6 Chapter 6: Confrontation

Arashie took in a deep breath as she looked over the summoning circle she drew up. Despite the Usadas being such a big name, they had some very high defences, both physically and electronically. She tried to hack her way into the Usada Kensetsu website, but if she wasn't using a VPN, she probably would have been assassinated. With no other options, she decided to summon a familiar to infiltrate Usada Kensetsu. She opened up a tome she had prepared and started to chant. She averted her eyes as the summoning circle started to glow.

"Wah!" Arashie flinched as she heard a cute voice speak. Did I really summon her? I thought that was impossible!

She tentatively turned to see a short girl with long, purple hair and dark purple eyes, giant tentacles sprouting from the back of her short, purple dress. "N-Ninomae Ina'nis!" Arashie exclaimed. "I-is that really you?!"

"I hath been summoned!" Ina exclaimed. "I'm surprised, though. You're the second person who successfully summoned me, and the first person used a human soul."

"I-I'm honored to be in your presence," Arashe dipped her head. "I'm a huge fan."

"Thank you," Ina's smile winded. "So what did you need?"

"A-ah, I was looking for the address to the Usada household," Arashie explained. "I-I have reason to believe my friend is in danger."

"Oh, is your friend Takamura Kei by any chance?" Ina asked, tilting her head.

"H-how did you know?" Arashie flinched, shocked that Ina got the answer in one guess.

"I was at the wedding," Ina explained. "Kei seems like a nice person, but I can understand why you think his life is in danger. I'll provide you with the address."

"Thank you!" Arashie looked up at Ina, a wide smile on her face.

"Just stay safe, alright?" Ina said. "I don't want a fellow tako to hop into a load of trouble."

"I-I will," Arashie giggled softly at the bad joke. "Thank you for everything, Ina."

"Anytime," Ina chuckled as the circle started to glow again. "Don't be a stranger, okay? We're two takos on a plate, if you know what I'm saying."

"I w-won't," Arashie promised. With a flash of light, Ina vanished.

"Good morning," Kei rubbed his eyes as he walked into the kitchen. It seemed that Pekora had yet to wake up, although Pekomama had already prepared breakfast. "Is Pekora still asleep?"

"She had quite the day yesterday," Pekomama said, staring blankly at the table. "Did you hear what she did yesterday?"

"No, I haven't actually," Kei replied, his interest piqued.

"Well, I'm sure you'll find out soon enough," Pekomama instantly snapped back to her normal, cheery demeanor.

"What do you mean by tha-," Kei was cut off when he heard a knock on the door. "I'll get that."

"Stay safe, dear," Pekomama waved Kei off as if he was going to work or something. Normally, Kei would just brush it off as Pekomama being weird, but he knew better. Pekomama knew something. He considered chickening out, but dismissed the thought. He said he would, so he should keep his word. He walked over to the front door, which was thankfully not too far from the kitchen.

"Hello, who is i-," Kei said, opening the door. He was cut off when he felt something ram into his face, sending him flying a few feet backwards.

"W-where's… Kei?!" Kei opened his eyes just in time to match the face with the voice. His old co-worker, Arashie was standing on the front porch with a shocked and worried expression, six tentacles sprouting from her back. "I'm so sorry! Are you okay?! O-oh Matsuri, your eye!"

"Fine," Kei grumbled, standing up, ignoring the comment about his eye. He figured he got a black eye, but it was better than getting crushed by one Tokayami Towa and her . The tentacles would have freaked him out a bit more if he didn't see someone with tentacles at his wedding. "What brings you to our humble abode?"

"I-I was just worried c-considering Pekora's track record…" Arashie managed, flushing with embarrassment. Clearly, whatever fantasies that had been going off in her head clearly never came to fruition. "S-she's a war criminal, you know?"

"Eh, I haven't died yet," Kei rubbed the back of his neck. "How I managed to pull that off is beyond me, but it isn't Pekora trying to kill me."

"I-I see…" Arashie said, looking down. "S-sorry for the inconvenience."

