9 The Real Reason

After Shan left, Zeus's car arrived in front of him. Lisa opened the back door for Zeus to enter. After he entered Lisa closed the door and went to the other side and opened the front passenger seat door then entered in to the car.

Lisa: "Madam is very beautiful, Sir."

Zeus: "Yes she is.(After pausing for a second) Lisa take a break and go home today. I want to go and meet my parents."

Lisa:"Yes sir."

Lisa told the driver to pull over next to the subway. Then she came out of the car, greeted Zeus and went to her home. The car started to move to the direction of the Old Morrison family residence.

Zeus took out his phone and checked it. He found that there was about 20 missed calls and a bunch of unread messages. It was from Zeus's younger brother Drake Joseph. Zeus dialed the number and it went straight to the voice mail. So he looked the messages. Zeus could see how excited his brother is from his messages.

The messages were like 'Bro, are you really on a date?' ' Mom told me you are meeting my future sis-in-law. Is that true?' 'So you are interested in girls.' ' Did you meet sis-in-law?' 'How is she? Do you like her?' 'Is she cute? What is she like? Is she beautiful?' etc. Someone was more excited and curious than Zeus.

The reason for Drake's excitement is that whenever he tried to introduce a girl to Zeus, he would just reject Drake's offer without even giving a chance. Drake was very worried about Zeus because of the false rumors about the sexuality of his only brother. Drake wanted Zeus to date some girl so much so that the rumors about Zeus will be proved as a false rumor. So he tried very hard to make Zeus fall in love with some of his female friends.

He never understood why Zeus is never taking any action to deal with these false rumors. Drake knew Zeus the most, and he knew that whenever Zeus is falsely accused on any matter he will take immediate action. But when it came to this rumor, Zeus never tried anything to prove it as fake. It was not like him at all.

Little did Drake know about the real reason why Zeus is never interested in any girls introduced by Drake.

(Nine years ago on Zeus's fifteenth birthday)

Joseph Morrison asked Zeus to meet him at garden after the birthday party. Zeus went to garden and asked his dad that why did his dad wanted to see him.

"Zeus, I asked you to meet me so that I can tell you something important."

"What is it, dad?" Zeus asked.

"I am going to tell you about the promise I made with my best friend William Van. And you are the one to fulfill it."

"I don't understand, dad. What promise and why am I involved in your promise with your best friend?" Zeus had a doubtful and questioning look on his face.

"William was the son of the Nirvana family. He was supposed to inherit the Nirvana family business. But I was nothing but son of a small businessman. He was actually a good friend of mine. Whenever I had a hard time in my life, William was there with me to share my hard time. I was determined to become successful in life. When William inherited their businesses, he helped me so much so that I could start my own business. Slowly I become successful with the help of him. Time passed and our friendship grew to brotherhood. We found our love in our life and got married to them. We promised each other that we will become in-laws if we have children of opposite gender. But after your birth we had to move to abroad for the business and our friendship and brotherhood left behind in our heart. We kept contact with each other and the promise we made to each other have to be fulfilled." Joseph said with some hope in his eyes.

"So dad, you are saying that I have to marry your friend's daughter when we come to age?" Zeus asked to confirm what he heard is true.

"Yes it was the promise I made with William." Joseph confirmed his son's doubt.

"No dad. That is too much to compromise. Moreover, I don't even know her and you want me to agree to this. Sorry dad, I can't do that." Zeus argued back.

"Son, I know this is too much to ask but just think through it and then come to an answer. I said this to you now because I want to make sure that no one will be coming in between your and her life. So think about it and come to a decision." Joseph tried hard to convince his stubborn firstborn son.

"If I agree to this now then it means I agree to love this girl forever and never date anyone else. You are asking too much to your son who is just about to start his love life, dad. Zeus defended his dad's move.

"I know that Zeus. OK then do this, take your time to know about her and then if you don't want to be with her, I will respect your decision." Joseph said.

Zeus's expression changed slightly. He started to think deeply about it and after a few minutes he said.

"OK I agree to that. But if I really don't want to be with her then make sure that you will respect my decision."

"Deal." Joseph felt relieved. He knew that Zeus will eventually like Shanell after knowing about her. So he contacted William and shared the news about the promise they had.

Next week Zeus came back to country for a week's vacation and stayed with his grandparents. Zeus told them about Shanell and why he is back to the country. His grandparents told him about the Nirvana family. Zeus contacted his two friends Brian and Tyler to meet him. When they came Zeus told them to collect the details about Shanell and inform him. They collected details about Shanell and informed him.

After seeing the information about Shanell, Zeus suddenly started to have some interest in her. She is bold and arrogant outside but inside she is pure, sweet and kind. She is strong, powerful and willful girl. She can do anything if she put her mind in it. But she has no freedom to do anything. She knows different foreign languages, she knows how to ride a horse, she knows how to shoot with a gun, and she has an excellent marksmanship, she knows different martial arts, she knows how to cook different cuisines, she has an excellent fashion sense. Overall she is special but her situation is like a bird in the golden cage. She wants to fly to the heights of sky, but she is blocked by the golden bars of the cage.

