The Most Hurtful Way

Griffin felt he is developing an admiration to her. He should have given her a chance before and he is hoping that she's still likes him now if she did he will make sure to be close to her. That's what's running in his mind now.

Rafael is watching his son and he can read what's running in his mind right now. His corner lips lift upward he knows one day he will see a true worthy future wife that can help him in the future he just hopes it is not too late.

He looks at his friend Charles and found him looking at him too. Before, he already told him that he likes Azalea as a daughter in law but Charles told him he would only let her if Griffin is the one who will ask for her but his idiotic son is blinded by the beauty of Camilla. He choose and followed her like a dog.

"I hope Camilla also have knowledge about business like Azalea . It will only be a great disappointment for me if she only knows how to spend my son's hard earnings, just like her mother". Rafael is looking straight at her, sharply.

Camilla was stunned when she heard his future father in law says those words. She looked at her father but he doesn't have any reaction. Then she looked at her mother but she didn't say a word. She's been compared to a bastard but she can't even squeal. She feels like she's been slapped by Griffin's father.

Azalea knows that Mr. Dela MonRuiz always speaks what's on his mind. He is quite brutally honest sometimes but she likes his honesty though she feels awkward when they've been compared. She feels like Camilla is killing her inside her head.

"You see if I am Griffin I'd rather marry a talented woman like your sister, she can help him to make our business grow especially when the family merge". He said it then look at Camilla.

Camilla is furious but she can't retaliate. She really doesn't know anything about business and she hate to work besides her own mother told her that she don't need to work as long as she is pretty a lot of men will take her as a bride. Now she's thinking is her mother wrong?.

Carlton didn't say anything, he is just being quiet. He remembered those times when he always tell her sister to study the nature of their business but her mother always got angry. She keeps putting in her mind that business is a man's world and they are supposed to be pampered and when his father tried to intervene they end up in an argument.

Now the head of his future family is saying what she's supposed to learned before Carlton thinks this would be an eye opener for her. Maybe it's much better for them to hear it from others than them.

"Rafael, I think that's enough". His wife scold him.

"My dear Victoria, I'm only trying to save our son from another you, you know you're spending habits are a burden right?". He said this casually to his own wife.

Victoria swallowed her tongue. She feels like her own husband slaps her in the face in front of other people.

Lena got scared of Rafael. She can't believed he is this cruel to her own wife. She thought her friend Victoria is pampered whole by his husband but it seems like her friend lied to her. Right now she's very thankful that Charles is her husband, he is a man of few words and he may not be a pampering person but he never humiliated her in front of others. But what will going to happen to my daughter if she got married to Griffin?. She's scared for her now.

None of the woman speak again. They all looked like they swallowed all their tongues. They were afraid to be slap again by Rafael.

After dinner everyone went back to the living room and have some tea.

Azalea's phone rings. It's Butler Chan who's calling.

She excused herself before answering her phone.

"Madam, I was wondering when will you be back?". His old but mellow voice is on the other line.

"I'm not sure, why do you ask?". She was confused he never called her before just to ask like this.

"The master made some dinner for the two of you and he is still waiting for you to join him". He directly said to her.

"What, why would he do that, I already told him I am going home".

"But madam the dinner was ordered while you were asleep, I believed he is supposed to wake you up before dinner but you left". His voice sounds like there's a hint of pity in it.

"Did he told you to call me?". She ask slowly to him.

"No madam this is on my own accord, the master didn't know, for honesty's sake I am very worried with the young master he's been waiting for you since last night and he didn't have dinner then, I hope he eats when he got to work this morning". He explained to her.

Azalea felt like a thousand needles was struck to her heart. He was waiting for me, that words it keeps playing on her mind.

She hung up and immediately ask permission to leave from her family and guests.

"Don't you think it's too early to leave?". Her father ask her. He wants her to stay a while longer.

"I'm sorry dad, I really do love to stay but it's urgent, I really need to go". She feels like her heart is floating when she feels her father is seeking for her time and attention now, but she wants to go back now. To Jack.

Charles let her leave and Griffin volunteered to usher her out but Azalea tried to refuse she don't want to cause any trouble for them but Griffin insisted. Camilla's face wrinkled she feels like her boyfriend left her for her.

"Ahm, Azalea". Griffin wants to start a conversation while walking her out.

"Yes?".

"If you have any free time, would you like to see my new yacht". He smiled at her.

Azalea felt confused. 'What's with this guy, asking me to see his new yacht is he crazy, his like asking for my own death'. She wants to laugh at him while thinking this.

"No thanks, need to run". And she just wave her hand i front of him.

Her Camaro is just parked near their gate. After she gets in she made it fly.

Griffin eats her dust but was astonished how well she can drive. She looks like a car racer to him. His admiration to her climb a notch.

Azalea cuts her forty five minutes drive to only twenty minutes. She wants to go home early. She's worried that her husband is still waiting for her to come home.

After she arrived at Jack's mansion, she tried to calm herself first. She don't want him to think that she rushed her way home when the truth is she really made Bumblebee fly to the road.

She found Jack in the living room reading some documents. He usually do that in his study room but he's reading it here just like Butler Chan said because he is waiting for her. She finds him cute doing that and her heart feels like it skip a beat.

She cough to get her attention.

"Hey your home!". Jack was surprised to see her. He is expecting her to be back at least at midnight.

Azalea walk slowly and sat on the floor near him. She holds some rubix cubes in her hands and flipped it.

"I got bored, so I decided to come home". She makes herself sounds like she's really bored.

But the truth is she feels like giggling this moment but she needs to conceal her excitement. She needs to look like her normal self.

"What are you doing?". She crawled near his legs and sit besides him then she put her chin on top of his knee while looking at the papers in his hands.

Jack's face automatically brightened and he flashed her a wide smile. His very happy while looking at her face on top of his knee. He patted her hair and accidentally brushed her hair back. He saw the bruised in her face.

"What happened to you?". His forehead wrinkled and his face showed some anger.

He lifted Azalea's face and studied her bruised. It looks like it was inflicted by someone.

Azalea move Jack's hand away from her face and she lowered her head.

"I just had an accident". She said to him while looking at the floor.

Jack thought that she's lying again but he understands her. She don't want to make him worried. But his already worried about her since yesterday. He will make sure to find out what really happened to her and punished the person who hurt his wife, the most hurtful way.

Azalea still feels the heavy stare of Jack to her. She don't want to lie but she don't want to be a burden to him. She don't want him to worry about her, she knows how busy of a man he is.

She tried to look at his face and she saw his knitted brows. She puts her chin again in his knee and took his hand and put it on top of her head then hugged his legs. Then she meowed like a cat.

Jack who was surprised by what was her doing suddenly laugh out loud when she meowed like a cat. He feels like all his worries are vanished in an instant.

'She can really make me laugh by her small gestures'. He thought.
