15 Elemental Power

I'm standing in the small clearing next to the woods. Three badly burnt bodies can be seen half in and half out of the woods on a small incline. The smell of burnt flesh and blood fills the air. I pull out a jar and my fire dog turns into a thin stream of black fire and enters the small jar. I cover it and put it back into the Void bag.

I inspect them and find they are all human. I gather up any useful belongings and put them in a bag. I pile the bodies in the middle of the small clearing. The last body I add is Zarks after I've stripped him like the rest of all his belongings. I grab his bag and tie it to the bandits stuff then put it in the Void bag.

I stand up and walk over to the other side of the road where a small creak runs. I clean up then watch as my shape changes. My blue skin turns yellow and the points vanish from my ears. I look at my long green hair and see none of my normal shape. "This is the second humanoid creature I've turned into and it's complete." I touch my face. "Maybe the Florensin aren't so special. It needs to be a humanoid like me." Dropping my hand I head back to the wagon. Climbing in like nothing happened I head down the road.

This night I stop in another field after setting up a crystal barrier I release the Raybacks and Llama. I don't have a need to start a fire instead I go into the Space bag.

Inside the Bag

I find Wizzal hard at work. His lab is set up and Rayba is at his side working hard. She is the first one to see me and almost knocks over the experiment in her surprise.

Wizzal looks at me and frowns, "Why do you look like a human now? Don't answer that I suppose you killed another one. No matter. Rayba get me the crystals to test her affinity." Rayba runs over to the shelves and starts putting things together. Wizzal just glares at me and I laugh, "You will have to forgive me sooner or later after all you knew what I was from the start. You didn't have a problem then even though I'd killed one of the other villagers. Why have a problem now? Besides this has been my plan all along I just didn't see fit to tell a slave. Even if you are one of my more useful ones."

It only takes a few minutes for all the jars to be setup. I soon walk over and I place my hands over the jar of water and the water looks like it is sucked towards the crystal. His face instantly changes into one of wonder, "You truly are a remarkable creature. Rayba the next one please. This is truly fascinating." I chuckle thinking, "He can be bipolar if an experiment is involved."

Rayba slides the next jar towards me. He tests for nature magic next. There is a green crystal in the jar and he drops four seeds around it. I put my hands over the jar and concentrate. The seeds start to sprout and grow up the sides of jar, with no soil.

His eyes look big as he brings forth another jar with a grey stone in it. I look into the jar and then at him. "Well I'm waiting," he says looking like he wants to place my hands over the jar himself. I smile shake my head and begin, a small whirl wind starts to appear around the stone. I remove my hands and he pulls forth yet another. This one has a white crystal in the center and it's set in water. After placing my hands over the jar it looks like nothing happens I remove my hands and the whole jar fogs up. Picking the jar up I turn it upside down the water is frozen inside.

He then takes out another jar this one has a yellow stone in the middle around it are four blue water crystals. I look to him and say, "What is this one." He looks over at his shelves and walks over seemingly ignoring my question. He reaches out then pulls his hand back. Sighs and grabs the items from the shelf.

He holds the peace of wood out to me and says, "This is a memory keeper." The peice of wood has symbols engraved into it, at the top there is a hole that looks like a crystal fits in it. you can see the rings of the tree across the smooth surface. "A tree holds the memory of everything it sees. If the memory in the tree matches you then you can see it even from years ago. Assuming you have the nature affinity."

"The memory is stored in all nearby trees. Nature users can use that memory to track people or creatures as long as they have past by in the last few minutes. Anytime beyond five minutes and the trees will no longer answer cause the memories are not yours. That's what this is. The water crystal reflects the memory that the nature user helped me lock into the memory keeper. The symbol on the memory wood is like a time stop. It stops the stored memory in the wood from fading away."

He takes the water crystal and places it on top of the wood in the hole. He turns it till they line up and the crystal lights up. I can see an image moving in the crystal. There is a group of eleven people. Each one has purple robes on and are waving a paper in the air above their heads. The robes have a symbol on the right corner where a pocket would have been in my world. It's hard to see but it looks like some kind of leaves one red, gold and the last silver all the ends point towards each other. In front are two Florensin one girl who is jumping up and down. The young man is smiling ear to ear and grabs the young woman around the waist pulls her in and kisses her on the cheek.

