"Error!"

Arne felt tears form, the sunny blue sky became blurry. He hit his head, his hand hurt which pissed him off even more. He'd try to stay positive but it had gotten harder and it seemed pointless. He was weak, bony, fragile, and now he thought he had gotten delirious.

Also, his foot hurt like hell right now.

10 minutes earlier...

Panicking, Arne roughly dragged the bowstring back. As he released it, he tripped on roots, the arrow flew right into the blue brisk air never to be seen again. That was his last arrow.

The slime was the size of a football and furiously rolled towards him. Somehow, Arne found the light green slime's face menacing.

Arne bashed his free hand into the slime but it bounced back. The slime advanced and enveloped his left foot. Normally it would through its acidic inside erode its target, but due to it being so weak it only tickled him. He cried laughter as he lifted his foot and smashed it into the ground, trying to rid himself of the slime.

Luckily, he managed to crush on the slimes core, killing it. He picked up the slime core and put it into his left pocket as his right pocket had too many holes. He clenched his fist and said, "one small slime for humanity, one giant leap for me!"

Arne had an idol he admired very much, that idols name was Jack. He had heard that when Jack was young, he'd go out and shoot slime cores since they were tricky to hit.

He'd save up and buy twenty arrows, and then he'd shoot them at slimes, but he'd usually miss every shot. When he missed a shot the slime would roll over the arrow ruining it. Then he'd have to bash them to death.

Suddenly, out of the bushes jumped a purple slime, it headed straight for Arne. Arne reflexively kicked it, but the slime enveloped his foot. This time it didn't tickle, it burnt. Arne started screaming as he shook and stomped his foot. The slime had already burnt through his shoe.

Unable to control the pain, Arne began jumping around and jumped into a bush. Before he knew it he was rolling down a hill aimed towards a river. He heard the slime give a small, very light-hearted, shriek as they rolled towards the calm river.

Splash.

They were in the water and the slimes shriek began fading. The water was killing it. Arne clenched his teeth, the water felt sour and cold against his foot. He grabbed the unique shaped slime core and swam towards the beach.

He got out and laid down beside a large tortoise, which loudly snickered upon the human's arrival. Arne said, "I get it, I get it, I'll be gone soon you old… turtle!" The tortoise only understood one word, "turtle". It snapped at Arne making him jerk away from it.

"Ow, ow, ow," His foot's skin had practically been corroded and the sand only made it more painful. He had been through worse, but the pain never got old, it had a way of staying unique to the moment.

He took out the unique slime core and looked at it. Unlike the other slime cores which looked like grey stone, this one was see through, and malleable. Ironically, It felt slimy. He decided to rub it against his foot, perhaps it would lessen the pain.

It worked, for a second, then the wound started shrieking as if he generously seasoned it with salt. He clenched his mouth as muffled screams escaped his mouth. He rolled around and took quick breaths, small tears formed, he tried to ignore the pain but it was the only thing his mind thought about.

Gradually, the pain began lessening, but the wound was still there. Something stole his attention, in the middle of his vision a blue box appeared.

...

He took a deep breath and tried to stand up, but the pain reminded him of his injury. He had to balance himself up on one leg, and he began skitting towards the town. He wouldn't give up just yet.

"So long you old turtle."

The tortoise had gotten enough and chased after him, luckily both turtles and tortoises were slow. "Haha, you'll never catch me turtle!"

But, when enraged to this point, the tortoise broke its limits and sprinted at Arne making him jump twice as fast.

"+1 speed"

"+1 speed"

"+1 pain resistance"

Blue boxes flashed in Arne's vision. He got slightly angry at his mind but continued skitting.

----

There was an old man with a rough beard sitting beside the counter. He'd spend a majority of his days wallowing at the adventure guild . He was skilled at healing but really depressive, causing him to be quite unpopular. But Arne didn't mind that.

"I can't thank you enough old man!" Arne said.

"Yeah huh. Be careful." The old man intoned lifelessly

"No promises!" Arne walked out of the adventure guild which was really just a bar with quests.
