18 Tempting (2)

I glanced at Naylie while holding my nose.

Her hair around her neck appeared to bob up and down as if a breeze was flowing through it. She glanced at me over her shoulder and widened her eyes at my expression. "I'm sorry," she said and tucked both hands onto her knees while looking at the desk. The smell subsided slightly to a mild fragrance.

I reached my hand towards hers and the bell rung. She darted out of the class room leaving nothing behind but her bracelet. I picked it up and stuffed it in my pocket then walked towards Hunter.

"Hey man everything alright?" he asked.

"Yeah," I replied.

"Good I was just wondering, since you didn't approach us this morning," He said. I slipped my backpack over my shoulder and said," I'm sorry I was just in a rush, something really important was bugging me."

"Ok then," He replied then walked out of class. I stepped into the hallway and saw Naylie leaning against a locker.

She stared at me with her big brown eyes and batted her long eye lashes. She parted her pink lips then slightly turned her head and walked down the hall. I wanted to chase after her but I had to get to class.

I couldn't concentrate at all for the rest of the day. During lunch time, I sat in the cafeteria at the table with my friends just staring off into space chewing on my food, and on occasion glancing up at the clock on the wall.

When the bell rung for last period I practically ran to class. She sat with her hand rested against her small delicate chin while staring at the wall.

A sigh escaped her parted lips as she sat in deep thought. I walked closer towards her to take my seat while staring at her. T

he classroom was dark but her face appeared to be wet as if she has been crying. Her cheeks were rosy pink and her nose a tad bit puffy. She glanced at me through the corner of her eye then turned around and smiled. "Hi Ty", she said through the part in her lips.

I sat my backpack down next to the desk and cuffed her cheek with my hand. I wiped her tear with my thumb then placed my hand on the desk.

"Stop acting strong you're a human just like the rest of us," I said.

She sighed then placed her hand under her chin and stared off towards the front of the class. "I'm not human, I'm a succubus and I died a long time ago," She said in a faint whisper.

"How long ago?" I asked.

She glanced at me then returned her gaze towards the board. "I'm not telling you my story," she said," I'm not ready to tell anybody, instead I will answer your question in short, I lived when Shakespeare was still alive." She chuckled, "I used to go watch his plays with my mother before I died."