Wizzal snatches away the crystal and clears his throat as he holds out his hand for the memory wood and says, "Well you can see how this setup works now." I pass him the memory wood. He carefully puts the items back on the shelf and softly in a voice we are not suppose to hear, "Fascinating," In a louder voice he says, "The Water crystals reflect the Sun crystal the same way this Water crystal works for the memory wood." I raise my hands over the jar and let him be alone for a minute and nothing happens. As I think, "It's interesting but was that long example really necessary, and I may have got the idea but he never actually answered the question."

He runs over, checks everything to make sure it is correct when there is no reaction. He removes the outer crystals leaving just the yellow center crystal saying, "lower your finger into the jar." I do as he says and when I'm almost touching the crystal a small spark jumps from my finger to the crystal. It don't hurt so I slowly pull my finger away and you can clearly see a small electric bolt connecting my finger to the crystal. When I pull my hand about 1/2 inch away the connection breaks.

He removes the jar and presents me with yet another jar this one has a silver crystal with four water crystals around it. I put my hands over the jar and nothing happens.

He tries fire and earth and again nothing in this shape. Last he pulls out a jar and in the center is a strange stone that looks like it is just floating sparkles. You can't even see the crystal itself. Around it are four black stones." I look at them and ask, What are they."

He looks into the jar nervously and says, "The center crystal is the Shine crystal as you know and because it has the power of all magic the only way to test for spirit magic is to use the devil stones or these stones. These are Dark stones. When the black cloud lifted from the land. This was left behind. It's very nasty stuff. It is believed to be the Dark cloud solidified. It must be stored in jars like this or it can distort any living plant or creature."

I stare at the black stones and hear my heart beat in my ears blocking everything else out. The stones....," I think, "they, they seem to pulse with my heart." Wizzal grabs my hand and says, "Don't" pulling me back to the present. My hand is less then an inch from picking up one of the black stones. I didn't even know I'd moved. I look at him in a bit of a daze and shake my head. I look back at the stones and continue. As I place my hands over the jar the air turns cold. It feels like the very air is being sucked out of the room.

Wizzal grabs the jar removes the crystal and covers the jar saying, "That's enough," I watch as he puts the jar in his Void bag out of my reach. As soon as the stones vanish from sight I feel a feeling of anger but quickly shake it off as he continues.

You have all elements but Snow, Sun, and Moon between your shapes. Funny that you can't use Fire and Earth in your human form considering the human is the most versatile being known, but in amount of power and ability they are one of the weaker races. You can find some exceptions but as a whole it holds true. Most can only use one or two elements. Three at most but you can use five in your human form truly astounding."

I think for a minute and say, "When did we test for snow?" He looks up at the ceiling as if he is thinking as he says, "If you had a snow affinity the fog on the jar from the ice test would have turned to powder. Not that it matters you have water and ice affinities so you can make sleet any way."

After a few hours I tell him I've had enough and leave the room. As I leave he yells, "I want the rest of my books." I laugh as I step into the library and start pulling more stacks of book from my Void bag, library 200, library 201... As I continue Neens comes running over and peaks at what I'm doing. Her eyes light up as she looks at all the new books. As I finish up Wizzal steps into the door way and says, "I need more Thibel(catalyst) and the cooks have been complaining about cooking pots and spices.

I look around the library shelves and say, "Make a list I should be here for another six hours or so. Tomorrow I'll be heading to the town of Bilge. I maybe able to get the supplies you need there. As I'm looking for the books I want both Neens and Rayba head out the door parchment in hand.

I get the books I want and head down the hall to the caves. I look into the dining cave Neens is on one side and Rayba is on the other they are both surrounded by villagers yelling at them and waving hands. I go to the sorting cave and see the two carts half empty. The sorters stop what they are doing and look nervous. I pull two carts out of the Void bag full of new crystals and they stare as the carts appear with the large wind that whips through the cave.

I leave and head to the field and find Iota sleeping in the grass hugging a tiny fluff ball of a Rayback. I look at the adults and shake my head. They must loose all the fur when they become adults. I walk over to Iota and nudge him with my foot.

He looks up then looks again and rubs his eyes. "Who are you?" I smile and my shape begins to change. He stares in shock as my skin changes, claws and teeth sharpen and my wings grow out, "Now don't tell me you have forgotten who I am." He swallows and shakes his head no. "Good," I say, "Tomorrow I'll be on my way to Bilge village and from there it's on to Azar. If you want to see Azar you should get ready." I reach into my Space bag and disappear.

Outside the Bag

I take a sniff and nothing seems off so I call Llama over. He comes running happily and I give him a pet before I blindfold him and send him into the bag. I follow after him.

