4 Chapter 4 - The Reason

[MC's POV]

I think we finally lost them, that was a really risky move although i gotta say... something is a bit off about those guards but i just can't put my finger around it, it doesn't really concern me so whatever, at least i got the girl now.

However, i think i heard one of them call this girl a princess while i was running away, which in that case is quite confusing, according to the girl's story earlier, she was the daughter of a business owner in the Central city of Urjin not a princess... That's quite... Tricky. But if it was true then she was most likely an orphan or she got abducted by the people of their household, I do believe that it's the former. Anyways i shouldn't focus on that, instead i should get going and go to my home.

--*Meanwhile*--

[Third Person View]

"Damn it! We lost track of the kid!" Said Guard A.

"No shit dumbass, you were too careless," Said Guard B.

"I mean, who would've expected that, that kid was faster than us?" Guard A reasoned.

"He wasn't fast idiot, you were too slow," Guard B responded to Guard A.

"So were you," Said Guard A with a slight smirk on his face.

"Y-You!"

"Stop it you two! Instead of quarrelling over something so irrelevant how about you help me think about how to explain to master that we failed the rescue mission?!" The Guard leader interrupted the two other Guards.

"Understood," Said the two Guard in unison.

The three guards then thought about how to explain their failure of completing their mission to their master.

"It's no use... We can't fool master anyways so why are we even doing this?" Said Guard B

"You're right... How could master even fall for our lies when we still failed the mission, regardless of the reason, we still failed and if master were to hear that then reasoning wouldn't change the fact that we failed accomplishing our task..." Said the Guard leader. "Let us just report our failure to master and maybe we can get away with a minor punishment... Hopefully..."

--*Back in the Shen Household*--

[Third Person View]

"Okay, let's cut to the chase. What do you really want from us?" Shen Zhang's father asked Wang Xiu Ying.

"What do you mean father?" Wang Xiu Yang questioned Shen's father.

"Cut the crap, i know you aren't a normal woman, and those scars... they aren't from abuse but from fights, also don't bother lying, i am also the same as you, I can see your aura but my ability is better than you in a lot of ways, for example... You're already at the Spirit Materialization realm aren't you? A high leveled one at that too... So tell me... What do you want from my son," Shen Zhang's father asked Wang Xiu Ying whilst releasing a tremendous amount of killing intent, enough to suffocate a Mind Augmentation realm cultivator and below.

"Very well, i shall... speak... but will you please get rid of your killing intent so we can converse in a more civilized way?"

Wang Xiu Ying was already beginning to lose her consciousness at this point but fortunately Shen Zhang's father stopped releasing his enormous killing intent.

"Speak!" Said Shen Zhang's father.

"Starting off, yes i am indeed a High realm Spirit Materialization cultivator and my scars are indeed from fights with fellow cultivators, you might wonder as to why i am filled with scars if it was only a fight between two fellow cultivators but it wasn't just a normal fight, it was a failed assassination attempt."

"I was originally from the moonlight continent, my parents died from a corrupted noble. The noble took a fancy to my mother and wished to take her as his concubine however, my mother refused his arrogant request which made the noble very infuriated and the noble then resorted to what all other nobles do best... Abusing their authority. One day my mother was abducted by thay noble or at least my mother was abducted upon the orders of the noble, once my father got a wind of it he was filled with rage and anger, he then planned to rescue my mother from the hands of that filthy noble, but my father was already too late... When he arrived at the quarters which my mother was held, he only saw a lifeless and violated body of his once wife... Filled with devastation and anguish he went on a rampage just to kill the noble which led her wife to her own demise. My father succeeded but with the price of his own life... He was executed in the public... Beheaded... But my father didn't die filled with regret but instead he was smiling on whilst he was sentenced to death by beheading, he avenged mother and will finally be able to join her on the other side, before my father took his last breath he managed to scrape by his last words... "I'm sorry Wang'er, but me and your mother will always be waiting on the other said for you." My father died with a smile on his face... I then vowed to kill every rotten and filthy noble in this realm and the realms beyond this." Wang Xiu Ying then bursted and lots of tears were flowing out of her eyes down to her cheeks.

"I'm sorry for your loss, I can only offer you my condolence for that is the only thing i can do for you, i can't reverse life and death to bring back your dead parents, however. I can remove all of your scars which was the result of countless years, battling through your harsh fate."

Upon saying that, a pill appeared on the hands of Shen Zhang's father, it came from a seemingly normal ring carved out of wood which surprised Wang Xiu Ying as the Astral rings she always saw was made out of Sky Metal.

"Don't sweat the details, you won't figure it out. But before i give you this pill... You still haven't told me about why you were hunted by countless cultivators in the moonlight continent." Said Shen Zhang's father.

"Very well... After i vowed to exterminate all the living noble parasites in this realm i waited for three years which is 15 as a cultivator's Energy Core will only awaken once a person reaches 15 years old, though there were some rare case of cultivators awakening their cores 2 years prior to the normal age they are currently irrelevant for now. After my Energy Core awakened our local sect also announced that they are commencing their Sect Examination which will happen in 1 month from that day. When the Sect Examination came i was already at the 3rd stage of Qi refining which guaranteed me the first place of the Examination. After 1 year i reached Dantian Formation Stage which was my goal to slowly start my plan of eradicating rotten nobles from this world."

