Of course not, darling

Her heart thumped faster and louder against her chest as she stared at her hand. It really was beautiful. And it was a reminder of an impending future that she wasn't completely sure of.

Her lips parted, as if she was about to speak; however, she didn't know what to say at this moment.

Fei Huangjin glanced at the complicated expression on her face and an amused smile crept on his lips. "Now, will you tell me what made you ask if I knew your brother?"

She whipped her head to him with a frown. "Are you only giving me the ring to make me talk?"

The question she threw out was met with a deep chuckle. She could really be extremely sensitive and extremely dense sometimes. His eyes were crinkling at the corners as he looked at her adorably. "Of course not, darling. That ring was already yours to begin with."

Her pink lips turned up into an obvious pout, until it looked like someone could hang their coat there.

Fei Huangjin sighed. It seemed like he had to be the one to start this conversation. "Ying Yue, we're about to get married. And although you agreed to marrying me so you could protect yourself and investigate the matter with your brother, I'd like to stress that this relationship is still real, and that we'll be living with each other for a long, long time. I have no plans of divorcing you or marrying anyone else. I don't want anyone else. I don't know if you will ever feel that way for me. But we have to be more open if we want this to work."

The words stabbed at her chest, hitting her heart perfectly like a bullet from a sniper. He was right; they had to be more open if they wanted this to work. Besides, he gave her access to the entire Dragon Club base. That in itself meant that he had no intention of hiding anything from her -- especially anything about her brother. But that also proved that he didn't know who Ying Shen is.

But that room…

Ying Yue shook her head gently. She really had to trust him more. "You know, I technically didn't have to marry you to get the Jade Circle off my back. I could've disappeared, or change my looks and take up a new identity. But you're…" She swallowed the hard lump trying to block her off from speaking more. "You're you."

You're you? Fei Huangjin's brows furrowed and his hands tightened on her. The questioning look on his face made Ying Yue sigh, and she leaned over to circle her arms around his neck and stick her chin on his shoulder. She wanted to hide her face from him when she said what she really needed to say.

"I like you, you know. More than I expected." She told him sheepishly.

Fei Huangjin froze. He blinked a few times before a wide lopsided smile broke out on his face. It was only a matter of time before he was going to get her to be head over heels for him. He tried to hold back from making a sound, but no matter how much he tried to bite his lip and tamp it down, a girlish squeak bubbled out.

They both momentarily paused. The glimmer of the ring seemed like it was shining even brighter.

They ended up laughing at each other.

And both hearts were at peace for once.

Ying Yue snuggled up to him closer and traced her nose on his neck, inhaling that woody and minty scent on him. "Ying Shen left me a clue, and I found a piece of that clue in here."

"Here?" Fei Huangjin stilled.

She nodded. She started recounting to him about the photo that he left her, down to realizing the photo showed M-8927 on his wrist, and that she had disappeared to search high and low for everything related to it. "But today, I ended up at the floor with the special agents' quarters..." she gazed at him intensely. "There was a door with Mike 8927 on it."

Fei Huangjin narrowed his eyes at her. Did she think her brother must have stayed there?

"The special agents' quarters are for special agents. Your brother was an agent of the Jade Circle."

His statement made her feel a little hurt, but Ying Yue knew it was nothing but the truth. "For the sake of my peace of mind, could you open the room for me? I just want to check it out."
