8 Chapter 7 - Where the mind lingers

Kang Lei rushed out of his final seminar as soon as he heard the professor say, "that will be it for today, remember to review chapter 12 on food hygiene and best practices when working in a kitchen environment".

It was now 3:30 in the afternoon and Kang Lei had to collect BoJing from school by 4:15, normally he wasn't in such a rush but considering how the day had started unfavourable, Kang Lei has always been a believer that once a day starts off crap it tends to end that way.

He rushed down yet again the staircase of Mozing Culinary Imperial University, in hopes of catching the early bus to BoJing school.

Kang Lei was only able to fund the cost of his university through the means of a scholarship he had attained year after year by diligently spending most of his waking hours studying, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to go to such a prestigious and well recognized university, the first few years was more difficult as BoJing wasn't yet in full time education, but he somehow managed with the help of the school director and his kind neighbour.

If it wasn't for the various government organizations and charities that had supported him throughout the worst periods of his life, a young unclaimed omega with a child in Beijing would surly perish, however not all those organizations were of a virtuous standing.

His years at the children's orphanage was by far the worst of his memories, which he has driven to the deepest parts of his mind, hoping to never open that Pandora's box of shear horrors. Hence, Kang Lei's devotion to ensure he becomes successful and give BoJing all he had never had, based on such experiences. He was determined to never let BoJing experience things no child should ever have to experience.

Kang lei got to the station just in time, even managing to catch the early bus and gabbing a seat behind two people who appear to be a couple.

After allowing to mind to relax he began to wonder about various things, as he looked out the window with the midday sun beating against it glass. For the first time in a long time he smiled at the clear blue almost cloudless sky. The streets were busy with people, all going about their everyday lives, the atmosphere livily and filled with smell of love as couples held each others hand and smiled sweetly. Being an omega of-course, he at one point longed for a mate, that special someone to hold him when those nights filled with nightmares want to take over his dreams forcing Pandora's box to open. However, someone like him couldn't have such hopes, someone like him who was defiled and un-pure was not worthy of such desires and he had accepted that, "Some of us aren't meant for love".

The horrors of his past have left a lasting effect on Kang Lei, especially when it comes to that man. He had conflicted feelings, sometimes he wanted to thank him but more times than none, whenever the thought of him, all he feels is anger and disgust at the retching thought of his once touch. Kang Lie wishes he could drive a knife through his heart and watch him die a slow death. But no matter how much he wanted him to vanish from his thoughts never to occupy a single space in his mind, whenever he sees BoJing he knows some people and memories will never be forgotten, as BoJing will forever be a walking talking reminder of those nights of hell he had to endure.
