The Turning

Sapphire's POV

I saw the pain look on his face the moment I pulled away.

"Why?" He asked while he searched for the answers himself through my eyes. I felt pain when I saw the disappointed look on his face. I don't want him to think that I don't want to kiss him but I'm too embarrassed to tell him the truth.

I sighed and looked away, trying my best to ignore the look that he gave me. "I've never kissed anybody before in my life." I breathed as I know that he must be thinking of how childish I am.

But he didn't say a word. I looked at him to see if he wasn't interested in my statement or if he got bored quickly, but I saw him blushing with a huge smile on his face. "I'm the first?" He asked.

I nodded and looked down, waiting for him to tease me but instead, I heard him cheering.

I quickly turned my head back to him and saw his fist shot up in the air. "Yes!!!" He exclaimed making my eyes widen with surprise. He noticed that I was looking which made him quickly pull it back down. "Sorry." He chuckled. "I'm just happy." He breathed and pulled me into his arms.

The car stopped and the driver informed Xander that we have arrived.

I jumped out and gazed at the palace while admiring it while hands sneaked up on my waist, pulling me into a hug. "Welcome home." He said and placed a light kiss on my cheek.

I turned around to face him. "What?" I asked with an eyebrow shot up. He doesn't mean that...

He smiled and pulled me close to him. "What's mine is yours."

My eyes widened.

I call the food!!

What? No way. I just moved back home and I'll be living in a palace?

I sighed and shrugged my shoulders, not knowing that to do or what to choose...

Casey and Aiden soon appeared from behind us and they look... messy? 

"Can't wait until we get back huh?" Xander joked which made Aiden throw him a punch on a shoulder and made Casey blush, I laughed and pulled Casey over to me.

"You naughty girl" I whispered while nudging on her elbow which made her blush even more.

"It's his idea!" She defended while pointing at a clueless Aiden.

I couldn't help but laugh at what just happened, making me clutch my stomach as I wiped a tear away from my eye before I eventually started to calm down.

We all stepped inside and got greeted by a girl around 17 years old with dirty blonde hair and dark yellow eyes like her mother's. She lunged at me and pulled me into a hug.

"Sapphire! Casey! Oh thank the gods you're these goons' mate and not some random bimbo." The youngest of child of the King and Queen, May exclaimed. The three of us know each other very well due to mutual friends.

Casey and I hugged her and squealed in excitement.

"Well you better get some rest for the party tomorrow since you'll need plenty of rest for the Turning tomorrow night!" She squealed and I was about to nod when I realized what she said, Xander and Aiden hit May with their elbows which made her winced in pain.

Crossing my eyebrows, I turned my head and looked at Xander confusedly. "What did she mean?"

He held his breath nervously and looked at Aiden before he sighed. "We need to introduce you tomorrow to the other Vampires and turn you into one."

That's all? What's so wrong with that?

"Only the true mates of a Vampire will turn and if you're fake then... you'll... die." Aiden added which made him shot a look at a shocked Casey, but she just shrugged then it all came back to me.

<"They're alive!"

"...the true mates of the princes'!" >

That dream. Why did I dream of that? I don't know if I should be relieved or scared, relieved that in that dream I survived, and scared that maybe in the real life I would die.

"Uh..." I muttered as Xander gave me a worried look only seconds before he hugged me.

"Don't worry, nothing bad will happen, I promise. You are my mate and there is no doubt about that."

I felt a tear rolled down my cheek but I quickly wiped it away as I felt safe in his arms. "Okay." I breathed before he kissed the top of my head.

"Let's go to bed." I nodded but as soon as I did, he quickly pulled me and carried me, bridal style. I gasped when he suddenly carried me which made him earn a light punch on the chest that made him chuckle.

"Good night." May waved while I smile at her and at Casey who she still looked so tense. Maybe a good night sleep will cure her.

We both entered a Blue room and Xander puts me down and what was weird is that it was like the one in my dream... He threw some shorts and an oversized shirt at me. "Change into something more comfortable." I examined the clothes and shook my head. I took out my clothes from my bag and took them out and went towards the bathroom. 

I smirked. "You go change." I went inside the bathroom and let him change after I got in. When I went out, I noticed that he's already on the bed. I smiled at the sight before I climbed in after him. He wrapped me around his arms making me feel safer than how I felt earlier. I felt my eyelids getting heavier so I let my sleep overtake me.

"I love you." he muttered before I fell asleep.

Morning came and I was woken up by a snoring Xander.

"Shut it. I'm still sleeping." I muttered as I threw a pillow at his face which woke him up.

"What the--" He mumbled but then he looked at me. "Good morning princess." He said and kissed my forehead.

It was all going well until...

"GOOD MORNING!!!" May slammed the door open that almost made me fall out of bed if Xander didn't pull me back to him.

He chuckled when I accidentally wrapped my arms around him, literally clinging for my life. "Looks like my alarm clock's awake." Xander laughed. That it mean that this happens every day?

"Come on! Party starts at 4!" May giggled before grabbing my arm and pulled me towards the bathroom.

"It's 7 in the morning, we still have 9 hours till then." I whined and sighed.

She crossed her arms and shot an eyebrow up. "We're going shopping, duh! I'll lend you my clothes for now so get ready, I'll wake up the others." I nodded as she began to walk to the other room, then I heard a door slammed open.

"GOOD MORNING!!" I heard her shout.

"Damn it May!" Aiden exclaimed along with Casey's groan.

We arrived at exactly 4 o'clock at where the Spring Ball took place but at a different building. I picked out a simple pink ball gown. Casey's gown was blue still mermaid style and May's wearing a white laced dress with flowers sewn on the side.

Elena and Jasper greeted us with warm smiles and led us to the balcony styled stairs.

I don't know what it's called so just deal with it hahaha.

Here it goes...

"Ladies and gentlemen! May I present the Princesses; Xander's Mate Sapphire and Aiden's Mate Casey." The man announced as he gestured to me and Casey. The crowd cheered while Elena gave us a warm smile before speaking.

"Let it begin." She said which gained a few more cheers from the crowd.

I nervously looked at Xander as he walked in front of me. He gave me a worried look which made me panic a bit more so I looked at Casey and saw her motioning for me to calm down. And so I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

Then it began

Xander tilted my head and exposed my neck. He inched closer until I felt his breath against my skin that sent shivers throughout my body. Impaling his fangs on to my neck, I felt the warm liquid enter my body but it soon felt stronger. But it started to burn making me squeeze Xander's arms. I couldn't handle the pain, I felt like I was going to pass out.

Then everything's starting to darken.

Feeling my strength leave my body, I collapsed and felt my body hit the floor but heard footsteps that came rushing to my side.

Why isn't he saying anything?

I started to get scared. They were too quiet.

"They're alive! The true mates of the princes are alive!" They announced.

I'm alive? Oh thank god!

Then it all went black.
