15 Popular than the king

...

"Stop asking too many questions and congratulations on winning this round, you qualify for the next stage of the competition," her voice echoed throughout the entire battle arena.

After her announcement everyone in the battle arena went silent. Firstly, we all taught she was a beginner stage cultivator since we couldn't sense her cultivation level and she also looked weak and fragile but, it turns out she was a semi-Legendary stage cultivator.

"Semi Legendary stage cultivator," I muttered in shock.

Everyone in the battle arena was petrified apart from the higher ups in the academy.

"How can she be a semi Legendary stage cultivator?" A student among the crowd asked, "isn't she just the staff in charge of student admissions?"

~"Boy, you didn't disappoint," she said as she ignored the question the student asked, "I'll be expecting you at the finals," she said with a smile as she headed back to her seat.

"*Heck, I muttered."

"How did I get entangled with a semi Legendary stage cultivator and not only that but, what was she doing here?"

In this cultivation realm, the strongest cultivation level a person had ever attained was an initial Supreme stage cultivator. Ever since then, most people had never attained this cultivation level and only few could even reach the Legendary rank.

However most people who had the royal blood were able to advance to the Legendary stage easily due to their powerful bloodline but, it was rare to see an unknown semi Legendary stage cultivator since most of them were already working for the king.

As for those who didn't swear their loyalty to the king, they were termed as rebels and imprisoned or executed since they were one of the strongest individuals and were capable of causing mass destruction.

"Shouldn't she have kept herself hidden or maybe she already works for the king," I mumbled, "nah, why should I be worried about her? It's not like she's helped me before or someone related to me in anyway."

~ "The winner of this round is Kai Everette," The instructor announced.

"Hey, I never said I gave up so this match isn't over," my opponent shouted.

"Shut up," the instructor yelled, "do you really think you would be alive if that attack had hit you?"

"So what, I could have simply formed an earth wall to block the attack besides, my mana reserve is still much compared to his, he already looks worn out," the boy shouted.

~ "Someone should throw this idiot out, he's ruining the tournament for everyone else," someone from the audience shouted.

"Yeah, throw him out," another person shouted, "he has already lost the match match but, he's just trying to find excuses so that his match can continue."

"So are you willing to leave or should I throw you out?" the instructor asked with an irritated look, "you better give me your answer now, you know we have a lot of competitors left."

"Fine, I'll leave," my opponent said as he gritted his teeth, "just you wait, I'll come back stronger and I'll get my revenge," he yelled as he left the podium.

"Alright then, the next set of participant should come to the podium," the instructor announced.

...

"Kai, that ability you used, where did you get it from?" Sophie asked as I sat next to her, "can you lend it to me, I'll return it back to you the moment I master it."

"It's not possible," I replied.

"You don't want to give me the ability book right? Tsk, what could I have expected from a shameless and annoying person," she muttered with a sigh.

"Hey, who are you calling shameless and greedy?" I asked angrily, "it's not that I don't want to give you but, I also got the ability book from someone and I had already returned it a while back so I don't have it anymore."

"Wait, who gave you the ability book? Can you also introduce me to this person?" She asked.

"Unfortunately, it's a no," I replied.

There was no way I could give her any ability given to me by my system even if I had a physical copy besides she didn't notice the blood bond was the ability I used and taught it was the earth drill.

"Tsk, you're greedy and shameless," she snorted.

[Warning: Strong enmity towards host detected]

"So you're the kid who won the last round," I heard someone, "and that ability of yours was not that bad."

"Who are yo- ah, prince Saniel, I never expected us to be acquaintances so soon," I said sarcastically.

"You sure have a sharp tongue for someone who is weak," he replied in with a strict tone.

"I do know I am weak but that's for now," I said with a light smirk, "besides, I'm not like some people who were fed with tons of soul shards to get to the stage they are at currently.

"Are you implying that you're going to be stronger than me and that I am only able to get to my current position only with the help of soul shards," he asked.

"Prince Saniel, I'm a huge fan of yours," Sophie intervened as she tried to reduce the tension that was forming.

"So what's your name girl? you look like someone I had meet in the past but, I'm not sure you're the one and that's why I'll like to have your name."

"I'm really honored," Sophie replied, "and my name is Sophie, Sophie Winston."

"Ah, it's you," he said with a smile, "my father told me about how you and the other boy named Kai killed a soul beast overlord, I'm really impressed.

"Ah, it was no big deal besides, we were just lucky," Sophie said with a light smile.

"You know no matter how much luck a person have, it will all be useless if his enemies have absolute strength," he said, "and if possible, I would love to also meet that Kai later on."

"Alright then, I'll try my best to convince him to see you," Sophie replied, "you know he doesn't really have a good impression of you."

"Haha," Prince Saniel laughed, "it's rare to see people who are uninterested in me, I can't wait to meet that kid, he must be a really be an interesting person."

"Alright, I got to go now, the qualifiers round for the student in the main academy is about to start," he said, "and good luck to you Sophie."

~ "Hey, how come you're so popular and yet I'm still unknown?" I asked Sophie with a confused look on my face.

How could the side characters push the MC which is me to the position of an audience.

"You all should wait and watch, by the end of this year tournament, my name is going to be known by every single person," I muttered with a light grin, "I'll even be more popular than the king."
