12 Chapter 12

Ashlyn looked at the clock. Currently the time is 4:30 pm. Conner had gone to his study to work and Mike left after informing them that at 5 pm the stylists would arrive. She then looked at the open chat on her phone. She sighed.No matter how strong she was she couldn't say no to her father. Her mother loved him dearly and she had made a promise to her mother before her death.

What hurt her the most was not the fact that her mother died but that she watched her die….

Back then....

It was a cold and dark night. The snow-covered the streets. Many cars and people's shoes had stepped onto the beautiful white snow that slowly started to turn blackish. The road was messy and slippery. There were was a car being taken away because it had been stuck on the snow for more than an hour. It was a noisy, dark, cold, and problematic night.

The snowstorm had affected thousands of people. Adults complained about how their cars would get stuck in the snow. Police officers were stressed after handing out hundreds of parking tickets. Street sweepers were mumbling curses under their breaths because their work had just doubled due to the storm.

However, kids were jumping up and down because their school got canceled due to the snowstorm. All the kids were expected to build snowman and play with snowballs.

Everything….normal.The usual reactions to snowstorms almost everywhere.Even the coldness and the dirty snow, the dark sky nothing absolutely nothing could ruin the girl's happiness.

Everything for her was perfect. Unfortunately,the dark cold night was determined to ruin her happiness,it so happened that the snow decided to gang up with it and together cause a disaster.

Not any normal disaster but one that would not just take the poor girl's happiness but cause her extreme pain.Something she had never experienced since the day she was born. All the reasons to be happy would be stolen in an instant.

"Mommy I did it I passed the audition."The teenage girl gave a beautiful blooming smile.She looked adorable with the puffy jacket and white fluffy hat she was wearing. A pair of adorable dimples appeared on her face making the gorgeous woman in front of her want to pinch them.

"Yes you did with your efforts..''The woman whispered with tears streaming down her face. She was so proud of her daughter. What mother wouldn't celebrate their child's success?

Her daughter had passed an audition in front of the strictest and most demanding directors and producers in the country.Her precious daughter had gotten the female lead to a promising movie that for sure would make her career into an instant success. This movie happens to be so promising that even before being filmed people around the world were crowning it amongst all successful tv shows and movies.

The movie would start filming in six months and auditions were already being held. Fans who had read the book version of the movie were anxious to know who would take the roles of Male lead and female lead.

The story was a dramatic teenage romance.The creators were already set on choosing rare talents for the lead roles whether already famous or not.

The woman was beyond proud because her daughter had done it on her own efforts despite having a superstar mother who could just clap her hands and give her any role she wanted with no objections.

"Oh mommy is so proud"The girl also teared up and jumped into her mother's arms. Suddenly a larger pair of arms hugged both of them.The girl turned to look at her father."Dad…" she lowered her head knowing her dad was never all heart and feeling kind of person.Surprisingly, the father smiled at her with clear happiness, content, and satisfaction in his eyes.

The girl's smile was plastered on her face.For her 17 and a half years of life she had, her father had never given her such a look. Extreme happiness was inside her heart that could explode at any moment because of how full of content it was.

Not excitement or nervousness.Nope only happiness.

The mother hugged her husband and they both smiled at each other. The woman kissed her cold husband's lips and he immediately responded. The girl covered her eyes "Oh no I don't want any more dog food!" The mother chuckled and her father patted her head.

The family of three was so perfect. They were filled with harmony,love and eternal happiness that was meant to become not so eternal anymore.

Who could have told the happy little girl that her little bubble would soon burst? Who could warn her to get prepared for the cruel reality?

"Come on let's go celebrate!" The mother clapped her hands in excitement."I still got work to do and the paparazzi have been looking to get a picture of their goddess's daughter so I will take you out tonight when I get home." The father informed his family.

His wife pouted and his daughter did too.He chuckled in amusement."Come on be good, we will celebrate tonight."Finally, his stubborn daughter and wife agreed.

"Let the driver take you back."He told them.His wife held his arm and pleaded rather childishly."Hubby I want to drive my daughter home….."

"It's dangerous…."He denied her pleads. The mother gave her daughter a look and her daughter immediately understood her intentions. So she too pleaded with teary eyes."Daddy...please"

"Tsk~what actresses you definitely deserve your titles.''The husband complained.

"Mr.Brown."His assistant arrived with a troubled look. He looked at his assistant and then his wife, "Fine."He reluctantly agreed."YAY!" they cheered.

He shook his head and followed his assistant inside the limousine. The woman waved at him as his car faded away from their sights.

The woman smiled at her daughter and threw her the car keys."Mom...really?"

"You have learned how to drive as a congratulations gift I will let you drive.''Her daughter jumped on her and they both hugged in happiness.

Who could tell them their recklessness would come after them?

Who could tell the husband that during a shareholders meeting he would receive devastating news?

Who could warn them that their happiness was never meant to last?
