Veronica's POV

“ Veronica hurry up for Christ's sake! ” Daniel yells out from his car.

I can hear his car door slam shut, meaning he's coming to hurry me up.

Yeah yeah, I get it. I'm late for the party. He doesn't have to be a baby about it. Has he ever heard of being fashionably late?

But I don't give him a chance, instead I step out into the starry night in diamond studded, black, laced heels leaving my ever empty house behind save for Lilly. As usual Dad is on shift at the hospital or on a trip. These days I never truly know which it is.

Daniel comes to a halt, almost running into me. The reaction I'm hoping for only stays on his face for a second and for that second the intensity almost brings me to my knees. Then he looks at me with anger in his face, if that tick in his jaw is any indication, that most definitely is anger. But why would he be angry?