Inside the Bag

Iota is looking at me in shock. I remove the blindfold from Llama and give him a treat before releasing him into the field. Iota stares at it and says in amazement, "What is that thing?" I look at him and smile, "He's a Partma. See what you miss when you live your life in a cave." Iota shakes his head yes as I pick up the bag and head to the edge of the woods before vanishing into the bag once again.

Outside the Bag

I stretch and holding the bag I walk over to the wagon where the two Slyma are still attached. They snort at me and look nervous. I reach out to them and say, "I've decided I've no use for you." I slide blindfolds on them. They shake their heads in annoyance and I send them into the bag. I then join them.

Inside the Bag

I'm standing next to the woods with the two nervous Slyma. I remove the blindfolds and the necklaces. They take off through the woods as soon as the blindfolds are removed.

With that I take flight and head into the distance. It takes a little less then 30 minutes with my high speed flight to cross the rest of the forest and pass the mountain range. I land at the shimmering wall that is the edge of the world. Closing my eyes I place my hand on the simmering wall. With that a large door like hole appears in the wall. I take out a few seeds and a couple brown crystals.

I drop the seeds to the ground on either side of the fifteen foot tall door. I kneel down and press the crystals into the ground my hands over them and as I watch the seeds sprout. They twist and turn as they grow in mere minutes framing the door between their branches. By the time they are done the the tree branches spread out above the new door into nothingness. I chuckle as I stand and look on at the amazing new door I say, "Wizzal you really are a genius." I dust off my hands and reach into the bag.

Outside the bag.

I look around at the area this is a good place to start. We are on the side of a trail that is weaving down a mountain. This area is a nice level area set up for camping by the kingdom. Smiling I turn the bag inside out. Strange glowing patterns can be seen. I smile as I say, "let's test this feature. This will make things a lot easier then the last project."

With that I put my hand into the now inside out bag. I make sure the red glowing flower is lined up in the center of my palm and press the bag into the ground as I yell. "Copy mountain." With that a light flashes out I stay like that for a few minutes before the light comes back towards me and disappears into the bag. After that I stand up and look at the now solid red flower. In the center is a picture of a mountain. I stand up turn the bag right side out and reach into the bag.

Inside the bag

I walk over to the door reach into the void bag pulling out five carts of crystals I toss them into the black void. As I watch they float in the darkness like little colored suns. I then turn the bag inside out once again and face the red flower together the door and say, "copy." The flower starts to glow and the shape of a huge clear mountain appears on the other side of the door. It looks like the outline of a picture. Wind starts to rush in the door as the sky start's getting pulled in and spreads across the sky. I look at the flower there is no longer a mountain in the center and it now glows the same red it did at first. After I turn the bag right side out I sit down cross legged in front of the door as I start to build the mountain on the other side of the door. As hours pass the mountain solidifies.

I watch the crystals vanish into the new landscape beyond the door. Six full hours pass and I stand up looking through the door at the bare mountain with the sky high above. I step inside and look around at the bare ground reaching up as far as I can see. Looking down I can already see a few green shoots of grass peaking from the soil. The bare ground heads upward towards the top of the mountain. I bend down and start working with the soil removing a good 500 different kinds of herbs from my void bag. I take a few minutes to plant 37 different kinds of trees. One is planted in the middle of a nearby pond. I make quick work planting them around the area. After that I pull out a bag of powder and shake the bag out as the fungus spores fill the air I wave my hand in front of my face coughing. After that's done I look to the side and see the packed ground of the trail with the bare rock overhanging the trail. This was a lot easier then my other project. To the side of the door I see the shimmering wall reaching beyond the horizon. I smile and head back through the door. Next I build a door to lock the place up if need be. With that I shut the door. Right now with the sped up growth the entire place should be teaming with plants in a little over a week.

I turn back flying back to the village and head to the library. After that I take out my book I sit down to read for a few hours.

Once I estimate 8 hours has past I stand up stretch and shift my shape back to human. I turn and started walking back to my side room. I hear a yell, "Master wait," Neens and Rayba enter the library from the other side. Neens is leaning up against the door jam gasping for air. She is the one who yelled. I wait for them to catch their breath and come to me. When they both get to me they hold parchments out and say, "Here you are master." Rayba doesn't look happy with having to say Master, but I smile and say, "That's some good girls." I take the parchments and walk through the door of the side room.

The barrier goes up as I enter the room. I look over my shoulder. They are watching me as I put the parchments into my Void bag. They turn and Neens heads to the piles of books I'd left and Rayba disappears into the lab. I reach into the Space bag and vanish one last time.