"You should come in," Kei offered. "We were just about to have breakfast."

"A-are you sure it's okay?" Arashie asked.

"Sure, why wouldn't it be?" Kei asked.

"O-okay," Arashie stepped in the house, her tentacles receding into her back. Kei was happy to see Arashie again, but he was slightly worried of how Pekora would react. Arashie was a sweet girl, and she didn't deserve what depraved actions that his wife was capable of. Much to Kei's horror, Pekora was sitting with Pekomama in the kitchen.

"I see you're already having an affair-peko," Pekora narrowed her eyes. "Who's this?"

"Says the person with an actual harem," Kei shot back. Usually he was passive, but he didn't like that Pekora was assuming he was being unfaithful. He was so annoyed he didn't he didn't notice Arashie's face turning several shades of purple. "This is Arashie, a former coworker. She just came to make sure you hadn't killed me, right now."

"That's sweet," Pekora turned to Arashie, who visibly flinced. Much to Kei and Arashie's surprise, Pekora flashed the lady a thumbs up. "Nice job with the black eye, by the way."

"Play nice, you two," Pekomama smiled menacingly at her daughter, who shuddered, but backed off. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Arashie. Come, sit with us. I'll fix you a plate."

"T-thank you," Arashie and Kei took their seats. "S-so I heard you destroyed the Katakura Engineers building…"

"Hold up, you what?!" Kei practically shouted.

"Well I can't tolerate bigotry in my turf-peko," Pekora said simply. "Just be grateful Coco didn't get to him first or your old manager would have burnt to a crisp. Towa-sama granted him a quick death."

"Quite the angel," Kei heard Arashie mutter under her breath.

"I know, right?" Pekora smiled smugly at Arashie. "She's the nicest person I know."

"I'm not sure if I want to argue with you, but the only time I've seen Tokayami Towa was when she crushed a dinosaur person with a crane right before my eyes," Kei pointed out.

"W-wait, what?!" Arashie all but jumped out of her seat, glaring daggers into Pekora as she pushed her glasses up. "J-just what have you been putting him t-through?!"

"Hey, he asked-peko," Pekora shrugged. "He wanted to 'earn his keep here.'"

"Hey, it just feels wrong freeloading you guys," Kei sighed. "It's weird not actually having an actual job."

"Maybe you should work for-,"

"I refuse to work for that deranged bird," Kei cut Pekora off before she finished her sentence.

"D-deranged bird?" Arashie asked, looking back and forth between her friend and the war criminal in front of her. "A-am I missing something?"

Kei sighed deeply. "I guess I have a lot of explaining to do."

-

"T-that's quite the tale," Arashie sighed as Kei finished talking. "Did your parents really have connections with someone that important?"

"They were such sweet people," Pekomama sighed, a rare look of sadness in her eyes. "I just wish I had a little more time with them."

"Don't we all," Kei sighed. "I don't know why they hooked me up with Pekora of all people."

"W-well at least you're safe right now…" Arashie looked at Kei's wife and mother-in-law, trying her damndest to find a positive.

"Don't worry dear," Pekomama smiled softly at Arashie. "There are some powerful people trying to keep Kei safe."

"Yeah, even I wouldn't attack him with someone like him protecting Kei-peko," Pekora shuddered.

"W-who's protecting Kei?" Arashie tilted her head. In response, Pekora took out her phone, tapping on it before handing it to the tako-worker.

Ryan Shade Returns!

By: Hoshimachi Anemachi

After a month of next to no sightings of the war hero Ryan Shade, he has returned! KFP CEO Takanashi Kiara has been struggling without him. Even though she promised to close her restaurant while Ryan was on his vacation, she decided to stay open anyways. With his return, Ryan had an interesting move to make, furthermore. The first thing he said upon his return is that Takamura Kei, Pekora's new husband, was under his explicit protection. This upset a few of the people that were pining for Pekora, as a lot of them started planning attempts on the man's life. When asked, Ryan Shade had this to say. "I just don't want an innocent man to die, you know?" Shade said in an interview. "It's not like he asked for this to happen. Anyways, I'm trying to get to work, so can you guys kindly fuck off?" We're excited to see how things will go for Takamura Kei under the protection of such a powerful man.

