1 CHAPTER 1: Chimera reincarnation (kind of)
I was a 16 year old girl, my name was Grace , and I was on my way to the [Adventurers Guild] to become what I've always dreamed of and that is an adventurer.
On my way I saw nothing out of the usual but I did see new faces,since I know everyone in this district where nothing happened.They were three men with long coats which was unusual ,seeing that it's summer.
They looked like they came out of a laboratory where they did tons of experiments.Something felt off when I shaw them so I decided to turn down an alleyway to avoid them.
I walked for a while and started to feel I was being followed,I started to walk faster to get away but after a while I turned around to see what's behind me however there was nothing.
I turned again to walk however the next thing I remember was seeing darkness. Why you ask, that's because I was knocked out.
When I awoke I found myself strapped to a table and surrounded by people in long coats just like the ones I saw on the street.I panicked and started to breath heavily, when one of them noticed me moving around he came closer to me.
"Ah you're finally awake, I wondered when you would wake up?" (unknown man)
"Where am I?Who are you people and why did you kidnap me?" I asked in a frightened tone waiting for the man to answer my questions.
"Now calm down,first let me introduce myself,my name is Gabriel and I am the head researcher in charge of the transference of soul experiments of the group called {NEW DAWN}.As for where you are,well that is a secret.The reason we kidnapped you is for you to be the lucky test subject for our endeavor,I hope you'll cooperate" (Gabriel)
He answered with a smile seemingly unfazed by my expression of fear.The man standing before me was a slender man with glasses,wrinkled clothing and uncombed hair which suggested that he was unmarried.
"Now that you are awake we can start with our experiments.The procedure or ritual is called [soul transference] and will now begin and for that you had to be awake.Now are there any objections?" he asked again with a smile almost like he's trying to be nice to me but I knew he thought nothing of my life.
"Wait I don't want this!I want to go home,I want to go home"!(Grace)
I screamed from the top of my lungs but he just kept on smiling." Since there are no objections let us start"(Gabriel)
He ignored me and grabbed 3 stones with runes carved in them from the table next to him where the body of a black cat lied and placed the stones on top of my chest.He and the others began to speak in an ancient language and the stones started to glow."Wait no sto...aaaaahhhhhh"I wanted to stop them but just as I was about to,I felt unimaginable pain.
It was irritating and unbearable at the same time,I started to become numb all over my body and like the expression goes *it feels like my soul is leaving my body* that was true for me at this moment.
The runes on the stones disappeared and edged themselves onto my soul.All that could be seen by the men in long coats was a small light transferring from my body to the prepared body of a black cat.
After I was transferred into the black cats body they took me to another room were various tools and unknown drugs and substances were.They strapped! e down again and began their experiments.I was cut open and healed over and over.Various kinds of drugs and liquids were tested on me but I endured through the pain,until I saw a giant needle and blacked out.
[Day 1]
"Huh what's that smell?It smells like smoke and blood.Wait what"? I awoke to a mixed smell of blood and smoke inside of a cage.I look around to see what was wrong and saw magic beasts and monsters attacking the researchers when suddenly the cage got knocked over breaking the lock.I did not wait for any answers this time and took the opportunity and ran for my life.As I ran I saw dead people, beasts and monsters all around but I did not care,all I cared about was getting away.I ran and ran until I saw a door which was heavily reinforced but that did not stop me.I saw a hole in the wall that looked like it was made with magic and dashed for it.When I got outside I ran even further until I felt safe.
I came to a tree near a river and rested. Having finally gotten a safe distance away I collapsed due to being tired.I got up after a while to drink some water but when I reached the edge of the river I realised I was no longer human.I was now a black cat "I didn't realise it while running but I'm really small now.So I was actually transferred into that black cat huh.Wait what species am I"? just as I asked that question something like a screen popped up in front of me..

"I should at least become stronger ,but a goal"?Thinking for a moment I decided to look in the direction I came from when I shaw one of the researchers' body in a distance.
Anger welled up from inside me I decided to head in the direction of the body .He was flattened, it looked like he was squashed by something like a tree.Hatred filled me and then an idea came to me ,"REVENGE" that will be my one and only goal.
"That's it I'll get revenge for myself and all of their victims,even if I don't know all of their victims..."
My mouth started to drool and my stomach rumbled.
"...and it'll start with you,even if your not alive anymore" and with those words I started to eat him.I became sick to my stomach from the rotten smell and the awful taste but I kept eating and eating until nothing was left.

"Wait what?He was still alive in that state and that title sounds so grotesque".I tried to clean my tong with my paw but the taste did not disappear,so I decided to head back to the river and drink some water to get the taste of my tongue.
After drinking water to get the taste out,I decided to check my status again.
