131 Didn't know you were so nice

"He's near the 14th hole."

"Then I'll start with the 15th and take my time there." Ying Yue eyed the caddie assigned to her, who was busy getting her equipment and putting them in the golf cart. "Remind me again why you can't come over here and be my caddie?"

There was a snort on the other end of her earpiece. "I'm a tech guy, not a field spy. And I already paid for that caddie I booked for you."

"Oh, thank goodness. I didn't know you were so nice." She walked over and sat down on the cart.

"I'm not. I wired it from your monthly salary at Juyan."

"Yiling!"

He smirked, "Are you sure you even know how to play golf?"

She pursed her lips in annoyance. "Of course, I do. In case you don't remember, I learned and trained on golf for one of my missions before."

"Whatever you say," he chuckled.

She took off the earpiece and carefully slipped it into her skirt pocket.

The banter made Ying Yue both amused and annoyed. To protect her identity, Mo Yiling was the only one from the tech team allowed to handle her missions. And over the years of always hearing him through the earpiece and coordinating with him on almost everything, they'd grown to understand each other quite well. He was a lot like family, just like Big Boss.

Indeed, life may have taken her family from her, but at least she gained two brothers. And Fei Huangjin. She gained him too.

A brief flash of guilt crossed her as she recalled why she was here in the first place, but she brushed it off with a shake of the head.

"Should we start at the first hole?"

The caddie sat beside her and turned on the golf cart, drawing her out of her reverie. "No, let's start with the fifteenth." She looked away, far across the grass land.

The fifteenth hole was quite a vast expanse of grass from the starting point where Ying Yue stood. The weather wasn't exactly too warm, but sweat was already lining her back, and she tried to peel the shirt off her back to get some air in. She discreetly tried to eye the surroundings for any sign of Su Jianjun. At that moment, there was none.

Ying Yue took an irons golf club from the caddie and positioned herself at the starting point. With some mental calculation, it would probably take her three or four swings to get to the hole.

She wasn't in a rush, though. She turned her body a little sideways and swung.

The ball flew in the air, landing two-thirds of the way towards the hole.

She started walking towards it slowly. When she did get there, she spotted what seemed like Su Jianjun and some other man arriving at the starting point. Her lips curved up inconspicuously and she took her time positioning herself, even making a few practice swings.

It wasn't long before a ball landed a few feet from her. With a serious look on her face, Ying Yue stuck out her butt, turned, and swung.

Pak.

"Miss Ying?" A soft voice was carried by the wind to her ear, and she turned her head to see Su Jianjun walking towards her with a look of disbelief.

"Director Su?" Her eyes widened in surprise, and she blinked repeatedly to make a show of it. If that wasn't good acting, she didn't know what was. "What are you doing here?"

The man beside Su Jianjun briefly glanced at her and quickly lowered his head, tucking his cap even lower. He whispered something to Su Jianjun before walking off in the opposite direction.

She frowned. That man… He looked familiar. Where had she seen him before?

Su Jianjun waved at her with a grin. "What a coincidence. I didn't expect you to play golf."

Ying Yue glanced back at him with a shy smile. "I play sometimes on my days off," she replied.

He nodded. "This is good. I can be with you without having to ask you out. Do you mind if I join you?"

"Well…" she scratched her neck, as if she was hesitating, but in the end, she acquiesced. "Okay."
