Hendric was on the verge of tears. "Heavens, save me. It was difficult enough for me to aspire to be heroic once. I even confidently made so many promises but then got lost halfway. This is really embarrassing!"
As he pondered over the many deluded words he had uttered before that once heard stirred passionate emotions, he felt as if he had gravely made himself foolish.
Desperately, Hendric fiddled with his phone. He turned it on and off twice. Yet, it was to no avail.
There must be a problem with the signal here. It was probably not his phone at fault.
Out of options, Hendric could only get in the car, rely on his sense of direction, and sped off.
To his surprise, he discovered that the route he took had been shut off halfway due to a construction plan. If it were not for his timely braking, both he and his car would have plunged off the broken bridge!
"Damn it!"
Hendric's heart pounded in fear. He had no choice but to make a turn and choose a different route.