"I then started from the lower class nobles, identifying the scums among them, it was quite a daunting task as there were countless of lower class noble families in the moonlight continent but i managed to filter out the good ones from the scums. As i had the necessary information i then began my preparation for my extermination, i left my sect, bought a mask from the capital city in the moonlight continent which was supposed to release a heavy Qi Pressure if imbued with sufficient amounts of Qi just to protect the reputation of my old sect."

"After my preparation, i then initiated my plan. Eradication of useless and filthy noble parasites in this continent. One by one they all died by my hands, the satisfaction and the extreme ecstasy i felt when ending their filthy and worthless lives were too intoxicating for me to stop, i was then named a quite plain and bland name but it suited me the most "Noble Eradicator," However. My carnage came an end as i have tried to get rid of a high class noble family in the Moon Kingdom."

"So i carefully laid out my plans to put an end to a worthless High class Noble's life for good, i planed all the possible escape routes in case of emergency, scouted the premises of the household, disabled the arrays around the household one by one and bribed some servants and guards in the mansion for more information to lay down my perfect and unrivaled plan. Or so i thought... I was commencing my plan in the night, I walked past the guards undetected and assassinated the guards around the family head's quarters silently and flawlessly. I already killed the other family members so the family head is the only one left alive, after killing the guards around the family head's quarters, i immediately went and finish the job once and for all. Atleast that's what i wanted to happen."

"As i stabbed the family head's throat, some kind of array activated. It was unexpected for me... I never thought that arrays could be implemented on a human body. The array created a light barrier and released some form of energy wave in the whole mansion, then suddenly all the guards around the mansion immediately went towards the family head's quarters, it also woken up the noble family's head from his sleep."

"As the guards saw me in the room they then manage to surround me, putting me in a very dangerous situation as the slightest mistake could lead to my own demise, they then began to attack me using everything they've got at their disposal, attacking me with their strongest martial art technique, summoning their strongest beast, offensive talismans, everything you could imagine that you could use in case of a disadvantageous position"

"They were all High leveled Spirit Materialization Realm Cultivators which made it even harder to escape, but one of them accidentally made a blunder as a random guard pulled up a talisman but instead of throwing it to me, he accidentally let go of the talisman which created the opening for my great escape. Even though i regret not being able to kill the noble but he is now all alone, devastated and filled with anguish just like what i felt when my family died at the hands of a single rotten noble. That was the night where i have gotten most of my scars. And after that night, the family head of the noble house i targeted that day put on a bounty on me using the rest of his wealth as an exchange to bring my head to him. Unfortunately for him... Not only did i survive but i also killed all the bounty hunters." Wang Xiu Ying explained to Shen Zhang's father.

"That time when i met my husband was when i was because my cultivation was still unstable after my breakthrough and i was also starving from a week of continuous cultivation and i went to a restaurant, i didn't really pay attention to what kind of restaurant it is but it was a high class restaurant, when a staff saw me enter they immediately chased me out while another staff pushed me coincidentally revealing my scarred body which made it a very unpleasant sight to see and combined with their assumption of me being a beggar, they kicked me out of the restaurant whilst saying some irritating words to me."

"First of all, i understand the meaning behind your actions and i don't have the right to judge your actions because even i would've done the same. Second, I already knew you were true to your words since the very start, it was only because im worried about Shen Zhang so i hope you understand. Third, you mentioned something about your recent breakthrough... If so... Then how come your still stuck at the Highest level of Spirit Materialization realm? I don't believe you can beat tons of Cultivators the same level as you," Shen Zhang's father stated.

Wang Xiu Ying then began to get rid of her necklace that was hidden all this time which also made Shen Zhang's father quite astonished as he didn't know that there was still a treasure that his Insight couldn't pass through.

As Wang Xiu Ying got rid of her necklace, an overwhelming aura covered her body which made it seem like she herself was a deity, the necklace hid her true cultivation realm which then revealed her true realm after being taken off, she was at Aura Enveloping Realm.

"Thank you father. If it isn't rude to ask but why do you keep acting like an ordinary father with no cultivation around your son when you have a higher cultivation realm than me?" Wang Xiu Ying asked Shen Zhang's father.

"I just felt like it," Said Shen Zhang's father in response to Wang Xiu Ying's question.

Shen Zhang's father was lying. The reason behind him acting like a normal human was to help Shen Zhang become independent and responsible with his actions, for example... If you have a family then you found out that you have an unrivaled talent in the continent but your family is but a lowly commoner in the continent, you can either continue to make use of your talent and become stronger than those of higher descent than yours but putting your family in danger because of the nobles pride and jealousy of not letting anyone of lower descent accomplishing something that they haven't achieved. On the contrary, if you choose to conceal your talent and act as if you are an average citizen while slowly building up your influence and power till you can prove that you are able to protect your family and yourself from selfish and arrogant people. With that being said, of course Shen Zhang's father already knew of Shen Zhang's talent however he chose to act like he was clueless as his son was making the right choice and didn't feel the need to reveal the fact that he knew all along.

"I see..." Wang Xiu Ying said, she knows that there's a reason behind it and not just because 'he felt like doing it' but she chose to keep it inside her and trust Shen Zhang's father and not interfere with it.

"Oh yeah, what should i call you father?" Wang Xiu Ying asked Shen Zhang's father.

"I am the one who cannot be named..." Said Shen Zhang's father in response to Wang Xiu Ying's question.

"..." Wang Xiu Ying was once again thrown into a state of confusion but then ultimately decided to ignore it.

They continued for several minutes talking about Shen Zhang till they heard a familiar voice...

"Father! I'm home!"
