2 CHAPTER TWO (2) Greatly Offended

Robert Anderson, her male friend from high school and even university. A British, talented fashion designer. His parents were rich and related to the royal family. Anderson was the only child of Mr and Mrs Roberts who adored and pampered him like an egg. All his wish was always fulfilled without second thoughts. He had one problem though, his obsession for her. And he had even talked his parents into wanting to marry her. Which she has done nothing but reject anytime they brought it up.

Sometimes she believed him to be crazy because she had rejected him times without numbers but he still kept coming back.

"My heart is broken for the seventy-ninth time by you, Rose!" Anderson complained sadly.

He kept count? Well, why is she surprised? He was one weird human.

"Good night." She heard him say.

"Good night." She was ready to happily hang up but then she heard him scream and then with a calm voice he said.

"Don't do this to me my love,"

"I'm not your love!" And she hung up, massaged her temples, closed her eyes and sighed.

Ye Zedong and Xu Dandan that were seated at the front watched their boss from the rear view mirror. They knew who she had been talking to just now.

The gay acting Anderson. Yes he acted like one perhaps because he was a fashion designer but no, he wasn't one.

It would have been a great thing if he was, it would have meant less stress for their boss.

Rose's phone beeped with a notification sound, it was a message from him and without bothering to read it, she trashed it.

By the time they arrived at Rose's grand mansion, it was ten fifty-nine since it was far from the city.

Zedong parked the Aston Martin Vintage alongside other expensive vehicles their boss had.

Yes, everyone knows Rose loves luxury. Her cars, the wrist watches she wore, the hand bags for office and purses for official events, her designer clothes and finally her grand mansion. One of the reason she's all over the televisions and magazines.

A smile lit up his face as he went to enter their official car, he would use that in taking himself and Xu Dandan back to their various apartments.

He saw Xu Dandan already waiting for him since she had followed the boss in to drop some documents that needed to be reviewed.

She got in and he drove out of the compound.

Inside, the grand mansion. Illuminated by golden lights, Rose dropped herself on the soft cushion as she whined like a baby. No one was allowed to see this side of her except her head maid, Ren Jiayi.

"I'm so hungry! Can you believe I haven't had something to eat since this afternoon?"

Ren Jiayi smiled, a woman in her early fifties. She came to stand in front of Rose, carrying a tray and a glass of fruit juice on it.

"I bet you locked yourself up in the office and no one dared to disturb the tigress." She put the tray down, "Here," Ren Jiayi pushed the glass of fruit juice towards her. "This is a glass of watermelon juice. It's chilled, you will like it." Ren Jiayi assured the young lady.

Rose quickly grabbed and downed the whole fruit juice then belched in satisfactoion. "Thank you. Now food, I'm famished."

Ren Jiayi couldn't hide her smile, Rose was acting so adorable like she always did whenever they were together. "The dining table has been set but with just one dish."

"Okay, let's go." Rose said and led the way. On the table was a plate of salmon with lime sprinkled on it, the aroma was all over the place so it was easy to tell.

She sat down, picked up her chopsticks and dug into it. "Mmm," She moaned loudly. "I'll be needing a lunch pack tomorrow, because I'll be heading to the site and might remain there for the whole day."

Ren Jiayi nodded in understanding.

Rose then picked the bowl of rice, topped it with the tomatoes sauce and started eating.

"I'll be sure to prepare something nice." Ren Jiayi assured her.

"I trust you," Rose gave her a thumbs up and continued eating.

The older woman watched Rose eat and the smile on her face bloomed. Then she remembered something.

"Young Miss, didn't you return with sir and madam?" Her brows creased.

"They didn't make it."

"Oh, did they notify you?"

"No, and i discovered too late."

The woman nodded. "You must have stressed a lot today. I will go prepare a warm bathe for you." And she left to go do that.

Ten minutes later, a very tired Rose Lan lay inside her bathtub with her eyes closed. There was a countryside song playing and she hummed to it.

On the other side of the continent, in Canada, four older people were discussing and dining in a restaurant.

The restaurant was lit up with Christmas lights and bubbling with life, customers entering and leaving.

"Thank you for agreeing to meet with us," the man on suit and tie said.

"It's fine, what are friends for anyways? We became friends through our children and since then has remained committed." The man on fur jacket said smiling.

"Thank you, Mrs Chen too."

"Oh, it's fine for real." Mrs Chen said. "I enjoy Mrs Roberts company," she held the woman's hands in hers that was covered by gloves and squeezed it.

"Alright, one last thing." Mr Roberts said. Now looking serious. "Have you thought about our children getting married? They will make a great couple. You know how much Anderson adores Rose,"

"Yes, I agree." Mrs Roberts was all smiles. "Then it won't just be friendship anymore but relatives as well." She grinned at Mr and Mrs Chen.

Mr and Mrs Chen shared a looked. Then the smile on Mrs Chen's face became forced. Why did they always have to bring this up? She knew that them requesting for a dinner was only for one purpose. To try to convince them that their son was the most suitable young man out there for their lovely daughter.

Mrs Chen was greatly offended, she had tried to talk her husband out of this meeting but he had insisted saying he will try as much as possible to keep it light.

Well, here they are. At that same topic that she hated hearing.
