Ashlyn lowered her head to an even lower point. Her step-sister sighed."You're still not willing to talk?"

"Oh well then happy birthday dear sis...."Her stepsister got up and pinched her jaw bringing it up."You can go help the servants get the final decorations ready after that come and clean this room up."

"The stylists worked hard to help them up a bit...."She looked at Ashlyn up and down and saw her all dressed up and smirked."Sis whether you like it or not it's my birthday, yours should not have ever existed in the first place...." She taunted.

Ashlyn clenched her jaws and lowered her head again in submission."Ugh it's always so boring."

"Speak to me!!"

"Fire at me back!!"

"OPEN YOUR MOUTH DAMN IT!!"She screamed but Ashlyn kept her head lowered and didn't utter a word.

Suddenly a harsh slap landed on her face. By the sound that echoed in the room the stylists could clearly tell how hard the slap was.

Pain filled Ashlyn's cheek. Her face started to swell and there were marks of her step sister's long nail scratches. She just clenched her jaw and lowered her head.

Her stepsister looked into her red eyes and instant jealousy and anger filled her so she pushed her onto the floor.

"Tsk~" Her stepsister turned back to sit on her chair seeing Ashlyn never cry in pain nor fire back at her.

The stylists looked at Ashlyn pitiful. Ashlyn didn't say anything and didn't touch her cheek nor did she get up.

KNOCK KNOCK

There was a knock on the door."Sissie I got you something for you, come here."

It was her father...

Ashlyn got up from the floor and opened the door. She lowered her head and exited the room right past her father. She took a glimpse of what he was holding on his hands and froze.

No.

He can't do that...

It's okay if he does it to her but why mom?

"Daddy!"Sissie got up from her chair disturbing the person working on her makeup and gaining a frown from her. She ran to him and grabbed the small box.

"Dad is it what I asked for..."She looked at him expectantly. Ashlyn's father nodded and she squealed in happiness.

"I remember it's goddess Thalia's....."She stopped and took a look at Ashlyn's frozen figure. She fell into her father's arms and opened the box.

It was a beautiful pendant. It had a purple crystal on it.

Thalia happened to be considered a name for a goddess. And her mother actually looked like one she had such a kind soul that everyone started addressing her as goddess Thalia.

Ashlyn's great grandmother had a total of seven daughters. She loved each one of them so much that she made 7 pendants and all had a raw natural crystal.

Red: Action Power

White/clear: Purity Peace

Green: abundance growth

Blue: clarity communication

Orange: Creativity Change

Purple: Spirituality Intuition

Yellow: Willpower Optimism

She gave one to each of them according to their personality. They were all passed down to the daughters of her children.

If they had more than one daughter then they had to give it to whom that crystal chooses. If they had no daughter. They would give it to their son and their son would give it to his daughter.

If the pendant didn't match the personality of their daughter they were to keep it and wait for the right moment or the right person.

It was a very crazy thing which caused many problems between the families. Despite that her great-grandmother made sure to leave many solutions.

Her great grandmother had someone bless the crystals. Basically if the person didn't deserve it the crystal would turn black and would not change unless it was handed to their rightful owner. If it turned all the colors it meant a great blessing and this person would be the next heir to the Diaz family(her mother's family side)

This had not happened yet so for now everyone in the family had an equal amount in the business empire of the family. Including Ashlyn and her father, they had shares in the company. Since no rainbow crystal had appeared there was no main family.

Basically the future family of the rainbow crystal would be considered the main family branch. So cousins and long distant uncles ext. stayed distant. Which also meant they held the most power in the family.

So how to get a rainbow crystal?

Basically a purple, blue or green crystal no matter the color could turn rainbow. But none had done so yet.

There is also a person that will be able to obtain several crystals because they are the 'Talented' amongst their generation. One of

Her grandmother was the one with the yellow crystal. The crystal never accepted Ashlyn's mother as the owner to it though. When this happened her great grandmother said a ceremony would be held on her mother's 18th birthday and that day she would try a crystal.From the unmatched ones.

She ended up with the purple one. When she was little her mother tried to give her the purple crystal but failed so they had to wait for her 18th birthday. Unfortunately, her mother did not make it so all of that was forgotten. To think she died a day before her birthday.

From then on she distanced herself from her mother's side of the family and never got a chance to test out which crystal belonged to her.

At the moment she knows only 3 crystals were unmatched including her mother's. The white/clear one, purple and red one.

When her mother died she was still wearing the crystal. She had forgotten about it damn it!

This whole time her father had it. He was going to give it to an outsider!

Technically, the crystal would accept someone for only two reasons: the person had to have a relationship with the family whether through blood or marriage. And if the person matched the personality it's color represents.

So her stepsister still held a chance since her father was once married to her mother. But this was a complete insult to her mother. How could her father do this!! He was insulting her and her mother's family.

Ashlyn turned around. She waited to see if the crystal would accept Sissie. Before Sissie touched it Ashlyn's father closed the lid.

"There will be a matching party today and many of her relatives will come so we must match you to your necklace at that time"He told her and hugged her.

Ashlyn turned to leave. She couldn't believe her father had the guts to do such a thing.

Ashlyn was disappointed at her father.

To think she still had hope for him.....
