The Big Reveal

As he stared at me in disbelief, he suddenly ran and stood in front of Noelle and pulled out a knife from the pocket of the hoodie he was wearing.

He placed the knife at her throat, desperation and fear clouding his judgment.

"Don't move, you're not going to pull the trigger, if you do I'll slit her throat!" He yelled, a desperate final attempt at redemption.

I kept my cool, just to be sure that everything would be under control, I tested out my new skill. It would burn the rest of my stamina but would be worth it.

"System, activate Future Sight." I said.

In an instant I saw multiple scenes of how the future could play out. Unlike foresight, future sight showed me multiple scenes and lasted longer, it also had a lower cooldown. It was convenient.

In the scenarios I'd seen, he didn't slit her throat in any of them.

I began to laugh once again and it annoyed him greatly and then I spoke.

"Which do you think would be faster? A bullet or your hand. I'd personally like to find out" I said with a large frown on my face as I aimed the Glock at his forehead.

"You're-You're bluffing!" He shouted.

"I'm ready to take risks. Trust me, you don't want to make an enemy of the Darhk or the Everglade family, for your own safety I advice you to drop the knife." I said.

He leaned back for a moment and I saw it as my window of opportunity. In an instant, with lightning speed I was behind him and before he could react, I karate chopped him in the neck, knocking him out.

The fight was finally over, I rushed to Noelle's side and removed the mask from her head. She was out cold but wasn't harmed in any way.

I loosened the ropes she was tied to and left her on the chair. I wanted to get her someplace to rest, but I had something I needed to do first.

These guys, I needed to know who sent them and what their motive was.

I stood at the center of the room and counted them, 9 bodies. I went round the building and found a bunch of ropes, which used to tie them all in a circle.

I would interrogate them when they woke up, and I began to set the stage for it.

As I waited patiently for either Noelle or the criminals to wake up, I got a notification from the system which baffled me greatly.

'Finish them off, did that mean I should kill them?' I thought to myself.

I didn't expect a response from the system. 'Kill them?, wouldn't that be a little bit too much. I was tempted to, 500 SP at a go was a priceless offer and I wasn't sure when next I would come across a situation like this.

But then again, it could quickly escalate and become a murder case. Yes my family would be able to alleviate the charges and better yet I could afford the best lawyers, I could basically get away with it.

After much contemplation, I decided not to. I was about to enter the world of business and begin to grow my empire. I didn't want any stain on my clean slate.

A good reputation was key in building stable business relationships, and I didn't want anything that could cause a scandal to be used against me in future.

And most importantly, I was definitely not a killer.

"I decline the quest" I said.

There it was with that Keepers thing again, it couldn't provide any information on it and kept mentioning it. The mysteries continued to pile up.

The guys finally began to wake up and I took a seat and sat in a position, where they would all see me.

"Rise and shine boys" I said with a smile on my face, and they all began to struggle to try and get the ropes off.

The leader spoke first, "what are you going to do to us?" with an angry frown on his face.

"I want to negotiate, now I could call the police and get you all arrested, or we could come to terms and maybe work together, it's your choice" I said firmly, wiping the smile off my face.

The man thought for a while, "fine then" he said. His crew had so much trust in him and no one opposed his decision.

"Good, now for my first question, who sent you?" I said firmly. By the look on his face I was sure he was expecting this and I waited patiently for his response.

"I can't tell you that." He said confidently. 'Hmm, whoever his boss is it has to be someone with a lot of power of influence, or he's bluffing, I wonder what I could use to persuade him.' I thought.

"I certainly don't think you're in any position to be stubborn" I said, a frown on my face.

"Send us to prison, do what you want, she'll get us out." He said, avoiding my gaze.

"She?" I said, he widened his eyes realizing he'd made a slight slip up and turned his eyes away in order to not reveal anything else.

These guys weren't going to talk, I didn't want to torture any of them, that was an absolute last resort. Then a thought crossed my mind.

'System, scan the faces of all these men in this room and get me information on all of them, their names, friends, family, I want it all.'

<Understood. >

It scanned their faces and brought up some pop up windows with their information on it, before compiling it and putting them into one big folder.

"Whatever you're doing, it wont work. We-We have full trust in our boss" the leader said, defiant as ever.

With the new information at my disposal, getting them to confess wouldn't be too hard.

"Are you sure about that?, for your sake and for the sake of Claire, Scott and Michelle I strongly suggest that you comply with me." I said, a pale expression on my face.

"How! How do you know those names?!" Said the leader in shock. They were the names of his family, Claire was his wife and they were going through a divorce and the other two were his children.

The others looked at me in shock too and one by one, I revealed the identities of their family members, their addresses and where they lived.

"With all this information at my disposal, I wonder what would happen to these people. Remember this, I am the son of the current head of the Darhk family, my family's influence would be more than enough to ruin the lives of everyone you love."

As I said this, I stood and glared at them all, a menacing look in my eyes.

"Now I'll ask again for the last time, who sent you?", my voice was much calmer now, I'd won.

"Fine! I'll tell you." He said he looked to his crew for final confirmation and they nodded to him in approval, and then he spoke.

"The person who sent us was Mrs. Gloria Slater, your stepmother." He said.
