Isn't this too OP?

Calvin was lost in his thoughts. He couldn't believe that this was what his father was working on.

To be honest, he had zero idea what the device he was working on was supposed to be. He had a few guesses but he never would've thought that it would be something this advanced.

He still couldn't believe what the system had informed him, but there was one way to find out the truth.

"How exactly do you work?" Calvin asked.

[Processing query...]

[Answer: Not found]

"Not found? You mean to tell me you don't even know how you work?"

[My programming forbids me from revealing that information]

That made sense. If someone else had gotten their hands on this and it did what it said it did, the world might have been in danger.

"Since it's like that, just tell me how to create an ability," Calvin said.

[Abilities can be created using the command; «create»]

Calvin nodded as he got that information. However, he wasn't foolish enough to just create an ability without understanding how it fully worked.

If he created an ability and he ended up doing something stupid like killing himself, then everything would be for naught.

He had to approach this with as much caution as possible.

"System, explain everything I need to know about ability creation," Calvin ordered.

[Processing query...]

[Answer: Abilities can be created as long as they are described accurately. Incomplete descriptions can lead to the creation of abilities that do not fit the purpose of why they are created.

When abilities are created, the system will describe their usage and also the cons/weaknesses that they possess.

Every ability has a con/weakness. This is the system's only shortcoming.

The number of abilities a host user can create is endless, but only three can be equipped at a time. To equip any other one, one of the equipped three has to be unequipped.

After an ability is created, it can be updated if further corresponding and relevant descriptions are given.

That is all.]

After reading all of this, there was only one thought in Calvin's brain.

"Isn't this a little.... overpowered?"

No matter how Calvin decided to look at this, this system could practically make him a god!

Unable to hold back his curiosity anymore, Calvin decided that it was time to create an ability. This was the only way to know if what the system was saying was the truth.

The only problem now was that Calvin didn't know which ability to create. He wanted to start small to test the system parameters, but fuck it.

He was never one to start from the bottom. He would create the most overpowered ability that he could think of right now.

"Initiate command; «create»," Calvin said.

[Command accepted. Awaiting description...]

"Ability to create and control everything," Calvin said.

He knew that this description was quite inadequate and the system might not interpret it correctly, but hey, he was just testing the parameters.

Even if it didn't work, he could just try again.

[Processing description...]

[Verdict: Inadequate]

"Just as I thought," Calvin sighed.

But just as he was about to update his description, another interface popped up.

[Automatically modifying description...]

[*new* Verdict: adequate]

[Creating ability...]

The system automatically modified his description to the closest ability possible!

Calvin was shocked. The system didn't say that it could do that. This practically just changed his thought process.

[Ability created]

[Ability: Matter manipulator

Description: This ability allows the host user to create, destroy and reform anything of his choice. As long as it can be imagined, it can be done.

Cons/weaknesses:

*Cannot create living entities.

*Creation, destruction, and reformation can cause physical weakness that could lead to death.]

[Ability detected... Automatically equipping new ability...]

[Equipped abilities>>

-*new* Matter manipulator-

-None available-

-None available-]

Calvin watched everything in silence.

After he read everything he saw on the interface, he knew that he had to take this with a pinch of salt.

An ability to create anything that he could imagine?

That just seemed too insane to be real!

Well, only one way to find out.

"How do I use the ability?" Calvin asked the system.

[Processing query...]

[Answer: You have the power already, just imagine using it.]

Calvin was a bit taken aback. The tone of the answer almost felt like the system was sentient but he quickly brushed it off.

Based on the description of the power, and the con which said he could die from using this ability, Calvin decided to try creating something small.

According to the con, he would experience physical weakness that could lead to death and since the system didn't emphasize further, it was best to start small.

Calvin closed his eyes and stretched his hand in front of him. He then began to imagine having a tennis ball in his grasp.

He could feel slight itching sensations around his body but he ignored them. After about five seconds, they stopped.

Calvin opened his eyes and right there in his grasp, was a tennis ball.

It worked!

He couldn't believe it. He was about to jump for joy when he suddenly felt a wave of weakness wash over his body.

His knees buckled and he fell on his butt. He was so weak that he couldn't even raise a finger!

"Wow, it seems that physical weakness was no joke," Calvin commented.

It was clear now that if he had created something bigger than a tennis ball, he would've died for sure.

Putting all of this in mind, Calvin went through the cons/weaknesses of the matter manipulator ability again.

The only way around these weaknesses was to create abilities that would counter the weaknesses of different abilities.

With this in mind, Calvin created two more abilities.

[Abilities created]

[Ability: Infinite stamina

Description: This ability grants the host user unlimited stamina. Getting tired is not an option.

Cons/weaknesses:

*This ability can cause the host user to space out at certain intervals.

*User will feel the pain that would increase with every minute that this ability is active.]

[Ability: Numbness

Description: This ability will make the host user unable to feel anything.

Con/weakness

*Host user will be unable to feel ANYTHING.]

[Equipped abilities>>

-Matter manipulator-

-*new* Infinite stamina-

-*new* Numbness-

The infinite stamina ability was meant to counter the matter manipulator weakness while the numbness ability countered the infinite stamina's weakness.

These abilities were not exactly the best, but they served their purpose.

Calvin was now able to test the limits of the matter manipulator ability and so far, there has been none.

He had been able to create everything!

Cars, houses, entire lands, planets, just name it and he did it!

Calvin was no longer in his lab. He had gone out on a creation and destruction spree.

He created planets and destroyed them in a heartbeat. Everything was under his control. At this moment, he truly did feel like a god.

At some point, Calvin felt like he wasn't testing the true limits of this system. He felt like he was limiting its true potential by doing these simple things.

Calvin then had an idea.

Following up on this idea, he decided to create a whole new dimension so he could do it freely.

He closed his eyes, and by the time he opened them three seconds later, he was standing on a glowing large grid platform that was floating in absolute nothingness.

"This is perfect!" Calvin exclaimed.

"Initiate command, «create» "

[Command accepted. Awaiting description...]

"Ability to bring forth fictional characters, like those in comic books and mangas, into real life!"

Calvin's idea was to face off against powerful beings so that he could test the limits of the system.

While it was impractical and the limits of the system could be tested using different methods, this was the most fun way to do it.

[Processing description...]

[Verdict: adequate]

[Creating ability...]

[Ability created]

[Ability: Dimensional pull

Description: the ability to bring beings from other dimensions and universes into yours.

Cons/Weaknesses

*These beings cannot be sent back once brought.

*You can only bring forth one being at a time.

*These beings will enter an enraged state once they spend more than five minutes out of their dimension.]

Dimensional pull?

Wait, did this mean that all those fictional characters exist?!

Calvin was dumbfounded. From what he just read, it looked like all those things they thought were fiction were not fiction.

He read through the cons/weakness and he could not see anything that would warrant him worrying. He was going to fight them anyway, so their being in an enraged state didn't spoil his plan in the slightest.

Calvin then removed the matter manipulator from his equipped skill and put the dimensional pull there instead.

The next thing to do now was to decide on a fictional character he wanted to fight against.

"I guess in the end, there's only one in mind right now." Calvin smiled.

He stretched his hand out and a white portal appeared in mid-air. After a few seconds, he could finally see him.

With his red cape blowing behind him and his beautiful blue suit with the swirling "S" in the middle of his chest, he flew out of the portal.

It was superman! The one and only!

"Time to fulfill a childhood dream," Calvin said and his smile widened.
