19 Her aunt

Ashlyn closed the door of the bathroom and took a deep breath in.She would deal with him later right now she had important things to do like getting her mother's crystal back.

She put on her facade and walked down the hall.As she was about to step inside the hall someone held her arm back."Did you not listen to me? I told you to create opportunities for Sessie and Conner."

Slight disbelief flashed across Ashlyn's face.She lowered her head and lowered her self."Humph! Am not going to say this for the second tome-"

"Ashlyn!!"A surprised voice had interrupted her father from saying another word.The woman who had called her was sobbing and had run to Ashlyn and hugged her.Ashlyn started to cry as well leaving her father surprised.

Before no matter how many harsh words he said she would never cry in front of him but now she was actually crying.Ashlyn wanted to call out.'Aunty! I missed you too!' But she held back her desire since her father was right there.

She wiped her tears away and smiled warmingly at her aunt.Her aunt was the one who looked the most as her mother which made her tear up.She had a peaceful relationship with her mother's sister but she had always been closer with her and her two twins Luke and Lake.She and her cousins Luke and Lake and her aunt had never met after her mother's funeral.She always avoided them like a plague because it made her think of her mother.

"How have you been sweety?"She asked."I heard you married...."Ashlyn bit her lip and nodded."Are you happy?"She asked.Ashlyn looked at her father who nodded at her.Ashlyn nodded at her aunt.

"That's great tell me what have you been up to these years?"She asked expectantly.Ashlyn lowered her head.

"Samantha it's been a hard time for her and after what happened with Thalia (Ashlyn's mother) she had a bit of a trauma and never spoke again."He explained calmly.

She pursed her lips and looked at Ashlyn and caressed her cheek.She wiped a sad tear of her eye and her look softened."Sweaty am s-sorry I wasn't there for you.....you must miss her i miss her too."

She hugged her niece once more and was ecastic that she hugged back."Okay that's enough crying for today.."She laughed a bit.Ashlyn smiled."Okay so their are a few things going on today alright...."

"Done the main purpose of inviting us here is for Ash to get her crystal right? I get that it's your step daughters birthday but it's also Ashlyn's how come the invitation only mentioned your step daughter?"She asked with a serious tone."She didn't want to have a birthday party because it reminds her of her mother but yess she will be getting her crustal today..."He assured.

He sent Ashlyn a warm doting smile that made her aunt relieved.Ashlyn was a bit taken back but when she saw her aunt's relief she realized that how can he give her that look?

Of course not.'My father is gone.This person is a greedy cold monster and nothing more Ashlyn.Remember what you promised yourself....'

"Ashlyn...."Ashlyn looked up to see who called her name and it was Conner.She nodded."Oh is this your husband?"Her aunt glowed in happiness.

"Nice too meet you Ms.Diaz."Conner greeted politely.Her aunt nodded and they shook hands."Thank you for taking care of my niece."She thanked Conner with full happiness but her eyes were glaring at him in warning as if saying 'but if you hurt her I WILL DESTROY YOU!'

Conner gulped.Is not that he was afraid of her but he felt extremely guilty.He nodded in assurance."Of course."

He walked towards Ashlyn and kissed her forehead looking filled with love towards her."Am sorry..."He whispered in her ear.

Ashlyn looked at him blankly."Alright then the ceremony is starting soon!"Her aunt applauded happily.Her father glanced at Conner and Ashlyn for a while before nodding in approval.

They allow walked inside where the rest of the Diaz family had sat in a table.Ashlyn glanced around and there was her aunts,uncles and cousins.

She felt so warm in her heart.It had been so long and she truly missed them.If not for her problems with her father she would have instead lived with them the moment her father started to change.But one thing was stopping her....

That stupid promise she made her mother!! At some point she started questioning if her mother was stupid or what? She wanted to know how could she fall in love with such a man.But at the end she calmed herself down and endured it.

Conner wrapped his hands around her waist and was about to lead her to a seat when a certain voice made Ashlyn escape his arms.
