30 Mission success

Striking fear into the heart of everyone who heard that Earth-shaking sound of rumbling, the spell started showing its true worth by finally launching the attack.

Boom!

Quickly closing his eyes, Axel unconsciously hugged Meili and surprised her by covering her eyes as well.

Even though he couldn't see what happened, Axel could barely sense that the first lightning struck the dome that was protecting them and only then it was bounced off of it and struck the cultivators who were already blinded.

Turning into ash even before they could say anything, the entire second floor completely disappeared leaving only the three of them inside the dome unhurt.

Who were they kidding? Not only did they dare look at the Heavenly lightning of death but even stood straight instead of running? If they weren't asking to die, what else were they doing?

After all, not even real Gods and Deities dared to embrace the Heavenly lightning of death, much less mortals who couldn't even survive a bullet through their body.

Honestly, Axel had no way to ever use this special spell because it called forth the same lightning which Sovereign Deities used to punish or kill fellow Gods and Demons.

Therefore, as soon as he summoned it, Axel's existence would immediately be found out by every single God.

Luckily, due to the Goddess inside the coffin just waking up, there weren't many Sovereign Deities who could try and peek to see what was happening here making it possible for him to do whatever he wanted.

Unfortunately, even though he finally managed to use the spell, Axel couldn't even open his eyes and see the beauty of it.

Actually, if not for the dome which was suppressing the sound outside by many times, Axel wouldn't even be able to walk out after the spell was finished while still maintaining his sense of sound.

"What is happe... "

Before Meili could finish speaking, the second lightning struck down with even more intensity and created a huge hole inside the island while turning everything it touched into dust.

BOOM!

BBBOOOOOMMMMMM!

With the lightning strikes turning stronger and more intense as they continued raining down on the entire island, the Goddess inside coffin began cursing Axel for being so cruel.

As someone who had a temple on this island herself, the Goddess couldn't bear to watch it being destroyed while not being able to do anything to stop it.

Luckily though she couldn't actually see and could only sense her temple and the various others being turned into dust from the never-ending barrage of lightning.

"You brat! Did you think I'd support you even after you destroyed my temple?! I'll.... "

Wincing as the Goddess's voice was cut off by the lightning which struck their dome with time, Axel quickly said, "You won't have another choice, honey. As long as you look at my face, you'll be forced to stand by my side for all eternity."

Not too long after Axel finished, another lightning struck somewhere else on the island which was now looking like a sieve from the sky.

Quickly speaking to not be cur odd by the lightning, the Goddess said, "In that case, I'll just keep my eyes closed for all eternity!"

In the middle of all of this, Meili who couldn't see anything kept on trembling from just imagining what was happening outside.

...

After almost fifteen minutes of the non-stop lightning disaster, all that was left on the island was a single round piece of ground with a coffin and two humans on it.

Opening his eyes finally after sensing that the lightning outside died down, Axel who saw the dome covering them disappear felt chills going down his spine from just imagining how destructive the lightning probably was and what would've happened if he was caught in it.

Would his near Immortal body manage to survive against it when even some Gods themselves die?

Letting go of Meili once everything was over, Axel suddenly felt dizzy with the mark of lightning in the middle of his palm disappearing.

After all, now that the blessing he was given by Freya was leaving, Axel couldn't help suddenly turn weak and start trembling as his movement turned slurry.

Falling on the coffin, Axel started trying to use all his strength to push open the lid and make the Goddess see her before he fainted.

Unfortunately, just as he managed to open the coffin a little, he completely lost all sunsets and fell unconscious.

Sighing in relief the Goddess said, "Mortal woman, push this brat aside and open the coffin. I'll let you.... "

Not bothering to listen any longer, Meili closed the slightly opened lid and lifted the fainted Axel up.

"Sigh... I should just drop you in the river and take the Goddess for myself... But.... "

Sighing once again, Meili fought against the temptation for some reason because she felt that if she harmed Axel or tried to open the coffin she would die immediately, she picked the coffin up as well and began flying away.

...

"Quite smart."

Sheeting the jian sword inside her sash with a smile, the woman with lustrous black hair said, "As expected of a woman from my Mythology. We always choose men over our personal gains."

Turning around and flying away, Xuannu who had been following Axel the entire time since the beginning of his trip in Egypt began debating if she should pay Aphrodite a visit and let her know what the result of prying too much in her matter was.
