4 Crushed

It's been a week and Percy never came back. Sophie felt really bad about what she did to him, but she didn't want to hurt her sister. Even though her own heart was in pain, she couldn't betray her twin.

Percy was mad, not with Sophie, but with the people involved with his engagement to Selene. He left Sophie alone for a week but he missed her. He wanted to see her so badly, but he would have to talk to his father first.

"Father, I want Sophie to be my fiance." He said in a firm voice.

His father was in his office when Percy came and suddenly said those words. With a frown on his face, he looked at Percy and saw his son's serious face.

"Who's Sophie?" He asked.

He didn't really know a girl named Sophie. He knew all of his son's friends including the girls who had a crush on him, but there was no Sophie among them.

Percy wasn't sure if his father would agree but it was the first time he asked for something that he wanted. He was hoping that he would let him choose the girl he likes.

"She's the eldest daughter of the Anderson's, the twin sister of Selene. She wasn't chosen because of her eyes." He started telling his father about Sophie.

He told everything to him about her. How they met, how she was neglected and abandoned in a villa by her own family. He was looking at his father's reaction and got disappointed when he saw that he wasn't concerned about it at all.

After he talked, his father straightened, leaning his back to his swivel chair.

"I cannot let you marry that girl. Based on what you said, she wasn't the perfect candidate for you. She was abandoned by her own family for a reason. The Anderson's knew that we won't accept someone with a flaw. You're only thirteen. Instead of visiting other girls, why don't you go to Selene and get to know her."

Percy frowned. He didn't expect that his father would say something like that and he was so disappointed.

"I didn't know that you were like them. I thought you're different." His face went dark and his father was surprised to see him like that.

"I will accept your decision for now. I'm still young and anything could happen, but if Selene became my fiance, I would make her life a living hell." He said in a cold tone.

He turned around and walked out of his father's office. It was the first time he felt so mad towards him. He has decided not to do what they wanted. He would marry Sophie, no matter what it takes.

Sophie was not feeling well when she woke up the next morning. She felt really weak for the past few days and she couldn't even stand up. Her stomach felt like it was being stabbed so she mustered her strength and walked towards the bathroom.

With shaking knees, she slowly walked inside. When she saw herself in the mirror, she was too pale and sweat was running all over her body. What did she eat last night? She thought to herself.

She gasped for air when she felt a sharp gut pain in her stomach. She held onto the sink when her vision suddenly became blurry. She felt so sick and couldn't control it when she barfed.

"Serves you right."

She heard a voice coming from the back. She didn't really need to look at who it was, she already knew it was her twin sister, Selene. Still, she turned around to face her, still feeling so dizzy.

"W-Why are you here, Selene?" She asked in a raspy voice.

Selene smirked and walked towards her. Sophie leaned her back on the sink to support herself from not falling down. But when Selene got closer, she grabbed Sophie by the hair, pulling it hard, making her face tilted up.

"Selene, you're hurting me. What did I do to you?" Sophie asked, trying to stand up straight even though she felt her knees shaking.

Instead of answering her, Selene smirked and gave her a slap on her cheek. She heard a ringing sound in her ear because of the slap she received from her sister.

She wanted to cry but if she did, Selene would continue hurting her.

"Don't ask as if you don't know why I'm here. I never wanted to see your face again if you weren't a bitch trying to seduce Percy!" Selene said in gritted teeth.

Sophie wasn't surprised about it. She knew that one of her servants wasn't loyal to her, or maybe both of them. She was just a nobody after all.

"I-I didn't-"

She was cut off when Selene slapped her again, this time not on her cheek but to her mouth. It was so hard that her lips bled. She could taste her own blood flowing from the cut on her lower lip.

"Don't lie to me. This would be the last time I am warning you! Do not talk to him again or even see him! If you do, I will make sure grandpa will marry you off to some homeless guy! I swear next time, you won't just get a stomachache!" Selene smirked again.

Sophie couldn't believe what she just heard. Did her sister do this to her? Did they put something on her food?

She suddenly felt scared. She didn't expect that Selene could harm her to that extent. She accepted all of her beatings even though she was the older twin. She obeyed everything her family told her. She didn't deserve this.

Her heart was crushed, her dignity had been trampled. She loved her parents and her twin sister. Even though she felt like dying everyday hearing her family call her unlucky, a disgrace, trash, disgusting or a curse, she loved them dearly. But what did she get in return? Nothing.

Sophie closed her eyes when Selene raised her hand again. She waited for another slap but it didn't happen. When she opened her eyes, she saw someone was holding Selene's wrist. And she felt like crying when she saw it was Percy.
