56 Bullied

As she looked closer, the memory flashed in her mind. Her eyes widened as the realization hit her. 

"You!" Beth exclaimed, pointing a finger at the girl. "You're the one who was sneaking around here the other day!" 

The servant's smile faltered at the accusation. It was enough for Beth to understand that she had hit the right point. If it was true, which it seemed like, then this girl was a servant of one of the concubines of the general. She quickly adjusted the scarf on her head and took a step back, narrowing her eyes at the servants. 

Why had they all come to the general's building as a group? And why were they acting all cocky? She wondered. Who was this concubine that was making trouble for her when all she ever did in this place was eat, clean and sleep? She was about to ask them the question when the servant girl spoke up.
