My beloved sister

Ailyn quavering steps stopped when a loud blast came from the bathroom. Swallowing her fear in, she turned her head to look back.

Her eyes flickered in disbelief, taking a step back. The walls of the bathroom showed clear signs of a huge crack, as if the whole wall would break down into pieces any second.

Involuntary, she rushed to check what happened. Seeing the sight in front of her, Ailyn slipped onto the water that had leaked from the pipes and fell hard onto the wet floor.

Her breathing turned sporadic the more she tried to grasp onto the situation. With trembling limbs, Ailyn tried to crawl away from there, from that monster.

With those rippling water leaking through the pipes, and flickering light bulbs and broken pieces of concrete shattered everywhere. A shadowy person stood in the middle, dripped in water.

A mysterious murky fog covering all his body. His long dangling claws are pointy and sharp; grabbing her arms and hurling her mercilessly towards the toilet. Ailyn didn't even get a chance to react before her head hit the corner of the toilet, scraping her.

The monster started to walk towards Ailyn slowly as if a force was holding it back from going close to her. The mist slowly fading yet it was way denser to look through.

Taking the chance, Ailyn got up from the floor, her legs still wobbly from the trauma. She still grasps on her balance and ambles towards the door with the support from cracked walls.

Ailyn somehow walked past it, even his arms tried to grab her. Seeking the opportunity, she ran straight to the door, but curiosity took hold of her, and she couldn't help turn her around to look right into the monster, his body was made with black fumes and with nothing else. No face or anything, just four pairs of limbs.

A fear of uneasiness rooted into her. It was not scary. Neither looked gruesome but her body felt more horror than anything. The air was heavy, even breathing in it was hard, almost choking her.

Ailyn tried to take a step backward further away from her, even though her eyes were fixated on the monster in front, her upper body refusing to move.

Being fully focused on the being in front of her eyes, her steps were misplaced causing her to lose balance and trip on the floor again. Her ankle twisted in pain and blood oozing out from the head and the creature started to move up to her again with heavy steps.

Ailyn tremble in terror, seeing the giant creature marching closer and closer, she tried to move away or backened away but her body didn't move a bit it froze to the ground as if something heavy pressed on to her body.

The slender claws outstretched to gag her neck and in a paralysed state with an invisible weight crushing on to her skeleton. Voice stuck deep in her throat, and helplessly her eyes watched as claw strangled her to death.

Her body motionless suspended in the mid air, with a claw strangling her. Ailyn's soul screeched for help wanting to fight but nothing came out. Tears rolled down her pale cheeks, thinking this was going to be the end of her life.

"Augustus!" A woman's voice came through the door. The creature seemed to react to the woman's voice and the pressure on Ailyn's body.

The claw released her neck, plopping her straight onto the floor. Ailyn inhaled air from her mouth, as if she came out of death. Her breath spasmodic, her hands still shaking from the shock.

With irregular breathing and eyes full of tears, she slowly looked up. The mist covering person was no longer there, a woman dressed elegantly ran towards August and held on his upper arm before he fell on the ground.

Ailyn's pupil dilated not being incredulity on everything that happened in front of her. That monster….was August?

Azrael gave a glared at the terrorized Ailyn. She didn't pity her, it was fun to see. If her life and power were not trouble she would have enjoyed the show with popcorn.

***

Azrael was piqued with his silence after he acted like a crybaby at dawn. At least a thank you for that suit she brought for him. What a weirdo. In annoyance, Azrael left for Niflheim before she burned his soul in a never dying hellfire.

Azrael transported herself to the library, which was eerie like usual. Souls that died during her absence, remain frozen in time.

The whole Niflheim time stops when she leaves, the moment she steps on the ground. It comes back to life. Seeing the line of dead souls, Azrael clenches her jaws with a glare that sends chill through the spine and dead ones are no exception.

She didn't spare extra time on putting them into their assigned books. Once done with all, her eyes trail at the book with red leather.

"Missing your old lover?" A teasing voice diverted her attention. Azrael looked at Natlus leaning on one of the book shelves.

Natlus walked up to her once he was successful to get her attention. He grins seeing her agitated mood, it's always fun to see her annoyed.

"What do you want?" Azrael came straight to the topic, sparing a glare at him.

"Payment, of course." Natlus didn't beat around the bush knowing that it was enough to irritate her further.

Azrael frowned hearing his comments.

"What payment?"

"Payment for treating that hubby of yours and your beloved sister." Nat explained with a beam.

Azrael heaved out, trying her best to keep her temper in control, but everytime she sees this guy and her sister she just can't help.

With a forced smile, she looked up at Nat,"Isn't letting your cat live enough pay as for my sister, she is rich I am sure she can afford. Go ask her." Her last sentence came out of her teeth.

Nat rolled his eyes, Eve was not with him, nothing for him to fear. "I did. She stated."

Natlus cleared his throat, preparing himself to mimic Valerie. "My beloved sister loves me alot, she will not mind paying my fees too." Natlus quoted.
