1 Prologue

'Always be polite and never show your flaws'

These were the words her father imbedded onto her mind. She always feared how her father uttered those words to her with a stern voice that always made her sweat all over, but what she feared the most was the words that comes with disobeying her father.

"Useless" "Disgraceful " and other words that continuously made her heart bleed always came from her fathers mouth. His cold words always degraded her existence with every mistake and every fails she commits.

She worked hard to reach the top of their school's rankings and even joined various competitions where she always got gold from, just to prove something to her father and hopefully make him acknowledge her efforts that was always seen as insufficient by him

But it was not always like that though....

He sometimes showers her with occasional warmth. But those times were when they are in parties and public events. Her father would always show off to his friends and colleagues how he loved her, how admirable of a father he was. And she always loved to imagine that his words were not false, that he really did love her. But everytime they go home from those parties, she was always waken up from her impossible fantasies by her father's distant eyes, that seem to tell her how useless she was, how disgraceful she is to be alive..

She lived in a mansion and her family is one of the most prestigeous families in the city. Her supposed friends has always told her that she was lucky and she must really be happy, with jelousy and hate reflected on their eyes. She never once thought they were right.

How can she be happy yet when she still havent acquired his father's praises and attention?

Time flew by fast and she has already finished college by sacrificing her youth, gotten a job at her father's company by sacrificing her dream to be an actress and married a man her father decided for her by sacrificing her desire for true love. And she was still trying to prove her worth to her father.

She was now 40 and her father was on his death bed staring at her with clear disdain in his eyes. Her tears trickled down her cheeks and her chest felt very heavy but her husband never comforted her as he stared greedily at her father's last will.

His father's Will...It never mentioned her name.

Knowing that her value has already been squeezed dry, her husband divorced her and fired her from her own father's company after her father's funeral. She transferred to a small and poverty stricken apartment using the meagre income she gained from working part-time.

She thought back to her husband and father but she didn't feel hatred or any need for vengeance...She just felt sad. She thought back to the previous years she lived and wondered how life would have been if she didn't spend her entire life trying prove herself to her father and if she lived just like how she wanted.

A sudden burst of light interrupted her thoughts as a huge truck directed itself to the sidewalk she walked at.

She smiled as the light came closer and closer towards her
