6 Obedient

He reached her, and tapped her shoulders, "Hey, have you been sitting there all the time when I was gone?"

She looked up and then at his hand on her shoulders and blinked. He felt awkward and instantly retracted his hand. She blinked again and looked at his face.

"Were you sitting here for the whole seven hours?" Alex asked again, not able to stop his curiosity.

This time she gazed in his eyes and blinked and then nodded her head.

"Why?" He couldn't help but ask. How can a person sit at the same place for seven hours? Without even moving an inch!

She tilted her head and blinked then again gazed in his eyes, he took a step back to create some distance when she said. "Didn't you say so?"

"Woah girl, are you always this obedient?" He asked laughing. He wasn't this obedient even when he was just 2 years old. Neither was his sister who was usually one of the most obedient children of the school.

She blinked and nodded. When she saw him moving she gazed at him hard. Like she wanted to come with him but didn't know if she could move now or not.

When he took two steps but didn't find her with him, he turned to look at her and noticed she was still there, as if a robot was waiting for the next instructions.

He chuckled at the thought and asked: "come we have to go, I am hungry."

She blinked and then nodded. And then she started following him.

"So what is your name?" He asked to start the conversation and then he would ask about her family and see if he could do anything to help her. She couldn't stay in the park.

She stopped and gazed at him. She blinked her eyes "name" she repeated and fell into deep thinking.

"Is it a difficult question?" He asked, amused, looking at her furrowed brows.

She blinked and shook her head then she counted in her hands and said "No. 15"

He was moving with a stifled laugh, paused and asked "what did you say?"

The girl looked and blinked; she gazed at his eyes and replied. "No. 15, my name is no. 15."

"Do you know what a name is?" He asked bewildered at her reply.

The only reason for her strange reply he deduced was she didn't even know what a name was? After all who name their daughter as no. 15! Was she that sick? Should he admit her to the hospital? Then his eyes widened at the thought of her running from any mental asylum. 'Am I taking a mad girl to my home?'

He stopped in his tracks at the thought. But he didn't order her to stop so she moved and bumped into him.

"Awww, are you made up of steel?" He asked, rubbing his back. It felt like he bumped into a pole rather than a sweet petite girl.

"No, maybe lava and rocks I think" she replied again blinking her eyes.

He just shook his head. It was useless to ask her anything and it was late to go and ask mental asylums. He was tired and hungry. His whole body was sore. And he just wanted to go home and lay down on the bed.

Just the thought of his bed was making his legs sore. Continuously standing for hours was not even tiring but also terrible for his back and feet.

And this girl had also exhausted him mentally. "I can't call you no.15. It's just very odd. How about we choose a name for you in the meantime?"

He asked the girl who was following him again the way she followed him reminded him of the puppy they had during childhood. How the small puppy always followed them when they played. His expressions soften at the thought.

"Ok," the girl said, blinking and nodding her head. Why does she blink every time I ask her something? Had she eye defects too? He looked into her eyes. But her eyes are so beautiful. It didn't look like they could have any defects. They were just ethereal.

"Good, then I will tell you a few names and you can choose one. How about Amanda, Amelia, Lily, Isabella, Grace, Mia, Anna."

"Anna, I like Anna." She said stopping him in mid way for taking further names.

"Huh!" The boy stopped again, he scratched the back of his head awkwardly. Sure, he had asked her to choose a name and gave the name Anna also as an option to her.

But he had never thought she would choose it. Now how would he explain that he couldn't call her Anna?

He coughed to clear his throat and said, "Actually Bella suits you more, as you are just like a belle beautiful and elegant. You have a charming face belle. What do you think?" He flattered her to change her view

The girl gazed into his eyes and blinked then she blinked again and again, after a while when he was just about to panic thinking the irritation of her increased she said, "you are lying. "

His panic turned into confusion. "Huh? What am I lying about?"

"You don't want me to choose Anna." She said as a matter of fact without blinking.

Guilt instantly flashed his eyes and he averted his eyes to look at the road. "Yeah, actually I don't want to call you Anna, can you choose any other name? Please." He asked scratching the back of his head.

Like always she blinked and nodded

"Huh, it was easy. I thought you liked the name" he asked with a smile. He heard the sound of honk and looked back at the coming bus. Thank God! He gleamed.

"No, it's because you like it," she replied with a blink.

Huh! I like it! But before he could think or ask the bus arrived. He held her hand and dragged her towards the bus. As it was the last late night bus it mostly remained empty. He easily got the seats backside and sat with her.
