264 Year twenty-three twenty-six

"Master Zance is waiting for you, Miss Diana," the maid said, gesturing towards the door she escorted me to. She was keeping her eyes meekly to the ground all the while, but it was hard to say if it was her natural demeanour or the way she was instructed to behave.

Twice as hard, because she was, just like any other servant I've met in the house until now, an android. The modern versions of them were human-like enough that a naked eye wouldn't tell a difference, but with aura-vision I could tell that inside of her brain was not squishy grey matter, but a bunch of electronic circuits.

They still made up a mind and soul, though. A greatest confirmation of that was the way the maid's eyes passed over the guardian shadow next to me without ever once focusing on him, and how she never acknowledged his presence. Nor did any other android in Zance's mansion.
