CHAPTER FOUR (4) First Encounter

"I can't believe it! There's no single network signal around here! Doesn't make any sense to me! Ah!" Rose angrily raised her phone to the air and turned around hoping to get a working network. "This is well developed area for crying out loud!"

When she still didn't get any, she stopped to see Xu Dandan eating a cold brew coffee popsicle. "What are you doing?" Well, not that I can't see that...

"Hmm," Xu Dandan moaned. "You should try this, it is very good!" She directed a thumbs up at Chen Rose Lan. "Wait, we should always eat what we produce. We just have a taste and forget it when it's finally packaged. They always have amazing taste."

Rose closed her eyes and massaged her temples. "There's no network signal here! What are you doing eating that?"

"Oh really? Try hitting the phone twice. Did you ever use a keypad phone? No, right? Do just that and see the magic." Xu Dandan advised and continued with her cold brew coffee popsicle.

Rose shook her head and sighed. "I'll try calling one more time." As she said so, she dialed her father's Mr Chen Mogan Yan number again. She patiently waited for his phone to start ringing but then there was an interruption.

"What is going on here?" A man's voice traveled from the back. The shock in the man's voice was apparent, she didn't miss the anger laced with it. With the phone still held to her ear, Rose turned to meet the owner of the voice.

A dashing young man, she noted. She was used to seeing men who were handsome but this particular young man sure had extra features... She refused to be wowed.

"Wow!" Rose heard Xu Dandan say and turned to see that her secretary was in awe and drooling over the young man. She had even let the popsicle fell. Just like in the movies.

"I ask again, what is going on here?" Su Yuan Qi couldn't believe his eyes. "Why is everything in shambles? What did you do here?"

It took Xu Dandan a while to realize they were been interrogated. "Hello, I'm Xu Dandan, Miss Chen Rose," Xu Dandan pointed at Rose. "Secretary. How may we help you?"

"I don't care who you are or what you do! Just tell me what's going on here!" Su Yuanqi said in a very commanding tone. And threw the books in his hand to the ground with every strength in him.

Xu Dandan jumped at his angry tone and looked at Rose for help. 'Why is she do quiet?'

"Hello lan'er," Rose heard her father say and her eyes bulged as a big smile spread on her face.

"Father, I've been trying to reach you like forever. Where are you two? Has your plane arrived?"

"Yes, we are at the airport with, what is your name again? Oh, yes, Zedong." Chen Mogan replied.

"I'm sorry I wasn't able to come pick you two."

"It's alright, dad and mom understands you are busy. Okay. Bye. Just get home in time for dinner my princess."

"Sure." She sighed in relief and hung up the call. Then turned around to walk away, but just after taking the second step she seemed to recall that one dashing young man from nowhere had been directing questions at them.

And then she was set to turn back at him and maybe to understand clearly what he was saying but a hand grabbed her by the arm and flung her around.

He had exerted much strength without him knowing, making her hiss in pain. One thing he wasn't aware of, was that he had just pissed her and she wasn't a weakling.

Rose whom had been taught right from a tender age to protect herself against any danger, and to always be on alert, used her other hand that wasn't been held down to grab onto his hand holding her other hand to a place. And pulled it off in one go.

"How dare you bastard?" Then used her hand that had been held captive to send a blow flying towards him.

Su Yuanqi had never seen such an angry face nor a hand coming at him with this much speed in his life before. He dodged to the right and his ear stilled at the breeze that had just bypassed him.

Rose wasn't one to give up until she was sure her enemy was down on his knees, she quickly sent her leg flying, aiming for his stomach. He hadn't been prepared for the plan b as he fell on his buttocks.

Everything happened in a matter of minute that Xu Dandan wasn't able to react. Su Yuanqi wasn't able to save himself this time.

The sky seemed to darken at day as it took the young man a while to recover.

Rose's leg still hung in the air waiting for him to counterattack, her hands balled up in fists and those beautiful black pupils looking like an endless abyss.

While Su Yuanqi was still on the floor with his eyes tightly shut, Xu Dandan on the other hand watched her boss with a new level of awe, and admiration with her mouth forming a wOw.

It took Yuanqi two minutes to realize he was still on the floor, slowly he opened his eyes to see Rose dusting her clothes. He stood up and dusted his, his stomach was hurting greatly. Now there's more reason to hate her.

Yes he knew who she was. Everything about her except that she was strong and could easily defend herself.

Chen Rose Lan, he won't forget this! Their very first encounter.

By now Rose had her two hands in her blazer pockets and looking away like she hadn't been the one that sent him to the floor just now.

Xu Dandan seemed to have recovered as well as she cleared her throat. "Mr, here's my card." She passed him a card she took out from her purse. "Call me if there's anything wrong... I mean, go do a laboratory test and..." 'What am I saying right now? He's such a dashing and masculine young man but a lady was able to...' she felt her tongue would burn if she continued badmouthing him.

She didn't want to believe his well built body was just a show off. And it made her remember her first meeting with her now boss.
