1 Disowned and Reowned

Day after day, night after night, month after month, year after year. I never really had a place to call home as I'm always moving place to place.

It's due to the fact that I don't have any parents and my other family relatives find it as a burden to even have me stay in their homes. I honestly stopped caring though since all they wanted was the money that comes with me.

Before my parents died they made sure to have written a will, but on their will everything was given to me. My family relatives found it repulsive and became greedy.

Every home I stayed was only life threatening since they each came with ways of trying to kill me, but I fought back and asked to live with the next family.

Not a single person who I have left as family has shown me compassion. Once I am to turn 18, I can leave on my own and properly take the things my parents have left me.

After I had finish packing my belongings, I left my aunts place, only giving her the coldest of stares I can muster, stopping in front of her, "Thank you for the lovely stay, but I find it best that live else where since you tried to poison me. Good luck with life... as you're going to need it."

Her face scowled in anger, not from my words, but for catching her right in the act. My aunt wasn't the first to try to poison me, but people with the mind of greed are the kind I watch out for and which has made me lose all trust in others. Since then I've only cooked my own meals.

The reason I wasn't able to this time, because I had fallen ill. During this time of season I've always fallen ill since the cold weather makes my immune system weak, but I make sure to heal myself since I'm sure they'll try to give me the wrong kind of medicine.

Giving my bags to the chauffer, I entered the luxurious black car without giving that place a second glance.

"Excuse me, Ms. Hollow there's only one last place for you to go to and I might be stepping out line when I say this, but can consider staying at this place until you're 18."

I looked at the chauffer who suggested that idea, it can be possible, but how long until they actually succeed in killing me.

"Maybe. We'll see, Mr. Clermont," is all I said to the elderly man who has been my driver since I was just a girl. Oh how much he's aged, his once dark brown hair now the color of grey, his head full of hair, but has been thinning lately, his green eyes still the same as ever, the wrinkles on face that is very noticeable due to his age, and the ring he still wears on his fourth left finger even though his wife had passed a long while ago from cancer.

The closest person I have as family, although not blood related, but he has cared for me that others have not even thought of doing so. This man has been with my father since he was in highschool.

Looking away from the man, I stare out the window, watching the pine trees become this green blur, after a roar of thunder, rain starts to fall, splattering onto the car one by one. Feeling relaxed, I start to drift off, as I haven't got the best of sleep, since I'm always on high alert.

*Flashback 10 years ago*

I woken up to thunder and lightening, scared I go into my parents room, but don't find them there. Heading down the stairs, I see the front door opened, the lights I once had on suddenly had turned off. A little frightened I head to the door to close it, but what I witnessed is unimaginable. Running outside I find my parents unconscious on the floor, as I got closer I find their bodies full of blood, leaking out from different areas, the life from their eyes gone. Terrified, I run back into my home, tears falling down my face, I head straight into my room. locking the doors behind me, I went into my closet, and hid in the small hidden room my parents created in case of anything like this happens.

Hiding silently, holding my breathe, I heard my door knob jingling uncontrollably. With three thuds to the door, someone enters my room, "Come out little girl, I won't hurt you. I just need you to come with me." Using my hands to hold my breath, this man walks around and looking around my room to find me. Hearing a few fragile thinks being broken, furniture being tossed, he almost gives up til I hear his footsteps approaching the closet. He opens it harshly moving my clothes, only to find nothing, but clothes.

A sound of curse words left his mouth, within seconds more people come into my room, "Did you find her?" A few murmurs of no's were said, agitated the man grabs one of the closest doors and it slams against a wall nearby. As he was about to yell at the others his phone goes off, answering his phone the man hangs up in seconds, "Alright, the master says we're done here, we'll get the girl some other time, let's go."

Leaving one by one, no one is around, I didn't dare to leave from spot, afraid that it might be a trap to lure me out. What felt like hours, sirens were coming closer and closer, soon enough I heard my name being called, "Ms. Hollow! Ms. Hollow! Rose Hollow! Where are you?" My name has been called by strangers, none who I trust, until a small knock was heard on the wall. Opening it slowly, I see the man who is our chauffer, relieved to see his face, I crawl to his arms, holding him with dear life, crying to hearts content. Only knowing the dreadful feeling I have been holding in.

*Flashback over*

The car comes to a stop, Mr. Clermont exits the driver side, I quickly wipe away the single tear that escaped from my eye. This is my other reason why I dislike sleeping, I'm always reliving the same hell that I called a nightmare. My door is opened for me, with a gloved hand extended for me to take.

Looking at my new place of living isn't like anything else, this place is actually a mansion, and not the up to date kind. This place actually looks very distinguish, with its old architecture chipping away ever so slowly, and with the dark angry clouds this place could be haunted. Although its foolish for things such as ghosts to even exist.

"What did you think Ms. Hollow? The outside may seem spooky, but the inside might be a different story." I look to Mr. Clermont with a gentle gaze, "It's a peculiar place. I'm sure the inside will be much more appealing."

I helped Mr. Clermont with my bagged items as I wouldn't want the old man to be carrying everything, but as I helped the elderly man, what I didn't know were a pair of eyes watching me from the 4th floor window.
