219 He's my friend

The doctor showed Ying Yue the chest x-rays they had of Fei Huangjin, explaining to her that he shouldn't be put into any sort of physical exhaustion for the next couple of weeks. "His lung needs to heal, and so does his wound. He shouldn't be jogging around anytime soon, and no nighttime activities as well."

"Nighttime activities?" She frowned.

He gave her a pointed look. "Nighttime activities with the wife."

Oh.

As if the embarrassment with the old master Fei wasn't enough, the doctor had to remind her of this one, too. Two patches of pink started to bloom on her cheeks. "Yes, thank you, doctor."

"You're welcome, Mrs. Fei." The doctor started conversing with the station nurse about another patient. Ying Yue didn't mean to eavesdrop, but she still hadn't decided if she should go back to Fei Huangjin's room already, so she ended up awkwardly standing there.

"Doctor Fu, I heard that you were the one who attended to that car accident patient last night!"

"Mmm. I was on my way home when I saw the car crash."

Ying Yue turned to leave. She shouldn't stay around the nurse's station without reason, so she'd just have to make her way back to Fei Huangjin's room and face his grandfather again.

"That must have been alarming! Has anyone figured out his identity yet? I heard the other ward nurses say that he didn't have an I.D. on him."

"Well, fortunately, the car registration wasn't damaged in the dashboard compartment, so the police found out his name was Xi Shenghui."

Ying Yue froze.

"Thank the heavens, then!"

Xi Shenghui? Did he say Xi Shenghui? Ying Yue turned, her feet carrying her back to the station. By then, the doctor and the nurse were surprised to see her there again, and the look of curiosity on their faces couldn't be hidden.

"Mrs.F--"

"Doctor, did you say Xi Shenghui? Xi Shenghui got into a car accident?" She was holding back from shaking the man to get an answer. "Where is he? Is he alright? I need to see him!"

Big Boss… Mo Yiling… and now Xi Shenghui. To top it all off, Fei Huangjin was hurt and Song Yinan was still missing. Was she cursed? Was something going to happen to everyone around her?

"Where is he?" She repeated.

He blinked. "Are you a family member of the patient, Mrs. Fei?"

"He's my--" She paused. What was Xi Shenghui to her exactly? A brother in arms? Friend? Bodyguard? She gulped. "He's my friend."

The doctor pursed his lips. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Fei, as per hospital protocol, I cannot disclose information about the patient to a non-family member without the patient's consent."

"Then get his consent!" She reasoned. "Tell him I'm here and that I want to see him."

He frowned and glanced at the nurse before turning back to Ying Yue. "Well, you see, the patient is still unconscious, Mrs. Fei."

Ying Yue felt like there was a hard lump in her throat, and there was a momentary pang of grief that struck her. She glanced at the nurse with a guarded look. "Transfer him to a private room and charge all his hospital bills to my account. If he wakes up--" she shook her head, "WHEN he wakes up, let me know right away."

She turned, hurrying back to Fei Huangjin's room, and she breathed a sigh of relief when she found it empty save for the man she married.

Fei Huangjin turned to look at her with a smile, but the smile immediately shifted to a frown when he noticed her troubled expression. "What's wrong?" Who do I need to kill?

"Hubby," she rushed to his side and put her arms carefully around his neck, melting his defenses away and making him feel like he'd do just about anything to make her happy.

"What happened?" He kissed her temple reassuringly.

Ying Yue grimaced silently. She didn't know if she should laugh or get worried. Now, how was she going to tell him that she'd asked the hospital to charge another man's bills to his account? Moreover, how should she tell him she needed to check up on that man, too?
