28 Dark Pheonix Pendant

"Here, hold my hand."

Looking weirdly towards Axel, Meili didn't say anything and took hold of his hand to see what he planned on doing.

She honestly didn't have any idea on what he was planning on doing and if it was even possible to get near the Temple of Isis with so many cultivators surrounding it.

Seeing the sun's light barely peeking over the horizon, Axel who spent his childhood around five Sovereign Deities began sensing the changes in the air.

The more the sun was turning visible, the more Axel could feel the changes in the air.

It was only barely sensible in the beginning and only he could sense them, but soon the entire air started trembling with the Wind forming a tornado around the entire island.

Though the tornado wasn't causing any damage or destroying anything, it did manage to stop anyone that planned to get on the island or leave.

Seeing this Axel guessed that it wasn't a natural thing and rather the Goddess who was going to wake up was doing this because of one reason or the other.

Understanding that this his chance since the howling of the wind would hide the sound made by his feet, Axel quickly pulled out something from his Spatial Bracelet.

A moon-shaped pendant made out of silver-coloured jade with long and beautiful black feathers hanging off the bottom end.

"This.... "

Gasping for breath from just seeing the pendant, Meili couldn't say or do anything before Axel tightened his grip over her hand and pulled her as he jumped to the Temple of Isis.

What happened next however was completely mind-numbing for those who were doing it and those who knew what was happening.

Axel and Meili upon leafing the Temple of Horus behind literally blended with the darkness of the night.

After all, what Axel was using right now was a treasure which Xuannu created herself and gave him.

The Dark Pheonix Pendant. An item which had zero offensive or defensive abilities but allowed the wielder to completely hide themselves and any one or thing they were in contact with using the natural darkness of the world.

And what better time than the present to hide his body in the darkness and land on top of the Temple of Isis than right now?

Landing on the stone temple roof, the two of them didn't waste time and lowered themselves to enter through the window of the second floor.

Once they did so, Axel who saw the changes in the air intensifying guessed that the goddess noticed his entrance.

That was why she tried to push the fake doors placed in front of the entrance to her temple away.

Unfortunately, the cultivators didn't seem to think so due to which they used all their strength to keep the entrance closed unless someone sneaked in and ended up getting all of them killed by the top brass due to it.

"What is this?"

Now that they were inside the temple, Meili no longer held herself back and began interrogating Axel on what that pendant which just did the impossible was.

Absorbing the darkness of the world to hide themselves, such a treasure was something she didn't think could exist.

"Huh? My future wife gave it to me."

Rolling her eyes thinking that Axel was making up crap to not reveal the truth, Meili said, "The birth house is deeper that way. You should enter it because Gods and Kings are always born during the time of sunrise."

Nodding his head while looking at the sun which was now slowly starting to peek out of the horizon, Axel didn't say anything else and started to walk towards the birth house while being careful of anyone that might have entered before him or was here to guard against intruders.

Walking very slowly Axel managed to witness a miracle as soon as he entered the birth house.

Inside the room which was completely empty other than the murals on the walls, Axel and Meili could see the entire room being lit up due to a bright golden ball floating in the centre of the room.

The ball was the goddess?

Sighing as he saw the golden ball growing bigger and bigger until it finally turned into a golden coffin, Axel after sensing that there was no longer the slightest sound or disturbance outside guessed that everything was over.

Therefore, he quickly stretched his hand forward to push open the lid on the coffin when a loud voice interrupted him.

"Stop!"

Looking around, Axel was now sure that the voice had come out of the coffin.

"What is it?"

"Don't.... Don't open the lid... I'll give you anything you want if you don't open the lid.... "

Chuckling from sensing the desperation in her voice, Axel smiled and asked, "Is there someone here that you've chosen to support?"

"Yes!"

Thinking that Axel was willing to listen, the goddess spoke in an excited tone and almost confessed about who it was when his hand touched the lid which had her painting on it.

"Too bad, cause you're mine."

Putting some strength into it, Axel while ignoring the loud scream from inside the coffin was just about to push it open when he suddenly hugged Meili and jumped to the side.

Bang!

Looking at the wall where a bullet had penetrated, Axel peeked to see someone standing at the entrance of the birth house with a gun in his hand.

And behind him were god knows how many other cultivators with more guns waiting to turn Axel's body into a sieve of he appeared in front of them.
