59 It's okay to be a little jealous

Beth limped into the dilapidated shed, wrinkling her nose at the stench of rotting wood. In a matter of one day, she had fallen from top to bottom. But at least she got to keep her sanity as well as her life, she thought, shaking her head. The place looked as if the last occupant had died long ago, with cobwebs and dust spread all over the place. 

There was a little bed to one corner of the room, and the single window that overlooked the garden looked broken. One-sixty-five had helped her clean up and change her dress before reluctantly letting her leave the building. Since Beth didn't want to stay around to hear the wails of the concubine being punished, she had quickly made her way out of the place and followed the matron.
