My Temporary Husband is Too Proud!

Philadelphia, Rittenhouse Hotel, Room 1208.

Bella Scott took a deep breath, prepared herself, deftly unlocked the door, and quickly dashed in.

Seeing the men and women inside the room, she was stunned.

The informant told her an affair was taking place here, so why wasn't the suspect male present? Instead, there was a group of strangers having a massive party.

"Who are you?" a man nearest to the door glared at Bella Scott.

Subconsciously covering half her face, Bella meekly replied, "Sorry, I entered the wrong room..."

As she turned to leave the troublesome place, a deep male voice suddenly spoke up, "My company for this evening..."

Pausing for a moment, the man continued, "Come over and sit beside me."

Upon hearing the familiar voice, Bella turned to look. In the dimly lit corner, she saw a man leaning lazily against the back of a sofa.

As he raised his eyes, she met his deep gaze.

Edward Anderson?

Although they lived in the same city, she hadn't seen Edward up close in two years.

Over the past two years, she had only learned about Edward from online or televised news—for example, about his numerous scandals with female celebrities or his ambiguous relationship with a certain supermodel, or how many hotels he had opened domestically within the year.

In short, despite being childhood friends and her former fiancé, everything she knew about Edward Anderson came from external sources...

"What are you standing there for? Come here!" Edward spoke in a flat tone.

Bella unconsciously moved closer to Edward.

The very next moment, Bella's mouth clamped fiercely onto Edward's neck.

Edward's body tensed.

Due to Bella using too much force, they both tumbled to the ground together, creating an awkward situation.

The onlookers burst into laughter, while one particularly nosy person egged them on.

Edward pushed Bella off of him.

He stood up nonchalantly and said, "I never would have thought that a random catch like her would be so wild."

His neck ached faintly, an indication of how much force Bella had exerted in her bite. She clearly hadn't changed her ferocious ways one bit.

"It takes a fierce woman like her to keep you in check," someone interjected, trying to get a closer look at Bella's face.

Ducking and dodging, she soon ran out of places to hide, eventually giving in and embracing Edward from behind, burying her face in his back.

"Edward, cover for me..." Before Bella could finish her sentence, she was dragged into a bedroom.

Bella slammed the door shut and threw a punch at Edward.

Easily dodging her attack, Edward chuckled softly, "Flower fist embroidery leg!"

This undoubtedly added fuel to the fire. Bella's movements grew sharper and more threatening, relentlessly aiming at Edward's weaknesses. Unfortunately for her, she only tired herself out, failing to inflict any harm on Edward. In the end, Edward gained the advantage...

The curious onlookers outside the door eavesdropped on the commotion from within. The continuous sound of pounding could be heard in the bedroom as if describing an intense battle.

One extremely curious person couldn't help but push the door open slightly.