"Well," Kei said, leaning over to read the article along with Arashie, "that's quite something. Never knew Ryan was that famous."

"I-I guess Kei will be safe if that's the case," Arashie heaved a sigh of relief. "I-I guess I got worried over nothing."

"Don't worry about it," Kei chuckled dryly. "If any of my friends went off and married Pekora, I would probably be worried too."

"Hey! I'm not that bad-peko!" Pekora shouted, obviously offended.

"I've had my life threatened on a daily basis," Kei deadpanned.

"Okay, but it was my friends trying to kill you. Not me," Pekora countered.

"Well control your friends," Kei shot back simply.

"If you know how to do that, then please tell me-peko!" Pekora pouted, crossing her arms in a huff.

"Fair enough," Kei sighed. "Anyways, it was nice of you to stop by, Arashie."

"I-It's nice to know you're safe, Kei," Arashie smiled. "B-before I go… is it p-possible for me to get your new number? I-It would be awkward for me to summon Ina every time I want to get in contact with you…"

"Hold up-peko," Pekora held her hands in the shape of an X. "You summoned Ina?! I thought that was impossible!"

"I-I did too," Arashie looked down.

"Here, just add your contact," Kei handed Arashie his phone.

"I can't believe you're already getting other girls' numbers-peko," Pekora looked at Kei cheekily. "What about the sanctity of our marriage?"

"Pekora, please," Kei pinched the bridge of his nose.

"H-here's your phone," Arashie handed Kei back his phone before standing up. "I-I shouldn't intrude any longer."

"Feel free to stop by anytime," Kei gave Arashie a warm smile.

"This isn't your house-peko," Pekora pouted.

"Kei is a member of this family now, and his friends can come over whenever they like," Pekomama corrected.

"Yes mama," Pekora drawled. "It was nice meeting you, Arashie."

"N-nice to meet you too," Arashie probably noticed the sarcasm in Pekora's voice, but decided not to speak on it. "I-I'll see you around."

"Yeah," Kei's smile widened. "I'll see you around."

"For the last time, Tenchou, me going on vacation for a month isn't a reason to spend all day ground pounding Calli while I work all day," Ryan groaned, swatting Kiara over the head. Ryan expected Kiara to turn to him and say something snappy, but she just slowly turned to look at Ryan, a look of dread on her face.

"I think you might want to look at this…" Kiara, who was looking at her phone, showed it to Ryan. Ryan instantly recognized The Garlic Router and a video of what seemed to be like a motorcycle race. He then saw three people with red outfits with an "M" on their chest. Ryan didn't think much of it until he saw what they were doing. The three men zeroed in on a girl who seemingly used thorny vines to assist a sharp turn. One of the men elbowed the girl in the face, causing her to lose her balance. As she toppled over, rolling on the ground, the three men made sure to run her over. Ryan's eyes then drifted towards the title.

"Well shit," Ryan said, his clothes shimmering from his KFP uniform to his standard black hoodie and sweats. "Looks like I'm going to be paying the VShojo gals a visit."

Storm sighed as stood up, his chair dissolving into the void as he did. Since Aloe had more free reign to hang out with her friends, the man often found time to himself. "What to do now," he muttered to himself. "Maybe I should go visit Shade."

As his mask materialized in his hand, he snapped around, noticing magical energy spiking not too far from him. As he did, he saw a woman with green twin tails and pink eyes stumble into his domain. "W-wha…?" The woman inhaled sharply, her eyes widening in what seemed to be shock.

"State your business," Storm placed his mask on his face as he approached the intruder, a kris appearing in his left hand. "Who are you?"

"M-my name is Delutaya," The woman looked up at Storm, still recovering from whatever shock she was experiencing. "W-where am I?"
