Difficult

Lin Ye froze. An unknown warmth seemed to stem from the depths of her heart that she could not explain. Chen Xi's hold on her tightened and his voice continued to send ripples inside of her.

His voice in her ears felt familiar. It gave her the feeling of wanting to hear him speak more. But her memories seemed to have no recollection of him.

When he came, he had told her that he was not from this universe and that she was his wife, did that mean that she was also not from this universe?

She put these thoughts away but they needed investigation. She reminded herself to do so after the surgery.

Lin Ye pulled herself from Chen Xi awkwardly, "I have a surgery in a few, it will take a bit longer so you can just leave when you are done."

Chen Xi's gae did not leave her, "Will it be difficult?"

Lin Ye looked up. "What?"

Chen Xi moved to massage her temples. His fingers were cold to the touch, Lin Ye moved away.

Chen Xi spoke in a low voice, "The surgery, is it difficult?"

Lin Ye loosened up, "It is."

She did not explain too much due to hospital policies. Chen Xi nodded and then said, "Don't worry, you will be just fine."

Lin Ye froze.

Was Chen Xi cheering her up?

No one had ever cheered her up when she did something. Her parents were always too busy and Han Shuoxi never cared at all about whatever work she was doing so Chen Xi's words spread warmth inside of her.

For some reason Lin Ye felt as if Chen Xi was different today. He was playful around her all the times they had met be it in manner or speech but today he was a bit serious.

His dressing today gave him a bit of a difference that Lin Ye could not put his finger into.

She did not have time to ponder on that because the head nurse was calling her, everything was ready.

She looked at Chen Xi and said, "I have to go."

Chen Xi nodded, "You should put on your shoes then."

This is when Lin Ye realized that she did not have one shoe. She watched in horror as Chen Xi bent down and put on the shoe for her.

She blushed deeply and looked away! This was so cinderella like!

Once Chen Xi was done, Lin Ye sped out of the room!

Chen Xi watched her leave and chuckled but his gaze became serious again. His hands made way into his pocket and pulled something out of his pocket, it was a golden ring.

He looked at the round thing in his palms. In the inner side of the ring were the initials, HC, which stood for their original names.

Her name in the other universe was Hua which meant flowers. The 'HC' was Hua Chen.

Back then, she was the one who had picked the rings when they got married and also the one who had the initials of their names engraved on the rings

He did not know if she had her own ring but he hoped she did. He put the ring back in his pocket his gaze unreadable.

What he did not tell her was he had met with two people before. One was Han Shuoxi and the other was Wen Shao Feng.

Han Shuoxi as he came to realize was actually her ex boyfriend. The man was pretty but what came out of his mouth was pure filth. Wen Shao Feng on the other hand was Lin Ye's best friend. She was easygoing and in the short time they had met, she had already told him everything about Lin Ye.

The more Chen Xi listened, the more his heart clenched.

This short time she had suffered so much!

Wen Shao Feng had said that Lin Ye was the only child of the former Lin group's president Lin Qiao but not much information was known about her.

It was said that as soon as she was born, no one had ever seen the child and that included the Lin family members. They were only introduced to her when she turned eighteen.

Back then Lin Qiao had told everyone that his child was born sick and needed to be treated abroad but Chen Xi found this suspicious.

Lin Ye was clearly Hua so where was Lin Qiao's daughter?
