73 Father

Ever since Tom came back, I could feel the difference around me. I didn't know what was the reason for the change, but I could feel it clearly and it became stronger as day passed.

And, when I talked about change, I meant the presence of ghost.

Yeah, somehow my sensitivity towards them increased as I could sense them now. I could also see them sometime and I would be lying if I said I was not scared by their appearance. Most of them were in hideous state and some even emitting bad aura around them that made me feel fear.

The good news is they would not enter my room and the furthest they could do was haunting my balcony. Damn... that was my favorite spot.

Who said ghost would not appear in the broad daylight?

Wrong. It was just in the broad daylight, it tended to get brighter and their transparent body sometimes got even more transparent that people normally could not see. But, they were actually there all the time. A bit cloudy and I could see them clearly.

I used to dislike the brightness of the sun, but now I couldn't express how much I loved it and did not even care if I got sunburn because of staying under the sun for too long. Well, not that I would get one, I got a good sunblock cream to protect my skin. Haha...

At least, I didn't need to see them under the glaring light of the sun.

After Tom returned, I got back to my daily activity. Of course, I couldn't avoid meeting Sanji. As expected, he was asking me where I brought the ghost from before.

"She went away, of course." I answered.

His sharp eyes as if wanted to pierce me. "I didn't know you could pull out a ghost from someone's body that way. They thanked you, you know?" He said.

"Ah, I had no idea as well. I don't even know why I did that. Haha..." I let out a hollow laugh as I avoided his gaze.

"Well, it doesn't mean it can't be done. I knew someone who could do the same, only this person pulls it on top of the possessed one's body. It's like pulling out weed." Sanji said casually.

"Oh yeah, who is it?" I asked, not at all wishing for a reply.

"Your father." Sanji smiled at me, but it was not his smile that made me stunned.

My father? I didn't know my father could do something like that. Why haven't I seen him do ... anything like that?

"From your reaction, I bet you must not know about it." Sanji let out a small laugh and I swear I could feel invisible daggers were flying towards me.

Some of his lunatic fan-girls must be here.

"Your father was one of the best exorcist, too bad he stopped meddling with the ghost after he finished his journey to the South. Well, of course his skill increased after his journey, but he rarely dealt with ghost anymore. But, I only saw him use his skill twice, first was when I was still a kid and the second was after his journey, one day before I met you. So, I had a very good understanding that his ability had somehow increased. And, whatever he got from his journey, I see it being passed down to you."

Hearing him describing about my father like that, how cool was that? I almost couldn't stop myself from grinning foolishly but at the same time, a part of my heart and rational brain processed the entire story in a high speed information processing. Did my father really have the ability?

"I've never known... I mean, I know my father can see and has some understanding towards their world, but I really have no idea he could be that way. When did he go to the South?" I asked as I looked at him curiously.

"When you were about three to four years old." He answered lightly.

"And how old were you back then to be able to remember everything so detailed?"

"I've always been a smart boy, especially to the things that I am interested with." He shrugged and put on his annoying smirk. His gaze was as if taunting me, 'I'm this smart, what can you do about it?'

"Which reminds me..." His voice cut the word that was about to come out from my mouth. He looked even more serious as he leaned forward, staring right through my eyes. "What did she mean by 'the boy in your dorm'?"
