Chapter 2: "A what System!?"

I panicked and started to move around as heavily as humanly possible. "Hey! What the fuck! What is going on?" I screamed through the room. The echo was so loud that it hurts.

"Please relax human. Let the Decider overcome you." Said the voice.

"Overcome me? What should that mean?" I still tried to resist, but my stamina wasn't the best so I quickly was out of breath and just stopped. But as soon as I did so, something rammed inside the back of my head. The pain was only brief but so painful that I screamed louder than ever before.

As I said, the pain was maybe there for a few seconds, but the shock was there way longer. So I just kept screaming.

Once I finally cooled down at least a bit and took a few deep breaths the Voice started to talk again. "Connecting... 20%"

I could feel the sweat running down my face. For some reason, I wasn't thinking about just jumping away and was thinking about just using my resurrection.

"Connecting... 40%"

I wasn't even paying attention anymore. For me, my breath was almost louder than the robotic Voice.

"Connecting... 60% ... Connecting... 80% ... Connection completed. Boot personalized System on User Brain: Adam Mace. Disconnecting external boot." The straps snapped away from my body and whatever was in the back of my head got removed again. My complete body had no tension whatsoever and I just fell down the chair.

>What the hell was that.< Was the only thing I could think of at that moment. And after a few failed attempts of standing up, I was finally back on two feet again, still feeling very dizzy. "What did just happen?"

"You just got your personalized System installed in your brain." Said the robotic voice.

I was startled once again, after hoping that this torture finally ended, before I noticed something... >No echo?< I thought to myself. >But we are still in the same room... Could it be...?<

"Yes, Adam. I am inside your brain. A System that is booted up on your brain."

"You can read my mind?!" I shouted with my voice full of fright.

"Yes, Adam. I am fully integrated into your mind. You don't need to talk out loud if you want to speak to me. Just think."

"Wait What? What are you talking about? And who are you?" I asked, still not understanding half of the things currently happening around and... in me?

"As I can read your mind, there is no need to talk out loud to me, just think what you want me to ask, or when you want to speak to me. And I am your personalized System inside your mind. I don't have a name yet. Would you like to name me?"

"I really have better things to do than naming you." I said, still ignoring the fact that I could just think and a bit baffled that this was the one thing this 'System' could think of.

*Bing* I head a sound that reminded me of a phone notification. "Reminder: You can talk to me with thinking. It may be weird to talk to me around other people so keep that in mind."

>Geez, she's persistant< I thought to myself, waiting for a response that wouldn't come. >Hello?< I asked again, wondering if she just didn't hear me for some odd reason.

"Hello, Adam. Even though I can be put in 'Conversation-Mode' I am currently just on 'Question-Mode'. Do you want to put me in Conversation-Mode?"

I was just about to answer with a yes without thinking about it before I realized that that would probably mean an even more annoying robot. >I probably should get used to the voice in my head first before I start that mode.<

"Okay. I will stay in Question-Mode."

For a few seconds, I was just staring at the walls. Thinking nothing. I didn't even know what to think. >What now?< I finally thought. Already expecting an answer from my System.

"You can access your System Interface by dragging your index and middle finger over your forearm." She answered.

That wasn't the kind of answer I was hoping for, but an interesting one nonetheless. So I did just that. I dragged my index and middle finger slowly but surely over part of my forearm and... Suddenly there was a small window in a part of my sight.

The window was blue and semi-translucent. It felt so unreal. Like an Interface in a VR-Game. A very good VR-Game. And before I could even comprehend what was happening to me, the System started to talk again.

"This is your System Interface. Click on System to get insight on your System Details. Click on Friendslist to look at your friends and add other people with Systems. Click on Options to get several configuration options for your System."

"Wow." I said out loud. I finally noticed what I got in my hand. >I really have a fucking System!?"< I didn't feel this happy in a long time and felt like jumping. But I didn't want to embarrass myself, even though the only 'person' that was with me was my System. >Finally I got lucky with a dimension!<

I impatiently pressed on System as fast as I could to see what kind of benefits I got now.

"..." I didn't know what to say. "A what System!?"
