The main event

The old Tyron Shin got up in the stage. He looked all over the hall and smiled. The aura and presence of a high, mighty and powerful mogul is still in him. Probably something that won't leave him until he himself leaves the world.

"Good evening everybody, is everyone having fun tonight?". the crowd cheers. "Good...Good...I am very much happy too, myself. Because tonight I realized the moment I am waiting for just arrived". A smiled so wide flashed in his thin lips.

He paused to look at the reaction of all the people in the room.They are all waiting for the next word he is going to say.

"But before that let me greet this wonderful lady here who is celebrating her 21st birthday right now". And he turned around to face her.

Camilla hurriedly step forward to the old man's side. She is smiling so sweetly and the old man assess her thinking, 'behind this pretty face is a rotten soul'.

"My little Camilla, happy birthday". That's all he said and instructed her to go back to her original place and bring himself back in front of the microphone again.

"Today I am also grateful for the Son's family for letting me sponsored this great event for them". The crowd starts buzzing they were surprised with his announcement.

'Is the old Shin wants to get in the good side of the Son's, but why?'. Everyone is speculating. They are in the lower rank what benefits he can take from them.

The two Son's women were looking at each other and they are both giggling for the reason that they thought the old man Shin is bewitched by Camilla's beauty. This is something big to them. Being favored by the Shin family their position can be drastically change from lower rank to up.

Jack's brows furrowed deep. He can't understand what his grandfather's intentions are. 'What does he mean by being grateful to the Son's?. They are in the lower rank after all'. A big question that he can't even answer.

Carlton becomes silent. He feels like something is about to happen and his guts is telling him he will not going to like it. Lindy seems to noticed her boyfriend's uneasiness.

"What is it?". She asked cluelessly.

"I'm not sure but I'm feeling something big, like a bomb will about to explode". Carlton's guts never failed before but today he feels like hoping it does.

Jack and Ken heard Carltons opinion and they were feeling the same way too. But the thing they can do right now is to wait.

"I would like to ask for Son's head of the family to give me this opportunity to speak in front of your guests, would you mind?". He seeks for Mr. Son's approval and until the head of the Son family nod that's the time he continue to speak.

Everyone was so puzzled. The great old Shin asked for an approval from a lower ranked family. For all they know he can speak to whoever, whenever or wherever he wants without asking for any permission to anyone. This is a great shocked for everyone specially to his grandson.

"Few days ago my eldest grandson, Jack , asked me of settling down".

Sue was astound. "Is your grandfather going to announce our engagement here". She asked Jack surprisingly. She can't seem to understand why it has to be in this event but she couldn't care less as long as she got engaged to Jack she won't mind. She believed after this they can hold their own engagement again somewhere more special.

Jack is in poker face right now. There is something about his grandfather's speech that makes him uneasy.

The old Shin continue his speech. "I, Tyron Shin, will give my blessings now to this grandson of mine". And a wide smile appeared in his almost wrinkled face as he paused.

Sue's grin becomes wide. 'Well, as long as we are getting engage, wherever the engagement is announced won't matter'. She thought. 'We will hold the formality next time'.

Sue Antaler's face is beaming red. She's beginning to recite in her mind what she will say to all the people who will congratulate her. She needs to be polite and graceful while accepting their blessings and compliments. Who would have thought that the old man will bend down to them and just give in. She wants to laugh out loud thinking she hasn't lost her touch yet and she always get what she wants.

"Liam Jack Thrumps Shin, my eldest grandson, my successor, the current CEO of Shin Group of Companies and International. Tonight I am giving you my blessings". The old Shin is looking deep in the crowd but his focus is on Jack's face.

Some socialites are already standing beside Sue Antler. They are already congratulating and complimenting her and she is accepting it gracefully. These people wants to be in her good side. They thought she will be a part of Shin family starting tonight.

"You are now allowed to marry the daughter of Charles Son". Tyron Shin announced without batting an eye.

"What... Mr. Son's daughter!". It sounded like a bomb in everyone's ears.

The crowd began to murmured. Asking each other if they heard it right. "Did he really said it?". That's one of the big question now.

'"The old Tyron Shin wants Mr. Son's daughter and not the Antalers second miss?'".

'"I thought Miss Sue is Mr. Jack Shin' s girlfriend?'".

'"Did they break up already?'".

'"What will going to happen to Miss Sue?'"

A lot of questions are rising because of his statement. The old Shin really knows how to make a bomb and it really explode with a big BANG.

Sue Antaler was frozen stiff from where she stands. She don't understand what's happening. 'Is the old man making a joke because it's not really funny'. She keeps asking herself. She feels like waiting for the word '"just kidding'" to be thrown at her, but there's no such word came after. This old man just gave her a face slap right in front of everyone.

'I knew it.... his old tricks, he use it in him'. Jack glared at the old man in the stage. He is giving him his coldest aura and a deadly gaze. The people who sees him right now knows how angry he is.

The old man saw how his grangson is glaring at him but he is unfazed. He's even smiling devilishly as if he is expecting this. 'You shouldn't give me that look, anyway, this happens all because of you'. He is grinning from ear to ear.

Azalea, Lindy and Carlton were all stunned. They don't know what to say. Azalea and Carlton, even though they are not talking they already know what each others thinking. They will wait to get home and sort things out with their father. They never thought Camilla will be involved in something so big like this.

"Jack, I think there's a misunderstanding here, why don't you talk to your grandfather about this". Ken was concerned about his friend. He feels sorry for him.

He look at Sue still in a frozen state but didn't say anything. He don't know how to console her.

"He should have a good explanation about this". He clenched his fist then looked at her girlfriend beside him. He have no idea what to say or how to explain the situation. Then he looked at the girl on the stage and feel so annoyed. He doesn't like her from the very beginning.
