As she felt her pain decrease, Beth sharpened her ears, concentrating on what was going on around her. 

"Do you not know, matron, that I value my peace?" She heard Ra'ad ask, the irritation in his voice evident. "Hadn't I given strict instructions to not let any of the harem's servants step inside this place?" 

Beth strained her neck towards the matron. It was a pity that the girl was getting scolded for someone else's mistakes. But at the end of the day, that was what came with high positions, she thought, sighing to herself. The matron's head was lowered in guilt as she nodded.

"You did, general." She replied submissively. 

The god threw his hands up in irritation.

"Then why are these filthy creatures in here?!" He shouted, pointing to the servants covering before him.
