Kang Lei entered the room along with four other candidates and proceeded to sit down on the chairs available.

Seated ahead of him was the interview panellist, three males and one female all betas, they all looked professional and extremely unfriendly, immediately Kang Lei eyes caught the attention of the female interviewer, who gave him an off look then leaned to whisper to her male colleague, who turned his focus to Kang Lei, before looking at a price of paper placed on the desk.

Not long after the interview had begun with all persons introduced themselves until it was kang Lei's turn.

"Good after all, my name is Kang Lei, second gender omega, 23 years old, I study at Mozing Culinary imperial university, and I am a third year senior" Kang Lei said slightly trembling.

The other candidates to his side carried Smudged looks plastered on their faces, directed at him.

With the introductions complete, it was time for the interview to begin. With the first question aimed directly at Kang Lei.

"Kang Lei, so you're an omega, are you aware that Mr. Lanxian is a dominant alpha, how are we to ensure that you will not be a risk if you were to work here? Not only Mr. Lanxian but we also have other staff who maybe affected by your.... hmm heat" the male panellists asked, clearly throwing gabs at Kang Lei.

Kang Lei was taken aback puzzled at the question, isn't the role for an assistant chef, why would he need to interact with Mr Lanxian, when the food is cooked don't the maids take the food to the master, so why would he be a risk... kang Lei stuttered he didn't prepare for such a question.

"Ahem, well I was under the impression I wouldn't be in any contact with Mr Lanxian, considering my role would be in the kitchen, and in regard to my heat, I have successfully functioned my whole adult life and managed to keep my heat under control" kang Lei was quite annoyed he wasn't being asked about what he could do but about his standing as an omega, he felt deflated inside.

"If that's your thinking it's quite naive, everyone knowns Mr Lanxian often inspects his employees. Are you to say you had no idea, or are you here for other intentions, I see here you put you have a child, but I don't see you wearing a wedding band and your scent says that you're not claimed, are you expecting us to believe you're here without ill-intentions, maybe you're trying to worm your way into Mr Lanxian bed, so you could escape your life"?

Scorned the female panellist, in her eyes you could see disgust and judgement. Kang Lei sat frozen, what was happening, his he at the right place? Why was he being insulted like this, what did he do?

Kang Lei tried to refute and defend himself, but he knew better, as no good would come from it.

"Seems like I need to update my brother on the behaviours of his employees, what do you think, Miss lee" a male voiced suddenly echoed across the room, startling everyone.

The panellists quickly arose from their seats, bowed their heads and said "greeting Mr Lanxian".

A handsome omega male, of great beauty, walked towards them. He gave a vicious glance to the panellist, before taking his seat.

"Good afternoon all, my name is Andrew Lanxian, brother of Dominic Lanxian, and before I continue, your name Sir" Andrew turned his attention to Kang Lei.

Kang quickly stood up, bowed his head and spook, a little dejected,

"Sir, my name is Kang Lei"

"Thank you, Miss Lee, we're waiting" he said with an evil glare and smirk, sending the whole silent.

"Yes... yes... My apologies, Mr Lei... I... I. It was inappropriate" she said, shaking and looking down.

"Miss Lee, do I need to reeducate you of this world. We are all not equal, we all walk a different path, but we are all human. And with that we must be respectful from the highest man to the lowest, we are not greater than the other, we were merely given different opportunities. With that said please do enjoy your conversation with my brother" Andrew said firmly, Miss Lee was Visibly shaken and scared.

The room was dead silent, all the panellist knew they were going to come under scrutiny very soon and most likely be dismissed from their roles. The atmosphere was tense. They continued otherwise, knowing their pending futures, and reverted to asking actual professional questions.

After diligently pulling himself together and answering all the questions, kang Lei relaxed, thinking his chances were over.

When everyone thought the interview was over, Andrew Lanxian spoke after siting quietly observing the room with a cold, yet beautiful face.

"Kang Lei, why are you not marked"

Everyone was stunned, huh, didn't Miss Lee get in trouble for that.

Kang Lei, just stared at him, unable to utter words, till Andrew broke the silence and asked another question.

"Was your son a willing act"

Everyone looked at Kang Lei, what did Andrew mean by, 'willing act'.

Tears begun to flow from Kang Lei beautiful eyes, why were they doing this to him, just why.

Without getting an answer, Andrew walked up to Kang Lei, stood before him and said quite gently,

"Congratulations Mr Lei, you're hired"

The room grasped, what did Mr Lanxian just say, Kang Lei was beyond shocked what is happening he was frozen, unable to process this moment.

"I have seen what I needed to see today, please send the remaining candidates home" Andrew turned his body at angel as such to address the whole room, and he was firm in his command, you would be surprised this beautiful omega who looked soft and gently carried such an aura.

He again turned to Kang Lei and addressed him.

"Mr Lei, well done, I will discuss this matter with my brother Dominic, your boss. However, all new employees are required to have a face to face meeting with him before they undertake their roles.

He's away at the moment, but I will have our HR team organize a meeting, once he's returned from his business trip.

Rest assured he maybe one hundred times worst that me haha! But he'll never overrule my decision. And on behalf of the Lanxian family, I apologize for the behaviour of our employees." Andrew said sincerely while placing a hand on his shoulder.

Before Kang Lei knew what he was doing, he had hugged Andrew tightly thanking him from the bottom of his heart, for some unknown reason Kang Lei felt safe around him.

To everyone's surprise Andrew returned the hug, it's well-known within the mansion and by everyone, Andrew didn't like others touching him, unless it was Michael or his family. So how was he so comfortable with this low class Omega. Today was too shocking, there's no way what was happening was real, no way!