He finds it unique. It was like her birth reason is to be with Zeus. She was born to be with him. Her parents are raising her as if she is the only one for him. And she is the perfect match for him in every way. She never knew about Zeus but as she grows older she was forced to learn about the likes and dislikes of Zeus. He felt his heart crumbling. He understood that her very existence is for him, and she had to compromise for her every wish and dreams for him. Even though she does not know why her parents treat her like that she is someone for business collaboration with whom she marries. She never complained about it but accepted everything with a smile. So Zeus thought about it seriously. His heart told him to break those bars of the cage and let her fly to the sky, and he decided to do so.

Zeus went back to his parents after one week's visit. But now his mind is clear, and he had made the decision about what his dad told him. As he reached home he went straight to Joseph's study room looking for his dad to answer his dad's question about his decision. He saw that his mother Gina Wayne is also with his father.

"Dad, I have decided. Shanell will be my wife but I have a condition dad." Zeus told Joseph.

"What is your condition?" Joseph asked.

"I want to marry her as soon as she turns eighteen." Zeus said.

"But why so soon son? Is there any reason for your condition? Shanell will be so young and don't you think it is too much for her?" Gina asked.

"No it is not too much for her. I want her to be with me as soon as possible." Zeus replied.

"But Zeus I don't think that she will be willing to do so." Gina said.

"Mom, I want her to be with me because only then I can make her every dream to come true. I want her happiness more than anything." Zeus said to his mom.

After hearing what Zeus has said Gina and Joseph looked at each other and smiled.

"Zeus I am proud of you son. You made your life's big decision in just two weeks. I think you very much liked Shanell after knowing about her." Joseph said joyfully.

"Yes dad, I like her. She is unique." Zeus smiled.

Seeing the iron cold son smiling Joseph's and Gina's mind filled with happiness. They wanted to share this happy news with William and Jiya, so they asked Zeus to leave and made a call to William.

Zeus hired Brian and Tyler who helped him to get information about Shanell to keep doing it. So that he can always know how Shanell is and what are her likes and dislikes and also know everything about her. As time passed, Zeus fell in love with Shanell without even realizing. At that time Brian and Tyler become bodyguards of Shanell. William appointed them considering the recommendation of Zeus. But when Shanell was in school they were not allowed to follow her because of the school's strict rules. On the vacations when she came back to home, only then they were her bodyguards. Shanell didn't like it, so she asked them to keep a distance from her. They agreed, and so they always kept a safe distance from her.

(Present day)

Zeus thought about everything happened after the day when his dad told him about Shanell and his promise to his best friend, how he had agreed to it and how he fell in love with her. Then he thought about the incidents happened while he was in the campus. When he was studying in Harvard University there were some girls who asked him on date, and he wanted to avoid that to happen again. So he asked his friend there to help him. Her name was Candice. He asked her to pretend as his girlfriend, and she did that. After that, everyone in the campus thought that she is his girlfriend.

He kept this incident a secret so no one ever knows about it.

When Zeus was studying in Harvard University his family moved back to the country, and they done the business from there. As he was in his last term, their family business had some internal conflicts. So Joseph asked Zeus to become the temporary CEO and manage their international branch to solve the issues. Zeus decided to complete his studies along with managing the company and went to the company. He succeeded to solve the issues, and he worked hard to make the company have great profit. In just six months company became internationally well-known, and he became one of the richest man in the country. Then he graduated from the University and became the permanent CEO of Zeus International.

One month ago Zeus came back to the country, only then Drake got to know about the real reason why Zeus never accepted any girls. Drake felt very proud of his brother. Drake never thought that his brother is secretly in love with a girl for so long, and he is so much devoted to her so that no other girl could enter his iron cold heart.

Zeus dialed Drake's number again and after a moment the phone started ringing.

"Hello bro, why didn't you attend my call? Did you see my messages? Is that why you called me now?" Drake asked as soon as he attended the call.

"I was with Shan."

"Shan??? You call sis-in-law by that name? Bro brother my dearest brother is that her nickname? Can I call sis-in-law by that name too?" Drake started to getting pumped by energy to question his cold brother.

"Yes it's her nickname. You can ask her about how you should call her when you meet her?" Zeus said coldly.

"When can I meet sis-in-law bro? I can't wait. Can I meet her tomorrow?" Excited Drake asked Zeus.

"No you can meet her when we have a family dinner." Drake could literally feel the cold aura emitted from Zeus.

"Are you coming to the old residence tonight?"

"Yes"

"Big bro can't you just tell me everything together? Why are you making me to ask so many questions to you?"

"I don't have to tell everything to you."

Hearing the straight answer from his brother Drake felt his heart is pierced with some ninja sword. But he engulfed the pain felt and asked again.

"Oh come on brother. Can't you just say at least this to me? I am eagerly waiting to hear about sis-in-law and your meeting today. So please hurry and come home quickly."

"Drake when I get home I need the file on Sparta Corporations international business deals on my study room." Zeus ordered and Drake immediately shifted to his working mode.

"Yes bro I collected all information about them. The file will be on your study room desk."

"After dealing with Sparta Corporation we can say that every business enemies we had has been dealt. Then I promise you to have a month vacation on Florida."

"Is that true bro? I can have a month vacation on Florida. You are super cool, bro." Drake answered excitedly.

"I will be home in an hour."

Then Zeus hung up the phone.
