"Runes? What runes? I don't understand what you're talking about." Zoey quickly calmed down. Although she didn't know how Lucille knew about the runes, there was no way she would admit it without any evidence.
The corners of Lucille's lips tugged upwards, revealing a playful smirk.
Before Zoey could retort, Lucille said, "Let me guess. The more ink you use for the runes, the less you have. I bet you've used all your trump cards to deal with me, right?"
Zoey's eyes flashed. She pursed her lips and pretended not to understand.
Lucille touched her chin and said, "Although I don't know where you got those runes, you must have done a lot of things with them all these years. For example, you captured Samuel's heart, and you have Charles wrapped around your finger, right?"
The more Lucille spoke, the paler Zoey's face turned.
After making sure that no one else could hear their conversation, Zoey gritted her teeth and asked, "How did you know that?"
