20 Annoying people do exist

MONDAY. 7:31 AM

Growing up, I was taught not to hate. Hate brought destruction, war, jealousy and sadness into the world. So I tried my best to not hate anyone by staying away from annoying people but when that person keeps coming towards you...

"What the hell are you doing?"

I stop trying to move my hair out of my face, realizing how familiar the voice is. It's almost like the voice follows me everywhere I go. Sadly, I have grown too familiar to that thick and calm voice filled with emotions.

I sigh then slowly lift my head up and there indeed is Jake standing in front of me, staring straight into my eyes with a pissed off look. Then I finally realize something else.

"Now that I think about it, you start every conversation with 'what the hell are you doing?' Why is that?" I tease him.

He looks unbothered by my observation and continues to glare at me. "Why are you here?" He asks. "Shouldn't you not be here?"

I fold my arms, standing up to my full 167cm once again, "I can be wherever I want to be." I eye him. "Geez."

He copies my action; folding his arms also. "Alright, fine then. Now go."

I frown.

"Let me see you walk out of this section and go play another sport since you can be wherever you want."

This can not be happening. There's no way in planet candy I am going to let this happen. He's doing it again; being an obstacle.

A few minutes ago, I was extremely happy thinking this was finally my chance with Adrian; there were no classes and no Madison. But of course, someone else had to stand up and try to ruin my chance.

I stare hard at him through slits, "Gosh what is wrong with you? Why are you doing this?" He just stares at me with his evil face. "Do I have something that's yours? Did I do something to you? If none of those things happened then you have no reason to be speaking to me." I make a frustrated sigh. "I don't even know you."

He smirks then bites his bottom lip for a moment which causes me to nervously gulp. "You don't know me." He repeats what I said like it amuses him.

I sigh, "Am I supposed to?" I ask with a rude tone.

He goes quiet for some seconds as he looks around, then he returns his gaze back to me and it's a hard one. "You're not playing lacrosse; I'm not letting you."

I lightly stomp my foot. "You don't get to fuc-" I stop myself short, swallowing my last words. "You don't get to tell me what to do, so mind your business." I glare at his straight face. "I'm warning you."

He scoffs with an amused smile. What's so funny now?

"Don't tell me you actually want to play lacrosse."

"And what if I do?" I give him nasty looks.

His eyes widen a fraction, "Are you nuts? Lacrosse is a very dangerous game. And you still want to-"

I cut him off, "This has nothing to do with you. We are not friends, why do you keep on talking to me?" I scrunch my face up. "It seems like you haven't learnt your lesson after I painted your nails red."

He grits his teeth at me, "You're so lucky we have people like Lara and Rachel to take it off." He puts up his fingers, revealing clear nails.

"Well, that's just the beginning. Piss me off one more time and I'll do more than that."

I still find it funny– his reaction when he saw his nails all red like a woman's. I will have loved it if it still stayed red, too bad we have people like Lara and Rachel—beauty emergency queens—the most annoying people I've met. But it could be this fish in front of me because he still won't listen, I threw his headphones out the window and did his hands wrong, yet he still won't get out of my way. I hate to admit it; he is strong and resilient, I can even see it in his green eyes. My father would like him.

"Kinsley." He calls my name in a calm, serious tone. "Just get off this field. Go do something else. Laundry, homework, eat or even sleep."

I move my neck a bit, trying to relieve stress. Aish, this boy is really getting on my nerves. I take it back, my father would dislike him.

He's so lucky I made a deal not to curse. He really has no idea what he's getting himself into. First, it was three days ago- Friday, and now this camping trip. I don't get why he's even doing this, can't he just let me be? I look to him again, a thought popping into my mind: Or did my mum pay him to do this?

"The aim of this camping trip is to try new things, whether good or bad, safe or dangerous." I speak. "And I know you're not in charge of Campeek!, coach already gave me a go-ahead so who in the world are you to say this?" I finish in the coldest voice I can muster up.

He grits his teeth hard to the extent his jaws begin to flex. He makes a frustrated sound and runs his hand through his dark blonde hair. "Kinsley," He begins but my babysitter interrupts.

Lennon runs up to me, panting slightly. "Kinsley what's going on? I turned around and couldn't find you." He explains then notices I was speaking to someone before he came in and looks to Jake, his breaths finally slowing down. "Is something wrong?" he asks me.

Jake detaches his gaze from me to look at Lennon while I still keep my nasty glare on him.

'Just ignore him Kinsley, remember you have to be on your best behavior. You can simply not ruin all that because of this rat.' I tell myself.

"Nothing's wrong, Lennon." I start, "I have no idea why I'm even listening to someone I don't know." I begin to turn away from Jake to Lennon. "Let's just go."

Lennon frowns a bit but doesn't question it and lets me have it the way I want. He nods and I follow behind him as we go fetch my gears.

"Kinsley."

I wasn't going to turn but the way he called my name… no one's ever called it that way before.

My heart flutters a little as I turn to hear him. He's still standing in that same spot, his dark blonde hair moving slightly under the influence of the cold morning air, his skin so pale which makes his pink lips very visible- actually they almost look red as a result of biting it too much, his green eyes look tired and worried. Is he like that because of me?

"Don't do this."

Duck! He is so frustrating.

I move a little closer to him, "No."

He runs a hand through his thick hair, "Hell, you're so stubborn."

"No. You're the stubborn one, you're also frustrating and you're nuts too!"

I have to admit it, I do sound like a kid now. We are both arguing like little ten year olds.

"Why do you even want to do this? Can't you see how the boys all get injured from playing this game?" He pauses, panting from talking so hard. His eyes look so soft and innocent that if I didn't know how he really was I would've felt remorse for him. "You'd only hurt yourself."

But I knew what kind of schmuck laid beneath those eyes.

I move more closer to make sure I am getting my point across, "I do not need your concern. I'll do whatever I want. Now if you would just leave me alone?"

He stares at me with a bitter expression, "Is this because of him?"

I pause.

"Are you doing this because of that scumbag?"

I open my mouth to speak up but nothing comes out.

He smirks. "It's because of him, isn't it?"

I just stare at Jake unable to defend myself.

He smiles but I can tell it's a fake one. "Fine." He begins backing up from me. "Fine, I won't stop you. You can play lacrosse all you want." Then his whole demeanor changes instantly, "But I swear to God Kinsley, if you get hurt, I will not come to help you."

That statement sparks fire in me and I open up my mouth, "you sure do think highly of yourself, why would I call to you for help?"

"Fine." He says and walks off.

"Fine." I yell, turn around fuming in anger to see Lennon giving me confused stares. "Don't say anything, I'll just go get the things myself." I walk past him angrily.

"Where are you going? You don't know the way." Lennon runs after me.
