2 Misbehaving

While Emma was having her bath, Mama silver, with grave fear of the unknown in her heart put a call through to Oracle.

[It was what we feared that happened...] She said as soon as Oracle picked his call

[What we feared that happened!?...] Oracle repeated, clueless about what Mama silver was saying. [I don't understand what you mean by that. Please be more elaborate.]

[She's no longer a virgin Oracle! My granddaughter's will was manipulated and her innocence stolen from right under my nose!] Mama silver replied with a sob.[That was the reason why her soul left her body and also the reason why she was frozen...

Tell me a fate worse than death, if not to live a life of pain and misery? How can I live a peaceful life if my granddaughter is forced to live a painful life!? I failed her Oracle! With all my powers, I couldn't protect her enough, I failed her!]

Oracle's heart sank further because of what he just heard from Mama silver. This is another heart-wrenching news he's hearing today, when he was yet to figure out the identity of the girl Aderinsola's grandson had a blood covenant with.

[How did this happen!? Who did this to her!? Oracle asked stiffly! His voice was cold and deadly.

[She said she had no idea! They just met... and she woke up the following morning to realized what happened to her!

[She said that!?... That she had no idea how the incident happened!?] Oracle asked, now sounding alarmed, recalling what Aderinsola told him about his grandson.

His fear had just been realized. Somebody was indeed targeting all of them. He was sure if he had kids of his own it would have been the same sad story.

He sighed heavily and said with regret. [Silver I think somebody is targeting us through these kids!]

[Somebody is targeting us through which kids!? I don't understand what you're saying?] Mama silver asked back, immediately cleaning the tears off her face.

[Almost the same thing that happened to your granddaughter also happened to Aderinsola's grandson! He called me about his grandson minutes before you called about your granddaughter...

He said his grandson unknowingly had a blood covenant with a strange girl and couldn't remember how it all went down!

[Eh!... Blood covenant!?] Mama silver exclaimed in shock. She knew blood covenant is not something to trifle with. It means seven days death ultimatum if either party did not follow through with promises made to each other.

[Were you able to discover who the girl is!?]

[I tried but couldn't find anything in such a short period. The power protecting the girl is ancient! I'll need a whole day and night in solitude to be able to know her identity and those backing her. By the time we meet on Monday, I would know where the attack is coming from.]

[But why would somebody do these to us!? We've never been involved in anything evil and we've always been fair in all our dealings with people, so why!?] If even Oracle couldn't easily find this person's identity then she should now be worried about her family members.

[Evil people don't need a reason to be evil. The fact that you're smiling is enough reason to give them a headache and prompt them to do you bad.]

[These poor kids suffering for what they know nothing about... What are we going to do about them?... What is the next step for us to take to put an end to these!?]

[We have to first look for the people involved with the kids... That boy your granddaughter was involved with... He will have to be her husband...] Oracle said reluctantly.

[No!... I will not accept that fate for her, Oracle!] Mama silver vehemently refused, shaking her head from side to side. [There must be another way. Please look for another way...]

[Silver you...]

[No!...] Mama silver refused, cutting Oracle off mid-sentence.

[How can you tell me to give her hand to somebody that manipulated her will!? It's almost like he forced himself on her!... No different from ****...

Please there must be another solution to this Oracle!] Mama silver begged in desperation. She can't imagine her granddaughter getting married to a man that nearly took her life.

Oracle sighed dejectedly. [I'm surprised that you, an initiated priest is speaking like an ordinary person.

Have you forgotten when we summoned her Eleda? (guardian spirit)... What did he tell us?... I'll remind you, in case you've forgotten...

Her Eleda said there can only be one man for her... No two ways about it. Her first man must be her one and only man.

She has gone against her Eleda's wish by having sex before marriage and without the right ritual being done for her and the man... And because of this, she's already started seeing the repercussions when she died for almost thirty minutes and nearly froze to death just hours after...

What do you think would happen if we now totally go against her Eleda's wish again!?...] Oracle asked and paused, expecting to get an answer but none came forth before he continued with what he was saying.

[Everything will be okay my friend.] Oracle consoled Mama silver. [The enemies can indeed delay kadara (predestination) through the use of sorcery, however, ultimately what is destined to be will surely be... Let's make the most of this as there is always light at the end of the tunnel]

[Hmmm... Mama silver said and sighed deeply. How will I locate him then?]

[Get me the cloth she wore when they were together and leave the rest to me... Oh, and you'll need to keep a close watch on her right now till you can make a calming herb tea for her.]

[Why would she need a calming tea?]

[Fire is a dangerous element to master. Now that her element has been activated, her personality will be unpredictable because of the consequences of what she did. Right now, loss of control is exceedingly likely, and you know that if a human who carries fire elements losses control, the results are usually catastrophic.

Emma was alone with the doctor inside his office and she was beginning to get annoyed by his constant questions that she thought were unnecessary, even when she knew it was the protocol for doctors to ask such questions when you go to get PEP.

'Can't he understand that I don't want to talk about it... Or is he gathering enough information to feed my father with?' Emma thought as she angrily stood up from where she was sitting without warning, hissed and barged out of the doctor's office.

"Miss Da-Silva! Miss Da-Silva... Dr. Dave Arinze called after Emma as she walked out of his office.

Mama silver who was chatting with a nurse at the doctor's outer office looked at her granddaughter's furious face and immediately knew what Oracle said is coming true. Emma is losing control of herself.

"Ayinke what is the problem?"

"Grandma please let's get out of here jor..."

"Why?... Are you through? Have you gotten the drugs? Mama silver asked, looking from the handsome doctor's dimpled smile to Emma's angry face.

"No grandma, I'll go get it else where... I understand that doctors are annoyingly curious for a living but this particular one takes the cake. The guy is simply an asshole..."

"Watch your mouth young lady, otherwise I might be forced to wash it out for you right now with soap and water" Mama silver snapped.

"Sorry grams... But seriously he's a douche bag!.."

"Ayinke! Mama silver said shockingly, grabbed the magazine lying on the nurse station and hit Emma on the arm with it."

Thank God that patients were asked to wait outside the doctor's outer office itself. Save for the nurse who was trying her damnedest to pretend as if she didn't hear their conversation, the place was deserted.
