She waited and waited.

He stood her up again.

She tried to act like she was okay as she stumbled out of the restaurant, but as soon as she boarded a taxi back to her apartment, she let the tears roll freely down her delicate cheeks.

She got home and crashed on her sofa, trying to replay the day she finally accepted to date him. They met by accident during their first year and coincidentally met again during the second semester of her third year. Since that day, he didn't let her rest.

Ayra Lanchester is from a very reserved family of five, and she does web designing. She's the second daughter of three and the last child.

She didn't expect to be liked by anyone all through her time in high school and college, so she was always by herself in her nerdy clothes and glasses that she absolutely didn't need. Ayra is a married woman now, with wifely duties and responsibilities. She was happy in her marriage, and it was blissful. Her parents and elder sister visited from time to time to make her home lively.

She knew her husband loved her, she could feel it, even though she just believed that he didn't have her time because he was working overtime and work was tough.

She was the perfect housewife so all she had to do was cook, clean and satisfy him, but then again, she missed the sex. It wasn't as often as it used to be, and she definitely began to miss her husband.

His birthday was around the corner, and she had lots of ideas to surprise him. The thought of it alone made her smile to herself and blush anytime she was alone.

She decided to rekindle their sex life, or at least, she just wanted to have a deliberate sex that she initiated.

She missed him too much and she expected that he would at least be free from work on his birthday.

Her husband wasn't poor, but she decided to use her own money she got working as a web designer to treat herself to a few things.

"He's waiting for you already and has booked a hotel room, here's the card he asked me to give to you. I don't know why you're back here for the other one but have it."

"I can't believe Alex surprised me too. How thoughtful could he get? Even with all the work? I can't believe he had the same idea in mind to spice up our marriage and even book a hotel room. Ugh, I can't wait to see him."

Sbe thought to herself, smiling graciously as she drove into the hotel in her Cadillac CT4. It was a wedding gift from Alex's parents and she was more than grateful.

She parked the car, picked up the cake and watch, and headed straight to the room number on the card with a wide grin on her face.

Fuck the cake, fuck everything else, she was going to jump on him as soon as she saw him.

She finally located the door and just before she could get it open, she began to hear moans and screams coming from the inside.

She got confused.

"Hmm. Have I come to the wrong room?"

She thought to herself.

With that, she checked the card to confirm, but it was the exact room. Frowning as she hated to interrupt or eavesdrop on people having a nice time, she decided to meet the receptionist to confirm the room number.

Just before turning to leave, she heard her husband's voice. He was telling the female to take it easy on him, and the grunting coming out of him sounded like he was badly in need.

She thought she didn't hear it right, so she put her ears to the door. There it came again, even louder. This time around, the woman was screaming his name, begging him to never let go.

Stunned, she opened the door as quickly as possible and ran in to see nothing but horror and double shock.

Her husband was cheating on her, with her elder sister! She met them in an unruly heap in their own sweat, basking in their heat as they continued on.

She dropped the cake, and it was only when it hit the floor that they abruptly stopped, alarmed before turning to see her.

She crashed her knees as they also hit the floor, where she closed her eyes dejectedly, begging the tears not to fall.

She thought to herself; Maybe it's just a dream. If I wake up, it will all be over.

But it wasn't. Opening her eyes to see the same scene again, she stood up and ran out. She didn't fail to miss the look of disdain on her sister's face and the look of indifference on her husband's.

The promise to cry herself into unconsciousness lingered in her mind.
