22 Chapter 21: Blackmail

Fiona's POV

Ever since the day before yesterday, Rojen seems like not the way he is before. The way he talk to me and everything has changed and I don't know why. We barely talk lately because he said that he had work already and is busy with that.

I'm glad that he had work already even though it was just temporary but I don't like the way he is now. He totally changed. He got home late already and he said that I don't need to fetch him because he'll come home late.

"Is it because he had work already?" I whispered. "Maybe he's just tired or focused on his work. Maybe that is." I continued.

I just prepared myself and took a bath because I had to go to work too. I'll just had to think that Rojen's was doing this so that he can bring his bracelet back.

"Or is he mad at me because I pledge his bracelet?"

Maybe no. If he is mad at me because of that then he can already be mad at me before, right? I don't think so.

I just shaked my head and prepared myself to go to work.

Rojen's POV

I don't know if what am I doing is right. But I am doing this for the sake of Fiona.

(At the rooftop two days ago)

"Selene? What are you doing here?" I asked, nervous.

I didn't know that she was allowed to go here.

"Well. I'm just here to visit ROJANE earlier. But then I think there was no one so I walk towards the back of Fiona's room to check if there is really no one here. But then oh... I saw the clothes rack with the clothes of a man and Fiona's but there's nothing for Rojane. So I decided to tell Ms. Letty about something-"

"What did you tell her?" I asked with a high-pitched tone.

"Oh... Don't be so aggresive, Rojen. I just wanted to borrow the key of your room to check if ROJANE might be sick and Fiona isn't there so that I can give her medicine and food. Well, I just reasoned it out so that Ms. Letty will let me borrow the key." she said.

"How could you do this? Why are doing this, Selene?" I asked.

"I should be the one who's asking you that." She hissed. "All this time you're doing this to me? You lied!" She continued.

"We're not lying. We're just hiding." I reasoned out.

"It's all the same! You know that I like you Rojen but you kept on doing this to me." She said.

"I don't like you."

"I don't care!" She shouted. "Well now that I had already know the truth, I can't just let this pass. Goodbye, Rojen. I'll tell Ms. Letty about all of this."

"Selene. Wait!" I stopped her. She turns her attention towards me and smiled strangely. "Please don't do that. Don't do this to me especially to Fiona. Please." I said, begging.

"Okay." She suddenly replied. "But in one, two, and three. Yes, three conditions." she said and while counting on her fingers.

"Anything." I said.

"First, be my boyfriend-"

"Wait? What?!"

"I'm gonna tell Ms. Letty."

"Don't!"

She just chuckled.

"Second, don't get too close to Fiona, I don't like you being close to her. Just don't and Third, you are only allowed to go out with me. Well, you're allowed to go out with your co workers and Mr. Pome and to any of your friends but you're only allowed to go out with me, not on the other girls. Even Fiona." she said. Her left eyebrow raised as a strange smile registered on his face.

I kept silent and I don't know what to answer. Relationship are just for those two people who loved each other, not like this.

"Okay, I'm gonna tell her. Bye."

"Wait!"

"Yes?"

I took a deep breath and hoping that what am I doing was right. It's for Fiona's sake.

"I... I-I agree." I said.

"Great! Let's have a date tomorrow, 6 p.m. don't be late." She said and walked away.

(End of flashback)

I cover my eyes with my two hands and thinking what should I do about this.

"Argh!"

"Why does it look like you're stressed? Is something wrong? Any problem?" Reech asked me. He's with his two friends.

Is suddenly straighten my back as I looked at them. Their eyes are questioning and it looked like they're waiting for my answer.

"Just a conflict with... ah... w-with a friend. Yes! With a friend."

Argh! I promise not to lie anymore. I can't take this!

"If you say so." Izen replied.

"Hey boys! How's work?" Mr. Fij suddenly asked in front of me.

I don't know but he has a really strange smile everytime I look at him. I just can't explain that there is something mysterious about this man.

"It was great, Mr. Fij. There's no problem with work." Art replied.

"Ok, then keep up the good work." He said and walked away.

But before he turns his back on us, his eyes landed on me and smiled at me with a strange expression. Like his eyes are telling something I don't know what.

"Mr. Fij was such a great manager, right? He never cares about his money. I mean he cares about his money but he cares more on us, his workers." Izen said.

"Yeah! That's why almost all of workers are in favor of Mr. Fij to be the manager." Reech replied.

I just didn'y focus on Mr. Fij. Instead we started our work again as the bell rang, sign that the breaktime is over.

Fiona's POV

Work, work, work! It's so tiring. There are lots of costumers today. Good thing the manager gave us extra payment. Not as big as what you thought.

"Finally! I can go home now and take a rest. I shouldn't wait for Rojen. I'm sure he'll come home late. Or maybe I just have to buy food first? I deserved a tasty one."

I just walked, as usual, to save money. I made sure that there are lots of people walking too. I don't want to get rubbed all of the sudden.

As I just walked with lots of people, I saw a familiar man walking not from the distance. It seems like I've seen him before.

The way he walk, his outfit, his aura, his bck and everything looked so familiar.

I focused my attention to him and then I just realized it was Rojen.

Yes! It was Rojen.

"I think I should surprise him." I said.

But my plan got stopped when I saw him with someone. And it's a woman. And worse, it was Selene.

He looked happy with her because of his smiles.

"What is happening?" I whispered.
