1 Prologue: Her Death
Longwei heard the sound of pained shrieks from the house. He broke into the courtyard and saw Meihui being beaten by Huang, his best friend and her husband.
"You bastard!" Longwei stabbed Huang in the gut and had the guards take him to the dungeons to be executed later.
He went to Meihui's side. She was covered in bruises and cuts from the whips.
Longwei hugged her fragile body, "Meihui..I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.."
Her calming melodic voice whispered,"It's not your fault, Longwei-gege."
"It is...You could've been my wife if I was honest three years ago and told you I love you. Instead I gave you to that bastard of a friend.."
Meihui sobbed, "I loved him, but then he changed and started bringing women over and making love with them. Yet upon my oath, I still loved him. I'm pathetic, right? Even though such a wonderful man confesses his love for me. You're the future king, you should love someone else."
Longwei shook his head, "My love is only for you. In our next life, let's be together. Let the red string of fate tie us together. I love you, my Meihui."
She caressed his face, "If you're happy with someone as pathetic as me."
Her hand went cold. Her life was sucked away. Longwei cradled her hand that was on his face and cried.
...
"Huang, as ordered from Crown Prince Longwei for raping many women and abusing your wife. You will be sentenced to 500 whippings until death after having you dick cut off in front of your family." Jian, the general of the royal army said.
Huang pleaded, "No!! Give me death! Anything but that! Longwei...Jian..I'm your best friend! What's so special about that bitch? Don't do this!"
The room temperature dropped. Everyone trembled and looked at Crown Prince Longwei.
Jian roared, "How dare you call the majesty by his name?! Your punishment suits your crime!"
Longwei glared coldy, "Women are not to be treated lower than dogs. You do not deserve an easy death to repent your crimes. Take him away."

"Longwei-gege, are you sure you want me to be king?" Liwei sighed.
Jian said, "Longwei, I trust your words, but are you really going forward with this decision?"
He nodded, "Yes, I wish to resign from my title as the crown prince and give it to my younger brother, Liwei. I will be apart of the royal army. I don't want to marry another woman, my heart solely belongs to one girl and that's Chen Meihui."

2 years later
"Jian! Watch out!" Longwei jumped behind Jian as a man tried stabbing him in the heart.
He took Jian's place and was the one stabbed.
"Longwei!" Jian killed the man, "Stay with me."
Longwei closed his eyes, 'Death. I will finally be with my Meihui.'
