CHAPTER SEVEN (7) Blessing

The door before Su Yuanqi slowly pulled open, he knew what to expect so his eyes were lowered. Once the door was fully open, a little girl stood smiling brightly at him.

Yuanqi bent on one knee and the girl rushed into his hand, "Qi'er," he called out here pet name

She hugged his neck with a big smile on her, "Brother Yuan,"

Another figure appeared from the kitchen, with an apron tied around her waist, she walked closer, hugged and gave him a kiss on his cheek.

"You're back so soon..." she trailed off. "I told you to take as much time you want."

"I just couldn't stay there knowing fully well you two are alone." He countered.

His mother, Qiaofan sighed.

The little girl in his arms chuckled, then said. "I'm happy you're back big brother."

"Don't say that, Ranqi." Qiaofan shook her at the little girl.

"But, I missed him..." she snuggled deeper into his neck and it made Yuanqi chortle.

They moved to the sofa while their mother returned to the kitchen to finish preparing the dinner.

Yes, that's his little family. They were all he had and are, everything he worked hard for, was for the two women in his life... and almost half of what made him go he was today was destroyed by that evil woman... Chen Rose Lan... she won't win this time!

He had been saving so he could buy that space for himself, he never imagined that God had other plans.

He would wait till tomorrow evening and if Delun didn't bring any good news, he'd go live on television to sue her himself.

"Choo!" Rose sneezed out loud.

Everyone else on the table stared at her, Mrs Chen was the first to react as she quickly went to get warm water for her daughter.

"Seems like you caught a cold," the worry in her voice could be easily detected.

Mr Chen spoke up next. "What are you doing to yourself, Rose?"

Rose wanted to maintain the awkward smile on her face, is it because she had soaked in the bathtub yesterday? But, that shouldn't be an issue.

"No, no." She waved it off. "I'm perfectly fine."

Dandan and Duyi shared a look but said nothing.

Mrs Chen soon returned to the table with a mug of warm water then persuaded Rose to gulp it down.

Rose gently collected the mug from her mother and started taking little sips.

"Drink more..." Mrs Chen said.

"Alright," Rose continued to drink from the mug. "C'mon, y'all can eat more." She said when she noticed Duyi and Dandan had stopped eating.

Duyi nodded before continuing while Dandan gave a dry laugh. She wasn't used to Rose's parents so she could barely relax.

They were now seated at the mini sitting room having desserts as they were already done with their dinner.

Duyi stood up, bowed and asked to leave since they had another day ahead of them.

Dandan joined him and they left.

Rose would spend the night at her parents'.

They all retired to bed, soon after they had, had their desserts.

As Rose headed to her room upstairs, she came across that one room that has been abandoned for years. She stood there, staring at the door with mixed feelings.

After some minutes passed, Rose clutched her bag and went into the next room which belonged to her.

She dropped on the bed with her eyes closed, while still in deep thoughts but her ringing phone interrupted that little moment.

To her surprise it was An Ruolan Grace, her friend.

"Grace,"

"That's the best way to say hi?"

Rose would swear that she had rolled her eyes after that question. She knew Grace way too well for her own good.

"Haha," Rose couldn't hold it in but she understood what that tiny laughter could do, so she quickly apologized. "I'm sorry my dear friend, how are you?"

"Hmmph," came Grace's sigh. "Still the same way,"

"Yeah, I can easily tell."

"Rose?"

"Haha! My bad... I'm sorry."

"It's fine, I've missed you... Let's meet up." That wasn't a suggestion, Rose thought for a while before replying.

"I'll check my schedule and get back to you."

"Alright,"

"Bye, take care..."

"Hold on, when last did you hear from Anderson?"

"Yesterday, why?"

"I thought he has gotten over his obsession with you..."

"I really pray he does."

"Hahaha!" This time it was Grace's turn, she enjoyed taunting Rose just as the latter enjoyed doing the same to her too, reminding her everyday in university about how much Anderson admired her and wanted to be with her.

"You having fun?" Rose snorted.

"Uhm... bye girl." With that said, Grace hung up instantly.

Rose undressed so she could go shower, tomorrow was another stress filled day... She could feel it within herself.

Rose, woke up early so she could assist her mother in preparing breakfast.

After they were done, she went back upstairs, took her morning bathe and dressed up for work.

Rose's obsession was with everything else but men, she had many clothes that could barely keep count.

She wore high waist jeans, a black crop top and matching black boots. Her hand bag was also made of jeans material.

She went downstairs to join her parents in having breakfast and left as early as she could with her father blessing her day and her mother telling her not to over stress.

Rose pulled to a stop in front of The Chen Empire, the valet rushed forward to catch the key just in time.

Employees greeted Rose as she strode in majestically, Rose was a free spirited person so she always replied and sometimes waved as well as wink at the ladies. And because of this little act of hers, they would always chose her anytime any day.

As Rose was about entering her private elevator, she felt a figure close up on her.

"Hi," Lai Shun came to stand beside her.

"Hello." Rose wasn't in the mood for long talks so she was ready to ignore him.

"I haven't seen you in your office for two days now, did you find a..."

The elevator beeped twice and parted into two, Rose matched in without further ado and Lai Shun joined her.

As soon as it's doors closed, Lai Shun continued while standing behind her.

"Did you find a lover?"

Rose was going to ignore him, that would hurt his pride more than throwing insults at him.

"I mean, we all know Anderson's interest in you... did you finally agree to him?" Lai Shun wasn't one to give up. "I heard he's in the country, you two have been secretly meeting, right?"
