14 Fake Engagement (Part2)

" What do you do mean by that !" June asked midway Adam's euphoria.

Adam reached to the pocket of his pyjamas and took out a box covered in sparkly white diamonds . He was still on top of her as he held the box in her face.

" This would make the best bedtime moment !" Adam said .

" Woooooow! it's so sparkly, what's the box for? " June asked as she tried to take the box from Adam but he withdrew his hand.

" Or you could ask , What's in the box ?" Adam smiled from the side of his cheek .

" Since you don't want to make me understand your point of view , I think you should get off me , you have stayed over me for as long as I can remember ." June tried to move him away from her but he didn't budge .

" You are so cute anytime you try to act strong, I just feel like kissing you ! " Adam holds her chin. June immediately placed her hands on her mouth.

" Don't you dare ! ".

" If you can just stay at a place without hitting or struggling to get away from me , I wouldn't not have thought of kissing you... I am still a man, fresh blood runs through my veins so don't try to seduce me into doing things to you! " Adam stared lustfully at her body.

" Don't tell me , Adam, that you are moved by my body . I thought I was just some kid ... how could a body as slender as mine seduce you ! " Adam gulped.

Her every words hurt his ego. Adam tried to endure her words , even his ex-wife doesn't reply him in such manner.

" She seems to be full of wit, Does anything ever scare you, June? " Adam thought to himself.

" You know , Adam , You are not even that handsome that I'll want to seduce you , so stop thinking highly of yourself ! " June mumbled.

" Enough! You have said enough !" Adam parted her hands and held them tightly on the bed. June was startled. It dawned on her that she was taking it too far, she knew that she had provoked him.

Adam opened the diamond box and took out a silver ring . June gasped , her mouth , hung open as she was lost in it's beauty. Adam took her left hand and pushed the ring through her finger.

"Am I supposed to wear this?" June asked .June tried to pretend as though she wasn't impressed with the ring. She wanted to scream at the top of her voice , just then she remembered that it was not real, it was according to the contract with Adam.

" Don't you ever take it off !" Adam ordered.

" This is just a lie, my life is just a lie! I wonder if this will ever happen to me in reality !" June said to herself as she stared at the ring , sadly.

Adam moved himself over from her. She was now free to go away from him like she wanted to .

" You wanted to stay away from me right , I am no longer in your way, you can go now !" Adam refused to look at her .

June got out of his bed and headed to the sitting room. She layed on the armchair , her left raised above her face as she toyed with the ring that was placed in her finger. Tears trickled down her eyes.

" This was the first time someone placed a ring in my finger, I never imagined it'll be a part of a contract... I thought it will be from someone who loved me . He just can't see how all his actions toys with my feelings ! " June shut her eyes, more tears rolling down her eyes.

Later that night ...

9:30pm

Adam turned side to side on his bed.

" You are not that handsome that'll seduce you!!!" June's words kept playing over and over again in his head. He kicks off the quilt and sits on the bed.

" Even in my sleep, she disturbs me!" Adam walks to the bathroom. He stares at his image in the mirror as he rinses his face.

" Who says am not handsome ? Does she think that she's beautiful , she's obviously not my type of women, she's not even that attractive that a guy as handsome as I would want to give in to her.

" Adam bragged as he dries his face with a towel. He tried putting himself to sleep but it instead he kept turning side to side.

" I can't even sleep, she makes me restless ! A glass of water will cool my nerves." Adam frustrated by lack of sleep left his room to the kitchen.

He opened the fridge and took a bottle of water and gulped every fluid . After drinking to his content, he made to his room the sitting room where he noticed June sleeping peacefully on the armchair. He stood for a moment and stroke his chin.

" You can even sleep peacefully while making me restless! What sort of female are you? You drive me crazy."

Adam moved closer to June and sat beside her , as he put back the lock of hair that covered her face.

" She looks beautiful and innocent, the opposite of her when she's not awake, pulling my tail !" She looked so innocent .

Adam watched her for a while , her pale pink lips locked together . Her night dress exposed a part of her cleavage. Adam leaned towards her, tracing his finger over her lips .

He leaned closer to her , brushing his lips on hers. He stood up , slapping himself .

" Control yourself Adam! Be a man ...." He whispered to himself as he stared back at June.

The slight movement of her legs made him numb. His heart began to pound faster, his face turned red .

" What's wrong with me? How could she make me this way?" He held his chest as he paced around.

He took a deep breath and moved closer to June, lifting her in his arms. Adam carried June to his room and placed her at the extreme of the bed and covered her with a quilt.
