In my office

Inspection?

Everyone was suddenly on their toes, and chairs started creaking as people shifted nervously.

Sharon Toll also looked nervous, "Doesn't the inspection happen…"

Daniel Owens turned to her and gestured for her to keep quiet. Sharon quickly shut up after that. She ran to her desk and brought over some files, "Sir, this is the half-month report and some of the necessary documents on what has been going on around here…"

Alexander was initially here because he wanted to see Cindy, but he could not let that show, so Sharon's documents were a good cover-up. He quickly took them, "Show me to your office, Manager Sharon."

Sharon was sweating profusely as she walked slowly to show Alexander the office.

Sharon's office was strategically placed, and from where Alexander was sitting, it was easy to see the whole office and also that person who had made him irrational.

Alexander pretended to read through the documents, but once in a while, his gaze would shift to that person sitting in the corner. She was looking okay, but Alexander knew her very well, and he also knew that although Cindy looked okay, there was something wrong based on how her lips scowled.

He had seen her a lot as she was growing up, and he knew all her tics. When she was worried, her eyes would drop, and her face would become very sad. When she was happy, the dimples at the corner of her mouth showed, and when she was disappointed or angry, she would scowl and bite her lips like she was doing now.

What had made her angry? Alexander wondered.

He looked around her, but he could not spot the flowers he had given her, and then just like in the movies, he saw another man pulling his chair close to hers, and when Alexander looked closely, that man had red roses on his lap!

Alexander became so angry that he kicked the trash can unknowingly!

Sharon and the others looked surprised, and the office came to a standstill.

There was an air of oppression coming from Alexander, and the temperatures lowered significantly.

Daniel was surprised by the sudden change, and he also turned around to look at Cindy because she was the one who would make the boss act like this!

When he looked, he also froze.

What was madam doing, and who is that man sitting next to her?

Sharon was oblivious to all this, so she inquired nervously, "Sir, is there…anything wrong with the documents?"

Alexander's face did not look too good. He turned around, "You call this a report, Manager Sharon?"

His voice was cold, and everyone immediately stood upright. Sharon was shaking slightly as she watched Alexander get up.

Alexander walked through the stalls and checked each and every employee without blinking. There was something sharp stabbing his heart, but he just couldn't help but get up and walk to where Cindy was, but he still also needed to pretend that he was inspecting.

He was aware of the employee's nervousness, but he still needed to find out what that man and his wife were talking about!

Cindy, on the other hand, was so busy that she did not notice the boss had actually come in!

Benjamin was keeping her entertained with stories, and she quickly got lost in his quirky stories and forgot reality.

It was nice to not think about Alexander even for a moment, and she knew Benjamin was also doing this on purpose.

Benjamin was in the middle of his fabrication, "You know, I am an excellent actor, but I also had an embarrassment on set one day!"

Cindy laughed, "No way! You?"

Benjamin nodded and placed a hand over his heart, "Of course! I will tell you, but please don't tell anyone as it will damage my reputation!"

Cindy crossed her heart too, "Not a single soul will hear any of this!"

Benjamin laughed, "Okay then. When I was just starting out as an actor, I was not very good at it, but my looks saved me a lot. I could not even read my lines properly, so one day while I was filming, the female lead suddenly said, 'There is a whale in my room!' It was part of the script, but I could not really understand then, so I quickly ran to her room to go look! Imagine the face of the people who were on set! I could not even lift my head up for a while…"

Cindy listened, and when Benjamin was done, she broke out in a fit of giggles. She wanted to laugh loudly, but they were in the office, and it would put all the attention on her.

Benjamin saw her laughing and broke out in a laugh too. He looked at her, "You see…you look better when you smile, so smile more from now on!"

Cindy nodded in a fit of hiccups, "Haha, when I remember that story of yours, I will automatically laugh!"

Benjamin's gaze was very warm, and it made Cindy a bit uncomfortable, so she looked away, only to see the very person she did not want to see!

Alexander!

He was standing next to her booth, and she had not seen him coming at all!

Alexander's expression did not look so good. Cindy followed his gaze, and she saw that he was looking at the flowers on Benjamin's lap. Cindy's mind started to race, and she quickly realized the problem.

The flowers Alexander had sent to her were in another man's arms!

No matter how much you looked at it and how Benjamin was protecting those flowers like they were the most precious thing in his life, it looked as if Cindy had gifted them to him!

That thought alone almost made Alexander jump up in madness.

Cindy felt a pang of guilt, but when she looked away and saw Joanna sniffing her own red roses, her guilt went away, and she turned to Alexander, "CEO Alexander, I did not see you there. I am sorry for any inconvenience."

Alexander did not speak, while Benjamin turned around to face Alexander. There was a small smile on his face as he greeted, "CEO Alexander, it is so nice to finally meet you!"

Alexander ignored him and turned to Cindy, "In my office! Now!"
