

It had been two weeks since the Nami incident and it was finally returning to normal; the Prez left us alone and sulked in the council room; the class stopped pestering me about it and Rio turned into her old self. It was the dream. Most of my days now were filled with silence, until the week leading up to summer break...

"Darling!"

Ah crap. I twisted myself into a locker nearby in order to hide from Rio. Her footsteps and excited humming drew ever nearer until they were right outside. My breathing turned shallow as my whole body froze. Through the grates, I could see Rio looking around. Then she turned to the locker. A sly smile spread across her lips as she mouthed the word: d a r l i n g.

The door swung open and I was pulled into her loving embrace, which didn't feel lovely.

"Why were you hiding from me?" Rio asked.

"U-uh that's... uh"

"Oh well! I guess you'll have to make up for it!"

"H-how?"

"With a date of course!" Rio exclaimed, then wrapped herself around me once again. "So?-"

"No," I said immediately.

"Aww come on, you're so mean!" Her eyes glimmered as though she was about to cry.

"A no is a no."

"Hmmf" Rio walked off in a sulk as I sighed with relief. I still had tons of schoolwork that I have to catch up on, and more importantly I need time binge anime.

As I argued with myself what anime I was gonna binge next a voice interrupted.

"Hey, idiot." There, stood by the door, was Irami acting as tsundere as ever.

"What do you want?" I asked disregarding unneeded politeness.

"Well...um... you see..." She looked away blushing then shouted: "I was just getting a book I left in the classroom! Yeah, that's it!"

"Ok Tsundere!" I teased.

She went to her desk, cheeks puffed and red as Rio's hair. I chuckled to myself then headed to the door, carrying my bag when I was stopped by Irami again.

"Actually I wanted to ask something..." She bit her lip. "Do- Do you love Rio?"

The room was filled with an eerie, awkward silence. My thoughts were clouded; did I really love her? I mean... I never act lovey dovey around her, so do I really love her?

"Of course I do! What kind of stupid question is that!? We are dating after all!" I said not so convincingly.

"So-"

"Ah would you look at the time I need to get home! See you later Irami!"

I heard her whisper "stupid" in a strangled voice as I walked out the door...

At home I was welcomed by a certain red haired girl who pounced on me but I shrugged her off and calmly headed to my room. I collapsed on the bed, face hidden, I felt tears stream down my face. Why was I crying. I touched my cheek, pulled back my finger which now possessed a drop of salty water.

There were two knocks at the door followed by the voice of my girlfriend. My girlfriend.

"Come in-"

The click of the door interrupted me. Slowly, the girl opened the door and asked in a worried tone. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." I replied, wiping away my tears. "Hey, Rio. I'm not going on the date with you-"

"Why no-"

"But, I will got to my family's vacation house that's located near the beach for the summer break."

Rio was suddenly filled with delight, her eyes sparkled, a grin was stuck to her face and she danced with happiness.

"We wont be going alone though. I'm inviting Irami, Meiwaku, Fuji and Nami. 3 girls and 3 boys. I know I probably shouldn't invite Nami but I don't think I can just leave her behind since she doesn't have anymore friends."

"Ok fine! I'm just happy I get to go on a trip with my lovely boyfriend." And once again i was locked in an embrace where face was cushioned.
